- But I also stacked a few good Legendary Relics along the way. Repeating the first floor again and again until I get one sets the tone for how long this will take. I manage to find two of them before the end of the first dungeon, this of course means I have to stack curses. The problem begins when the shop stop working, every time I enter it it locks me in with no items and no way out. The shop normally provides me with a lot of curse removal items, so that means I'm basically stuck with all my curses. Nevertheless I want to try and finish what I started so I press on. Even with a relic that adds critical chance per curse the struggle gets very hard. Always a fun game no matter what. UnderMine gameplay with my commentary as always!

One of the first times that df found breaking the game breaks the game.
He wasn't really breaking it this time, he was just trying to get a mechanic in the game to work so he could see how strong he could get from it. The game broke on its own.
Usually, he breaks the game balance.
This time, he broke the game itself.
I'm guessing that having both overstock and understock is what broke the game
Oh, yeah, that was probably it. Under stock the shop is a new curse, right? They probably forgot to think about how those two would act together, so instead of canceling each other out, they break it.

I'm certain this is what it is.
Notice: the entire normal shop is gone and only the 2 overstock items are in the shop.
What probably happened is the overstock must have forced the game to load in the normal shop, which isn't normally allowed to happen. And apparently, the normal shop gets locked when you can't enter it due to the understock curse. Something like that
Didn't he lose the understock curse shortly before getting the Small Chest? I'm thinking it is something to do with that curse, but maybe more to do with removing it and having the overstock relic?
Maybe, but I had both and they did not break the game. He removed the curse before going in the shop, but not before entering the floor.
Yet again, for the centipede boss when it turns red and goes through the middle you can drop a bomb in the middle and it'll try to eat it and take a ton of damage, this makes the boss easier. I won't stop commenting this until you notice it.

Yep, that plus the catalyst that lets you heal twice for each gold picked up... plus gold powder bombs means you are nearly unbeatable... throw in gold electrocutes monsters and the pilfier ring for added fun.

He has though, a while back.
He did a live stream, never made a series of videos in the same way as SDV or UM or Forager.
Its an interesting game but it lacks the RNG of these types of games. You are more grinding for particular drops to get better items, rather than trying to get a better item to drop. Once you get higher level equipment the floors become super easy to tank through. The only real thing I disagree with is that they did the ghost mechanic from spelunky which doesn't work when you are trying to grind to get items rather than move through it quickly.

Without a curse you can only use the transmute bomb 5 times... unless one of those times turns into a bomb, if that happens you can pick it up and replace the transmute, then pick back transmute and have a whole 5 new tries to get the relic you want.
I'm pretty sure that the transmute bomb disappeared because of the curse that he had which destroys a relic for every 50 enemies he kills.
@@Aivas1 I'm too lazy to rematch this to give you the exact time but at one point he is using the transmute bombs, gets another bomb and doesn't pick it up but keeps on using the transmute bomb. That's what I was referencing.

@@Aivas1 He's saying that you can transmute something 5 times before it breaks. But if you find a bomb upgrade you can pick it up and drop it again and the game treats it as a full health relic allowing you five more chances to transmute it into something you want. The curse he referenced is the brittleness curse which reduces the health of all items.

I have this friend and he was farming the solar eclipse in terraria by doing the leave without saving glitch and the game just gave in and gave him 3 broken hero swords.
Terraria: here, take this JUST STOP BREAKING THE GAME
That's not a glitch that is literally a feature of the game to turn off auto-save. Before auto-save was a thing on every single game, you would have to manually save your game when you wanted to. This is literally just reloading a save to do so.
I do the same thing in terraria but for Arkhalis. Takes 20-30 min usually of reloading to get it, since it is an obscenely low % to drop. As each shrine made has a 1/3 chance of spawning as one that can drop items. Then a 10% chance to actually get Arkhalis AND you have 1 chance on that 1 enchanted shrine. It takes you well into hardmode so its worth the extra time.
You know, it's 3:30am and I specifically didn't sleep just to watch your video. You're just too fun man.

The think the reason the shop broke was because of you getting the Simple Chest while having the curse that reduces the stock. When the curse was removed it just didn't agree in the code and said "Shop it broken now." at least, I would assume that's the reason. Probably will get patched at some point.
I think I noticed it was showing him 6 items in the shop with that Simple Chest curse. Maybe I was mistaken though.

I think the 'Reduce shop option'' curse mixed with 'overstock the shop' are the one that causes the bug. Although the curse is gone, the game still register it for being there, which might be the thing that locked the shop.

Hey DF You can actually distinguish mimics from normal chests by the sparkling effects on them
Normal chests have a golden sparkle while mimics have a gold/red sparkle.
You can also hit the chest before opening it to get a free hit onto the mimic

I think it was both the Simple Chest overstock relic and the Low Stock curse interacting badly with each other that caused the hole shop thing. I mean, makes sense. one overstocks, one takes away stock, the code probably competes with each other and doesnt know what to do.

'tis safe to take Shrine blessings with genie, +5 from the curse -5 for the blessing = no overall change. Could use to grab a toughness or something on floor 1

Df is becoming more human by the video
DF Minor curses, which you can only get from altars or items you get from the occasional secret room(the ones where you can choose one item to get for a number of curses), increase the chance for sho'guul(the "big idiot") by 5%(blessings reduce that by 5%, so using an altar to gain a blessing is net neutral, unless you gained that blessing via inverter or you have double blessings). Major curses, like the ones you gain from cursed chests and flames increase the chance by 10% and removing is worthwhile and doesn't lower your chances(unless you have inverter). Which means at 2:10 you had a 10% chance for him to show up on the next floor because you gained a MAJOR curse, not a 5% chance.
5:30 this is interesting. While a lot of people say that the relic eater curse destroyed your tsar bomba. It might have been changed but as far as i know relic eater destroys itself alongside one relic and you can clearly see it's still there( according to the wiki it still is "Relic Eater is a curse in UnderMine. After 50 enemies are killed, it will destroy a Relic at random and itself."). This means that it couldn't have possibly destroyed tsar bomba as it itself would've been gone. So congratulations DF you broke the game to an extreme degree today.

DF; 7:51 or so, your curse "relic eater" or something decided to take a bite of your bomb, so that's why it's gone.

Noticing at 16:40, he has 7 curses. I think all but one of them are what (used to be? are?) called major curses. The Legendary(?) relic for critical chance per curse is giving him +25%. That means 7 curses are equivalent to 5 levels of Savagery (which is +5% per), or half of Shadow's Fang (+50%). Overall, not super great, tbh.
Edit: Also, DF, you can smack chests before opening them if you think they might be mimics. I think a thrown pick counts, and will get a hit off on the mimic if it is one.
