Wow that was some good masking work, I can’t do that at all. I’ve just given up and do a solid color. I even have an air brush but if you can’t mask in great detail it doesn’t matter

That's Badass!!! I like this technique but I think I would use blue painter's tape instead for easier tape removal.
The Windex-method works great, it is just much messier and takes longer to do. I find that the method explained in the video is easier to do and much quicker but the "wet method" is very effective also (especially with really large decals that are placed over complex curves).

I'll update the info for the video but the Paint Masks and Decals used in the video were both from xxx main Racing. The flames mask was "Wicked Flames" part# M037L and the stickers were "Dark Bloom" part# S034. Thanks for the comment!

It might be a silly question but, when trimming the body how do you know the exact line you need to cut?
+Burak Eren There are lines molded into the body by the manufacturer. Just follow them.

Do you guys not prefer using the Windex-method when applying stickers? It certainly helps me get any bubbles out and get the alignment correct - but I don't know if it compromises the adhesive and lifespan of the sticker?
if i done that design i may have put a few of the proline stickers on it but not the flowers

Sweet paint job!! Great Tutorial.. 1 Question I received some vinyl Proline Decals with my VW Baja Beetle body, they dont seem to be sticky enough to adhere properly? Do I need To: i)soak in water or solution ii)use a vinyl decal cement(Tamiya) or iii) just cut with scalpel & apply..? please help?

It would have been awesome to see this paint job in fluorescent orange or green where the white was and not adding those flower stickers.
can a person use the spray paint that you get from home depot thats meant for plastic?
Dima Knight no. The body isn’t plastic. You need a paint made to stick and flex.
the krylon for plastic? yes you can it stick awesome in lexan and you got more paint for same money
Washing up liquid has grease in. Thats why your dishes sine. Bad idea to use it. Try cream cleaner applied to a sponge and wash.

Awesome paint job but rubbing your fingers over the window stickers after they have a coat on them is pointless like the last time you did it they were already covered by cured paint so it does nothing.....just saying.
How to make turn an awesome paint job into garbage: Do what the video tells you and then add the stupid flower stickers to make it garbage. Lol
To much contamination touching the body 4 times that's to much
Far too much masking tape used. Paper applied first to fill the main section then the tape. The stickers make it look... Well Rubbish.
everything recommended here is total garbage. this body won't last a month.
