One question ... There are games that also have IN-GAME HDR adjustment. Should you also switch off HDR tone mapping there and then switch back to "Gratation preffered"?
For example in Battlefield V?

I purchased the 65 900f 3 yrs ago. I was impressed with the picture display. So much so, I purchased the 75 x90j. I've viewed several videos trying to get my picture settings adjusted. I applied these settings to the 900f (as well as the x90j) and the picture is amazing! Only a videofile can see the difference between the two panels. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. 👍🏾

I’m only seeing 10 point color even after downloading Calman for Bravia. Really appreciate your settings, it made me keep this tv and not return it for an A80J.
Works great bought the sony X95J 75" and this is the best result i can get, i get 1100 nits on the first screen and on the second one 700 nits!
this is great and all but next time, I wish you'd go step by step. You have some moments where youre talking about adjusting a certain setting but it doesn't match as to where you are adjusting the setting on the tv itself. Notthing negative but just a small recommendation.
Amazing this changed my mind to keep the TV instead of swapping it for much more expensive oled

This looks spectacular for games!!! Brightness looks great on video sources, but seems so yellowy to me. Any suggestions? Maybe back the blue and green down less?

hi classy! you are the reason i bought the x90j over the 85 j, you confirmed my suspicion over the interlacing issue with vertical resolution changing when 4k 120 enabled, its a shame i TRIED so hard to want to love the x85j, BUT I LOVE MY x90j! it is comparable to an lg c1, well there are a lot of reviews comparing them and i am not complaining i love my tv thank yoU!@

The Calman for Bravia app doesn't let me adjust anything, it seems to just be for measuring.
I still have an Xbox one S would you recommend the Dolby vision set up or 4K 60hz? I play games in the dark sometimes would the gaming set up work or would I have to alter it?
I watch sports on a 2k cable box so do any of these suggestions for the sport mode really matter?
I made the adjustments, and it helped a lot! However, when watching TV, the reds seem too red. Everyone looks as if they’ve been in the sun a little too long! I mainly just watch TV via streaming apps. Any advice?

I have a Question regarding my Sony Bravia XR55X90J Tv. This TV supports 120Hz refresh rate for PlayStation and all other HDMI inputs.
The thing is I would like to watch some content on RUclips in 120hz format i.e 2160p120 or even 1080p120.
I don't know if my TV doesn't support that or RUclips doesn't have any 120 hz videos on the Platform.
One more thing I'd like to know how to Enable "Show the current display refresh rate" settings in Developer Options as we have on Android Mobile Devices.

You seem to know your stuff. If I have a PS5, Xbox and a 5.1 HDMI surround sound, does it matter that I cant plug the surround sound into the earc port and would have to use the basic HDMI port instead? (as PS5 would be using that port)
You always want to connect ur surround sound to earc to get the best sound

@@EazyDuz18 if you use the basic 2.0 port which you stated you will not get the best sound quality like Dolby atmos that is why you need to put it either on the earc port which is 2.1 or the other 2.1 hdmi port
@@devildawg4947 Dolby Atmos is extremely top of the line and if you really want the proper experience you need ceiling speakers. I'm not an audiophile, DTS 5.1 is more than enough for me, so HDMI 2 is fine or optical, i have no plans to upgrade sound system
Why don’t you put everything in your receiver (ps5 and Xbox)? Is it an old receiver? Can you still get all audio formats with your setup?

I've followed your settings, but still have blooming. Is it just the case that there will be some blooming always with LEDs? or might my brightness be too high? I am not near my TV atm otherwise I'd check.

Would you recommend 65 inchx950h or 75 inches X90J? No gaming just Dolby vision streaming and RUclips?
Depends on seating distance and if off angle at all. X90J loses its image quality off angle a lot.

@@nak7155 if you aren't gaming you should be able to find a 75" x950h for a good deal and just go with that

I “upgraded” from a Samsung q70r to the x90j and have regretted it ever since. I should have taken this set back. Maybe I just got a bad panel but either way it was a mistake.

I just brought this tv from Costco and I was so excited to finally bring it home and set it up and it looked terrible. I don't know why. The local channels looks fuzzy and grainy. The streaming looks fuzzy and weird and the physical media looks the best but still. I don't want to take it back just yet without knowing if it's something I'm not doing.

Do you have to switch between expert 1 and 2 everytime you watch hdr and Dolby vision content? Mine keeps going back to expert 1 for my hdr10 settings
You shouldn’t have to once you set it it should be saved so when you watch a HDR movie this setting should be there for HDR and when you watch a Dolby Vision movie the setting should be the same you shouldn’t have to always change the expert one or expert to

@@vb8428 yes no problem you can turn off DV and your content that you’re watching will automatically switch over to HDR ultra HD with no problems but I don’t have this TV because it’s a LCD by Sony. I have the Sony master series A90J OLED

I have a receiver, but no. I have a male to female HDMI 2.1 cable from monoprice. I disconnect and reconnect devices to HDMI 4 with that to not wear out the ports.
But I don't have the X90J anymore.

I'm using the hdmi 3 2.1 arc port connected to my sound bar and have everything else like the PS5, PC and cable box connected directly to my sound bar hdmi ports (my sound bar has 3 hdmi ports) and it works pretty good. I can't tell if I'm losing sound though. I don't have anything connected to my HDMI 4. I guess my question is should I connect one of these to my hdmi 4 port? I'm thinking about using that for the Series X once I get one
@@Kingtoby1981 personally I would only connect gaming devices straight to the TV, as receivers/sound bars can possibly add input lag.

Sorry Classy, but if 20p is -15,-15,-15 for point 1 and -5,-5,-5 for point 2, when transferred to 10p shouldn't be -5,-5,-5 for point 1? -15,-15,-15 shouldn't be the 0,5p (which is not present) in the 10p setting?
The 5 range is off by a bigger margin than 10. With the 10-point control, 1 adjusts 10, but has an effect on 5. So a 15 adjustment is fine for most people who are only going to use the 10 point. I measured both 5 and 10 range with that adjustment to make sure 10 wasn't getting too dark. Don't want to recommend changing it too much and then they lose detail. Unlocking the 20 point would be the best way though.

Hey guys, I have a 55" Sony X900F in my family room and just got a 65" X90J for my basement. Upon initial viewing, it just seems clear that the X900F has better color and contrast. I remember FOMO mentioning something about 2018 was a peak year for LCD tech. Was the X900F series a better TV? I dabbled for months on whether to pull the trigger and just get the A80J. My wife shut that down, but now I'm gonna have buyer's remorse (ie, why spend 2/3 as much for a picture I don't love than spend 50% more and get a picture I do love). I am really happy with the picture on the X900F.

@@americanrroyalty The point I was trying to make is that I feel like I didn't really get an "upgrade", except for the TV is bigger (65" versus 55"), even though it is 3 years newer. Correct on the HDMI. I'm not playing games on the X900F. But I am now considering upgrading the X90J to the LG C1. It's available at a really good price right now.
I have a 2019 Sony 950G 65 ,is it worth it to upgrade it with x90j? I only have PS5 and don’t care about vrr, I have a CX also but 55 only I just miss the brighter panel, thanks more power.

Where do I start the video/changing settings when I'm on the TV home screen and it says, "picture - Apps (Video)" also is it just me or are these settings way too dark... I have my tv in my living room with a patio door + blinds to the right of it. Setting the cinema brightness to 8 looks way too dark

Because it's part of the HDR brightness algorithm.

does the auto local dimming ruin HUD in games where it turns white text and icons into dull fat grey blobs? like the X950H.
I have not ever heard that set up before so you may have to try it and see how you like it and if you don’t like it stay away from it
And for previous models that don't have the option to turn off tonemapping like my X900F, how should I make the calibration adjustments?
I would look up the rtings review for the 10% and full field brightness numbers then round that up to the nearest 50, and count your clicks to match that.

It's a little better but wait for x95j to come out so the price will come down on the x90j.

I noticed if I switch hdmi channel or to the apps, the settings of the picture modes differ. Why is that and can I/should I make them all the same?
My custom on hdmi 1 for example is different from when I'm on hdmi 4
Yes you should set your picture mode for all your inputs even for Netflix Amazon prime voodoo and salon and once you set it for each one of those then you will be fine it’ll always be there

I had a similar issue and added ambient light strip attached to the back of the tv by media light. It helped with eye strain and enhanced the contrast on the tv
