I have been happy with Sirui products. I currently use the PH-20 carbon fiber gimbal, SR-3203 tripod, K-40X ball head, and various arcs Swiss plates. I often recommend their products to other photographers. For the price they cannot be beat.
Great little video! Definite shout out to Sirui !! I still love my Wimberley gimbal head on a tripod and I use the Wimberley sidekick on a monopod. Generally end up hand holding most of the time!!
I have a ball head and gimbal. I use the ball head most of the time, mainly because it is a lot easier to carry on the tripod. Thanks for the reviews and giveaways!
As usual, great to see you outside and not in the studio, just fits you much more and all this snow you got now, wow that feels like proper winter/Christmas season (we still have some unusually hot 15-20C here in central Japan, ludacris). Hiking a lot through mountain trails, do mainly handheld now but also use light but sturdy tripod with ballhead for landscape as well (almost 10days old FLM CP-26). Cheers
Thank you Some days I have to be on the studio this time of year or if I have to review images etc. Getting a LOT of snow this year. Happy Holidays. Love to someday get to the northern part of Japan to photograph your Dog Sled teams 😄
Nice review. I hadn’t heard of Sirui before this, but I’m definitely going to check them out. I use both a ball head for studio and sometimes landscape work, and a Jobu gimbal for bird and wildlife photography.
Great work once again!! I’m waiting for my camo tripod kit to show up,so thanks for the info. Also my 180-600 lens showed up yesterday…. I also have a atmos ninja 5 where can I find the adapter for the tripod? This tripod would be great to add to my collection.keep doing what you’re doing and Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!
Awsome video! Thanks for all the wisdom you share with us in your reviews. I am currently using the CraneLab 3 gimbal on a monopod. my set up works ok , but i do experience micro jitters when using a big lens. If i had the Surui you are giving away , i would use it as is or upgrade the fluid head if need be. thanks again for all you do , you are appreciated.
Nice review video. I'm old school, I still use a three-way pan head on my tripod, although recently I purchased a gimbal so I'm looking forward to using that.
Congrats on 10,000 subs! I don't have a gimble yet but they are pretty cool. But this tripod would be awesome for my backcountry canoe trips to go along with the new camera I plan in the new year. Currently, the big tripod I have is too heavy for canoe trips and the smaller one I have is too flimsy and doesn't fold up nicely and doesn't have a case.
Thanks for the video.. I have 2 tripods a large one and the small AM 223 of Sirui. It works better on rocks than a groundpod. I alwayse use my gimbal for my 500mm.
Scott. I do not use a long prime lens (i have the RF 100-400) and as such do not use a gimbal. However, I do use both a ball head (for landscape photography) and a video head (to mount my 10-60x80 spotting scope). This tripod would suit me as it appears that it would provide a stable platform in both use-cases. The waterproof feature is great since I live in coastal Georgia…lots of marsh, swamp and beach natural locations…one less thing to worry about!
Good morning, If I'm lucky enough to be drawn, I'll have to invest in a gimbal worthy of the name. Happy end of year celebrations Sorry I'm French and my English is very limited.
I too love their products, I photograph a lot of bear in eastern North Carolina with a Sony a1 and a 200-600 lens. I think that would go great with my gimbal head (Wimberley II). Please continue to give us the vicarious thrill of being in Alaska with you.
Nice review and congratulations on the 10k subscribers. I use the ball head. The next purchase is a gimbel. That makes it a lot easier. Wish you a nice Christmas time. Greetings from Germany. Daniel
I have a Sirui monopod. They make nice gear. I use a ball head and gimbal head on my tripod. My gimbal head is kind of large. I'd love to replace it in 2024. Not looking to enter this contest being that I already have two Leofoto tripods. Just wanted to comment that it is very nice of Sirui to give you this tripod for the contest. Thanks, Scott!
Hey Scott, I do not use any head on my tripod. I use what comes on it. I am considering getting a ball head or gimbal to upgrade my photography ability and improve my picture-taking quality. I would love to win the tripod. I liked the Sirui camo tripod you made a video about before; it got me thinking about upgrading my tripod. I currently use a High Country tripod, and when I use one, it is a good one. I love your channel and am grateful for the Christmas lights help you gave me on the member community channel. I will email you some pics I took when I get back from the weekend trip if they are worthy of you seeing them. LOL. Wish me luck for my first time taking Christmas Lights pics as a photographer.
I just found your channel wow what a treasure! 🎉 Yes, I too would love to win like everyone else. I have an old heavy metal tripod with a gimbal head and love to hike so this would be a true gift from almost the North Pole. 🎅🏼 Even if I don’t win, it’s a great gift that you share with us your knowledge and talents and give people like me inspiration. Thanks! 😊
First of all congratulations for the 10K subs!! Great thing to achieve and may wayy more come in the future!! I would like to have a light weight tripod like this for exactly the run and gun situation, currently I'm using an old (vintage) aluminium one with a ball head which I some times use as a light weight gimbal by turning it side ways and a video head both by Innorel. It would be nice win this tripod specifically where carrying weight is an issue. Keep creating these videos I absolutely enjoy them!!
Great video, never heard of Sirui before so found it very informative. Currently using a ball head but a gimbal may be in my future due to being on my Christmas Gift list to my two daughters. Looking forward to using the Gimbal head while photographing wildlife. Merry Christmas.
Congratulations for the 10K! Excellent content and always interesting videos and very educative. In love with my benro gimbal, even if it is way more heavy than a ballhead.
Merry Christmas. I use a ball head and a small gimbal on my tripod. Thanks for the great videos this year, looking forward to seeing your helpful videos next year.
My cheap Manfrotto travel tripod came with a ball head and it seems to be fine, I have used others tripods with video heads and they were significantly more stable for video. It would be great to get this as my current tripod is past its rated limits with my r50 and rf100-400 and I started saving up for a 200-800 which is definitely too heavy for the little Manfrotto.
I use the small rig mount for my camera. This tripod would be a nice compliment to my Surui monopod. So far I use a tripod only to stabilize my 800 lens and spotting scope.
I have an aluminum Sirui tripod I bought at Stewart's about 10 years ago along with a Sirui ball head. I really like it except for a bit heavy. That lightweight model you are giving away would be nice to have. Thanks again for the giveaway.
I have 5 tripods and I use a gimbal, 3 way and ball heads. Depending on what glass and the subject matter, which combination that I use at any given time. If the Aurora is good, I will use 3 or more cameras and tripods at the same time. Stay warm.
Another great video. I use both a ball head and a gimbal head. For wildlife, I prefer the gimbal. With a leveling base, I can follow moving wildlife and keep the frame level.
Another informative video. I’ve only used a ball head, as I’ve never had a need for a different type of head. I wouldn’t mind trying a gimbal head though.
I currently use a ball head but plan on switching to a gimble soon. The tripod head I have now has a trigger you pull in order to move it around but it lacks some mobility when shooting up, like up the side of a mountain. With the gimble head would that would not be an issue. Keep up the good work, I love watching your videos!
Hi Scot.Sorry for the late watch of your video but I found it very interesting and a lightweight tripod and gimbal would be very useful for me at the age of 77yrs to replace the heavy one I am struggling to carry with me at the moment.
I bought that smallrig and it's been awesome travel tripod! I use a ball head most of the time and free hand. Geared head for astrophotography and landscape. Congratulations again
I would like to use a fluid head so I can film with my camera as will photo wildlife. Some thing small and light is right up my street. Plus thank you for the opportunity
I have a small hiking sirui tripod that is excellent and it meets all my wild life photography. I’ve started doing landscape panos and it’s a little short. I’d put a leveling pano base on it with the sirui ball head
I just began photography this year, I bought my first camera back in January and have yet to try a Tri pod. I’ve been practicing on hawks and took a camping trip 2 weeks ago to try capturing some good shots of eagles. Last month I bought a monopod last but have yet to use any accessories or heads with it. This tripod looks amazing, I was impressed you could put your body weight into it and the legs didn’t flex!
Congrats on 10k! I mainly use ballheads. I find myself using tripods less and less as cameras get better with high ISO, so if I'm bringing a tripod, I want it to be as light and compact as possible, hence a ballhead. When I shoot video though, I use a pan/tilt head.
I've been a photographer for well over 50 years but I just started with wildlife two years ago. I definitely appreciate the value of a good tripod, even better a LIGHT but STURDY one! I use a ball head for general photography, but a gimbal (usually with a monopod) for birds and of course a video head for video, so I have all of those!
Picked up my first Sirui tripod earlier this year. Light-weight carbon fiber that travels really well ... particularly on 'fly-away' trips. 80% of the time I'm using a ball-head and a gimbal for the remainder. Looks like your getting a good dumping of snow this year. Enjoy and thanks for the videos. Finally have my 180-600 and am looking forward to putting it through its paces.
Thank you for your great videos. I have learned a lot by watching them and always enjoy the beautiful images and videos. I am currently using a Leofoto Carbon Fiber Tripod with a Manfrotto Fluid Head. The Sirui ST-124 looks very nice and would be perfect for lighter weight outings. Also, since the center column can be removed and inverted it would be perfect for low angle macro photography which I am now getting into.
Congrats on the 10k and another great video! I have the Sirui AM-484 tripod with a K&F concept tripod head, although my daily go-to is a monopod with an Oben VH-R2 head for my z8 with the 100-400 for birding in Florida. Thinking about getting the 180-600 but that would probably require a gimbal. Thanks again for all the great videos! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
great timing on the video as I am looking for a new travel tripod and the 124 was one of the models I was considering. Currently I use the ball head that came with my Rollei Beta Mk2 together with a Jobu Micro Gimbal ball head adapter. I am looking at adding a real gimbal but have also considered a 2-way head like the Leofoto VH-30 as a lightweight all-in-one travel solution for when I am doing a mixture of landscape and animal photography.
Good morning. I am really enjoy your cool Manner and great videos. I have the sirui tripod with the gimble head. I am learning video and using it for that. I also have the larger tripod for my z 9 and 600 F:4 lens. At times I may have both set up at the same time. Especially when I am in a spot with lot's of bird action going on where I don't have to move much. Eagle feeding for example. Thank you again for whet you do and all the very very best ti you and your Family Happy Holidays.
It must be amazing to live in Alaska where you have access to so much wildlife. I use a gimbal and a ballhead. The gimbal I use for my Canon 500mm f4 and the ballhead I use for my 100 to 400 lens. I enjoy your videos.
You're killing me, Scott! You've already convinced me to buy the Sirui monopod and camo tripod kit (I'm definitely a gimbal guy). Now, I'm in the market for the Sirui ST-124. The question is, how many Christmas gifts can I con my wife into. I am always glad to let Sirui and Stewart Photoshop know how useful your videos are. All kidding aside, congrats on 10,000 subscribers. Keep up the great work!
Looks like a real nice tripod. I don't use my tripod much for photography anymore. Since I switched to mostly wildlife I usually handhold or laying on the ground with a gimbal head on a ground pod. I use my tripod mostly to hold my spotting scope and then my preferred head is my video head but I usually forget it at home and wind up using my ball-head.
Congrats on 10K. I'm mainly using ball heads now, but do have a cheap gimbal to use for wildlife. So many different head options out there now. I was using a Bogen 3D head, but finally needed to switch to something Arca compatible. I'm definitely interested in the geared heads, but may be a while before that happens.
I have been happy with Sirui products. I currently use the PH-20 carbon fiber gimbal, SR-3203 tripod, K-40X ball head, and various arcs Swiss plates. I often recommend their products to other photographers. For the price they cannot be beat.
Also, thanks for the videos. I have really enjoyed all of your work.
Completely agree and thanks for watching 🎄
Great little video! Definite shout out to Sirui !! I still love my Wimberley gimbal head on a tripod and I use the Wimberley sidekick on a monopod. Generally end up hand holding most of the time!!
Right on!
I have a ball head and gimbal. I use the ball head most of the time, mainly because it is a lot easier to carry on the tripod. Thanks for the reviews and giveaways!

Happy Holidays. Love to someday get to the northern part of Japan to photograph your Dog Sled teams 😄
Currently I am using a travel tripod, the Benro Cyanbird. It has a ball head that also has pan and tilt. Small but very nice.
👍🎅
Scott, thanks for another great video and thanks to Sirui. I use a Neewer gimbal with my Canon R7. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Merry Christmas to you also.
Nice review. I hadn’t heard of Sirui before this, but I’m definitely going to check them out. I use both a ball head for studio and sometimes landscape work, and a Jobu gimbal for bird and wildlife photography.
Right on
Congratulations on 10k subs ! Count me in for this great giveaway ! I would use it as a gimbal on the tripod for sure, that would be awesome ! Thanks
Awesome! Thank you!
Small rig makes a lot of the arms for attaching different items. Here's a link to the arms. amzn.to/3tf4pa5
And another great video. I would use a ballhead on it.
Cool, thanks
I use a ball head would love to use gimbal not there yet Thanks again for your videos
👍🎅
Hi greeting from Ireland I use a Ball head for landscapes and a gimbal head with the canon R7
👍🎅
Awsome video! Thanks for all the wisdom you share with us in your reviews. Cool tripod, bro! I'm a ball-head user. I don't have any lenses big enough to warrant a gimbal head. I hope I win!
Good luck!
Enjoyed your video about setting up the Z8/9. Gimbal head is my preference. Keep up the informative videos, thanks.
Awesome, thank you!
Nice review video. I'm old school, I still use a three-way pan head on my tripod, although recently I purchased a gimbal so I'm looking forward to using that.
Very cool!
I’m using a video head. Manfrotto MVH502. It’s heavy but works great.
👍
Great video dude. What gimbal head did you use? Is the supplied rail head no use? Thanks from Scotland.
its good but only for lighter lenses. lefoto gimbal
Thanks
I have the W2204 with a leveling base and two Way head.
Love the Sirui products.
Looking for something smaller and the st-124 looks like it.
👍
Thanks for the video.. I have 2 tripods a large one and the small AM 223 of Sirui. It works better on rocks than a groundpod. I alwayse use my gimbal for my 500mm.
Thanks for sharing👍
2:06 Congrats on the 10k . Love watching your videos. I use a manfrotto 502 video head. Keep up the good work. 👍. .
Awesome! Thank you!

Good morning,
If I'm lucky enough to be drawn, I'll have to invest in a gimbal worthy of the name.
Happy end of year celebrations
Sorry I'm French and my English is very limited.
Thanks and good luck
Great sticks. I currently alternate between a ball head, gimbal (nature/wildlife) or a geared head (architecture). Great videos! Congratulations!
Cool, thanks!

Love my gimbal for birding especially off the coast of Maine. Thanks for sharing all your experiences with us!
Glad you enjoy it!
I typically use a Benro gimbal head and have had great results. I have been considering getting a video head soon for smoother pans when recording.
It does help a lot
Nice review and congratulations on the 10k subscribers. I use the ball head. The next purchase is a gimbel. That makes it a lot easier. Wish you a nice Christmas time. Greetings from Germany. Daniel
Cool, thanks. Merry Christmas 🎄
I just picked up a RRS Bh 40 ballhead mostly on my tripod. My gimbal head still looks brand new 😂. Nice video!
Nice!!
Thanks for the videos and giveaways! I use Gimbal for wildlife and ball head for landscapes.
👍
I have a Sirui monopod. They make nice gear. I use a ball head and gimbal head on my tripod. My gimbal head is kind of large. I'd love to replace it in 2024. Not looking to enter this contest being that I already have two Leofoto tripods. Just wanted to comment that it is very nice of Sirui to give you this tripod for the contest. Thanks, Scott!

Great review! I use both ball head and gimbal head! In fact I do have Sirui gimbal head - PH10!
Great gimbal
I just found your channel wow what a treasure! 🎉 Yes, I too would love to win like everyone else. Great to hear!
Congrats!! First thing that I noticed was the number 10,000!!!
Yay! Thank you!
Congratulations for the 10K! Excellent content and always interesting videos and very educative. In love with my benro gimbal, even if it is way more heavy than a ballhead.
Thanks
Merry Christmas. I use a ball head and a small gimbal on my tripod. Thanks for the great videos this year, looking forward to seeing your helpful videos next year.
Sounds great! Merry Christmas 🎅

I use the small rig mount for my camera. This tripod would be a nice compliment to my Surui monopod. So far I use a tripod only to stabilize my 800 lens and spotting scope.
That's a great idea!
Congratulations on your channel's success! When shooting wildlife I use a leofoto gimbal head.
Thank you
I have an aluminum Sirui tripod I bought at Stewart's about 10 years ago along with a Sirui ball head. I really like it except for a bit heavy. That lightweight model you are giving away would be nice to have. Thanks again for the giveaway.
👍
I have 5 tripods and I use a gimbal, 3 way and ball heads. Depending on what glass and the subject matter, which combination that I use at any given time. If the Aurora is good, I will use 3 or more cameras and tripods at the same time. Stay warm.
Can never have enough tripods 😄
Another great video. I use both a ball head and a gimbal head. For wildlife, I prefer the gimbal. With a leveling base, I can follow moving wildlife and keep the frame level.
👍
Another informative video. I’ve only used a ball head, as I’ve never had a need for a different type of head. I wouldn’t mind trying a gimbal head though.
If you are shooting wildlife then a gimbal makes tripod shooting a breeze.
Nice review, plus a bonus moose to boot. Thanks for sharing. I am a converted geared head user, and that narrow design would fit nicely with it.
very nice
I like using a gimbal for wildlife and sometimes a ball head for landscape photography.
👍🎅
I currently use a ball head but plan on switching to a gimble soon. The tripod head I have now has a trigger you pull in order to move it around but it lacks some mobility when shooting up, like up the side of a mountain. With the gimble head would that would not be an issue. Keep up the good work, I love watching your videos!
Thanks
Hi Scot.Sorry for the late watch of your video but I found it very interesting and a lightweight tripod and gimbal would be very useful for me at the age of 77yrs to replace the heavy one I am struggling to carry with me at the moment.
👍🎅
Congrats on 10k ! Count me in for this great giveaway ! I would use a gimbal for sure on the tripod, both are essential for steady pics ! Cheers
Good luck!
Hi Scott, congratulations on reaching 10k subscribers.
I use a ball head and want to change to a light gimbal.
Good luck!
I bought that smallrig and it's been awesome travel tripod! I use a ball head most of the time and free hand. Geared head for astrophotography and landscape. Congratulations again
Very cool!
Love my Sirui monopod... I use ball heads on my tripod but have wanted to try a gimbal setup someday.
You should!
Congrats on the 10k . Very nice video and tripod In use both the ball head and gimbal
Awesome thank you!
I would like to use a fluid head so I can film with my camera as will photo wildlife. Some thing small and light is right up my street. Plus thank you for the opportunity
👍🎅
I only handhold now, but I'd probably start with a ballhead with the hopes of moving up to a gimbal later.
👍
I have a small hiking sirui tripod that is excellent and it meets all my wild life photography. I’ve started doing landscape panos and it’s a little short. I’d put a leveling pano base on it with the sirui ball head
👍
Congratulations on hitting 10k!! My tripod has a ball head.
Good luck!
I just switched to a gimbal head before that I used a video head but I think I like the gimbal head more for wildlife
Agree
Excellent video again. Now i have gimbal but I would like to have fluidhead
👍
Thank you for the great videos! I use most of the time my videohead :) This Sirui looks awesome!
👍
Thank you for the giveaway!
I have a ballhead on my tripod but would love to try a gimbal.
👍🎄
I use a LeoFoto geared head for landscape and an Acratech pan/tilt head for wildlife.
👍
I use a video head currently, but am looking at gimbals and seeing what I can afford, What gimbal are you using in this video?
Leofoto PG-1
@@WILDALASKA Thank you. :)
Thanks for an awesome video. I use a gimbal head on my old tripod.

Thanks so much for the information. I use a ball head on my tripod.

Awesome! Thank you!
Ball head at the moment but looking to get a gimble great video
👍🎅
@WILDALASKA hi Scott cam I ask what gloves you had on there please 🙏
Just some Cabalas hunting gloves. They are lighter warmth, but are waterproof. I don't remember what model. They some thinsulate in them but not a ton
It must be amazing to live in Alaska where you have access to so much wildlife. I use a gimbal and a ballhead. The gimbal I use for my Canon 500mm f4 and the ballhead I use for my 100 to 400 lens. I enjoy your videos.
Thanks. Ya Moose around anchorage are like stray dogs lol
Thank you 🎅
Looks like a real nice tripod.
👍🎅
Congrats on 10K.
I'm mainly using ball heads now, but do have a cheap gimbal to use for wildlife. So many different head options out there now. I was using a Bogen 3D head, but finally needed to switch to something Arca compatible. I'm definitely interested in the geared heads, but may be a while before that happens.
Thanks
