Now THERE's a train meet! Just a few Uncle Joes on CSX. 2nd train meet? No doubt, defininitely the "in" with dispatching is paying off! A train meet tour de force, enjoyed it much,
You had a clear shot of the engines on the other IM on other side through open well cars, You can see the smoke when You zoom in from Canada, it's coming down into VA and the Carolinas too!🛤🚂
Nice meet at the start although the 167 tried to block my view of the grey bonnet alright on i003! Super fast i168 with double grey bonnet leaders! That last Canadian Pacific was really working hard. Thanks Mike from Wide World of Trains on RUclipsaah! 🚂🇦🇺🇺🇸🇦🇺🇺🇸
Not one high speed meet but two, now that’s cool. Plenty of fast intermodals polishing the rails. Watch out for the smoke from those Canadian fires, stay safe.👍🏼🚂🔥🇨🇦
WWOT Cool video seeing alot of train meets. Air Quality Alerts throughout NY includes NYC and the 5 boroughs Be safe up there. Today in Brooklyn it was awful due to fires 🔥 from Canada.
0:26 We are at the Harrington Road crossing in Sheridan, New York on 4 June 2023. We are looking east down the CSX racks at C train #03. As we are watching CSX train #I003, we hear a horn warning us of the approach of eastbound CSX train #I010. At 1:09 CSX train #I010 starts across Harrington Road. At 1:21 CSX train #I003 starts across Harrington Road. CSX train #I003 has a CSX boxcar that is Stenciled with extremely large letters DO NOT HUMP. CSX has a number of these DO NOT HUMP boxcars. They are autonomous, unmanned track inspection/geometry cars. The cars are placed on trains to check tracks. CSX train #I010 passes Harrington Road at 1:56. CSX train #I003 passes Harrington Road at 2:33. CSX train #I003 had many Amazon containers. You zoom in on the end of CSX train #I003 as we watch it go under the CX Control Point 37 signal bridge on its way to Dunkirk, New York. Usually, when we see the CSX Control Point 37 signal bridge, we are at the Middle Road looking east toward this signal bridge. The two signals that we see on the sides of the tracks when we look east from Harrington Road control the movement of westbound trains into the two tracks on the north and south of the main tracks. At 3:50 you zoom in on the end of CSX train #I003. We are watching the train as it crosses Middle Road and turns to the right on the curved tracks that take the train to the east end of the elevated tracks through Dunkirk, New York. At 418 you show us the four tracks that formed the four track New York Central Mainline between New York City and Chicago, Illinois. Starting from the south the tracks were #1, #2, #3 and #4. Former track #1 is now the south control siding. Former track #4 is now the north control siding. Former track #2 is now main track #2 (usually the eastbound main track). Former track #3 is now main track #1 (usually the westbound main track). At 5:11 you show us a portion of main track #1 to let us see how this rail and the other rail on main track #1 was ground down recently. CSX is storing some excess container well cars on the north control siding west of Harrington Road. You zoom in on the signal bridge east of Harrington Road to show is an approach signal for an eastbound train in the future. 6:24 We are at the Norfolk Southern tracks at Berry Road i9n Pomfret, New York on 4 June 2023. We are looking west at Norfolk Southern train #28B which is powered by a Canadian Pacific engine. At 6:51 Norfolk Southern train #28B starts across Berry Road. At 7:06 Norfolk Southern train #28B passes Berry Road. At 7:08 the train passes the Norfolk Southern Milepost 46.3 defect detector which is just east of Berry Road. The defect detector mechanism is in the second electrical cabinet east of Berry Road. At 7:52 you start to zoom in on the Norfolk Southern signal at Norfolk Southern Milepost 46.9 where the light on the signal is still lit. This Norfolk Southern signal is just to the west of the Lake Road crossing in Pomfret, New York. 8:13 You start to walk north on Berry Road toward the CSX tracks to see if there are any CSX trains approaching Berry Road. At 8:55 you look west to see no CSX trains from that direction. A turn to the east along the CSX tracks gives us the same result. 9:10 We are at the CSX Berry Road crossing in Pomfret, New York on 5 June 2023. As we look west on the CSX tracks, we see CSX train #I168 as it warns of its approach to Berry Road. At 9:28 CSX train #I168 starts across Berry Road. A triple articulated container car with six containers is the first car after the engines. The next car is a single container car carrying two containers. The rest of the train consisted of bare tables. It was difficult to figure out how many bare tables were on the train because there were numerous three-unit articulated container well cars and numerous five-unit articulated container well cars along with numerous single unit container well cars. At 11:03 CSX train #I168 passes Berry Road. You zoom in on the end of the train as it continues east. 12:13 We are at the Berry Road crossing in Pomfret, New York on 2 June 2023. Westbound CSX train #I009 is quickly approaching Berry Road. At 12:24 CSX train #I009 starts across Berry Road. At 12:40 CSX train #I009 passes Berry Road. You zoom in on the end of CSX train #I009 as it passes Lake Road at 14:14. 14:379 The right ditch light of eastbound CSX train #I158 appears to the left of CSX train #I009. A5t 15:36 CSX train #I158 starts across Lake Road. AT 15:50 CSX train #I158 warns of its approach to Berry Road. At 16:02 CSX train #I158 starts across Berry Road. At 17:17 CSX train #I158 passes Berry Ra. AT 17:21 you zoom in on the end of CSX train #I158 as it is passing through the Milepost 44.8 signals. At 17:57 CSX train #I158 passes through the Milepost 44.8 signals. You caught this train on 2 June 2023. At about 18:17 the lights on the Milepost 44.8 signs turn off. This time is a guesstimate because a vehicle was crossing the tracks at Berry Road and blocked our view of the signals at the exact time that they tuned off. When the Milepost 44.8 signals came back into view at 18:12 they were dark. AT 18:24 CSX train #I158 passes Van Buren Road. 18:31 You turn west on the CSX tracks at Berry Road in Pomfret, New Yor on 11 May 2023. At 18:48 we see CSX train #I166 starting across the Martin/Lowell Road crossing in Pomfret, New York. At 19:27 CSX train #I166 starts across Lake Road. At 20:02 CSX train #I166 warns of its approach to Berry Road. At 20:17 CSX train #I166 starts across Berry Road. At 20:50 CSX train #I166 passes Berry Road. CSX train #I166 is the daily CPKC run through intermodal train from the CPKC Intermodal terminal in Schiller Park, Illinois to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. After leaving the CPKC Intermodal Terminal in Schiller Park, Illinois the train stops at CSX’s North Baltimore, Ohio Intermodal Yard where the train works the Yard. The train then proceeds to CSX’s Seneca Yard in Buffalo, New York where the CSX crew turns the train over to a CPKC crew. ASt that point the train number changes to CPKC train #132. The CPKC crew takes the train across the International Railway Bridge from Buffalo, New York to Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada. Then it proceeds via Canadian Pacific rails to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Your Outro begins at 20:52 and ends at 23:28. Thank you for documenting these trains on the CSX and Norfolk Southern tracks in May and early June 2023! I was initially confused as to where you were for the first video. I had to look at a few minutes of that portion of the video to determine that we were at the Harrington Road crossing in Sheridan, New York. It has been a while since you were at this crossing. The long-distance meeting of CSX trains #I009 and CSX trains #I158 on 2 June 2023 was a surprise. CSX train #I009 obscured CSX train #I158 until the last moment when we saw the ditch light of train #I158. (Posted 12 June 2023 at 0000 CDT.)
Awesome train meet. Thank you for sharing this video. Stay safe my friend. Looks like my girlfriend Amazon orders are coming by the looks of the last few cars on the train (lol).
Wow how amazing was that video very incredible trains and very awesome train meets very cool and we are also getting smoke from Canada fires here in Michigan as well everyone becareful and stay safe
The reason we're all getting the smoke from the fires in Northwestern Quebec and Northeastern Ontario is because there is an abnormal shift in the weather pattern this year. The cooler air is dropping down from the north rather than coming from the southwest west. In Toronto today I wore an N95 mask because the smoke was bad.
a rare 3 grey day! unfortunately one was on the bozo express! we need to get an exorcist to come in and send that hellspawn and it's company back to hell!! and CP power on NS? that's rare up til now! looking at the marks at the 4 track respiking and tie works going to happening!!
