Paul Carrack was also on the Squeeze album Some Fantastic Place. The song was Loving You Tonight. Wikipedia doesn't mention a cold. It says that Paul sang on Tempted because the song fit his voice. It was rearranged. Tony Platt did engineer the AC/DC Back In Black
Fascinating topic. Here are five that peaked in the 40s, on the UK charts: . Rick Springfield - Jessie's Girl, #43 (1981) . Styx - The Best Of Times, #42 (1981) . Y&T - Mean Streak, #41 (1983) . KISS - Heaven's On Fire, #43 (1984) . Bryan Adams - Summer Of '69, #43 (1985)
I don't mind Tony Platt. I think he worked with Mutt Lange in the early 80s. Nice to hear New Zealand Band Crowded House get some love. That song was big here but I guess it would be. Peter Emmett and Fair Warning also did versions of She Don't Know Me. Cool idea for a show. Biggest surprise for me was the Nik Kershaw chart placing.
The reason that the Furs “Pretty In Pink” wasn’t that successful as a single was because OMD’s “If You Leave” was such an overwhelming force in the film, on MTV and on Top 40 radio.
My Top 5 favorite songs from this list are: 1. Cheap Trick - “Tonight It’s You” 2. Bon Jovi - “She Don’t Know Me” 3. Queen - “I Want It All” 4. Nick Kershaw - “Wouldn’t It Be Good” 5. Crowded House - “Better Be Home Soon” And at number 6 (I had to mention it also) .38 Special - “Like No Other Night” Tim, what are your five favorite songs from the ones mentioned???

Tony Platt did a great job on Lillian Axe’s “Love And War” album.
