I put out my Prodiamine about two weeks ago. I’m just hoping to stop the Poa. Crab grass has never been an issue for me.
Well Poa annua starts germinating in late fall, when temps FALL down past 60 degrees. All the poa that's gonna germinate, has already done it. Pre emergent is going down now for prevention of weeds for the next 6 months, which are warm season weeds like crabgrass and such. If you want to stop poa, you want to look at pre emergent in the late fall when most cool season lawns are overseeding.
@@MrFergusonLawn I put prodiamine down in October but never did my second part of a split application so maybe that’s why I still have some Poa but not nearly as much as I have in the past. Well maybe I’m not as bad off as I was imagining. I’ve just got spring fever and am so ready to get back out in the yard.
7am once again!!!! I love it.
Screw AI
Sucks that I got more snow last week, so I'm waiting a bit longer! 🌨❄🌨
Sure does!
Glad to see you back in the morning. This is part of my Mon Wed and Fri start of day routine. I wonder if that .732 amount fills a shot glass to make it easier for those without a scale
I think staying at 7am is just my thing lol. Thanks my friend.
@@MrFergusonLawnyeah buddy. I wouldn’t catch the 4pm until after 8 or later. Thanks
I bought some pre-emergent you recommended. But not putting it down because I over seeded in September. I am going to wait until later.
When your soil temps are 50-54, that’s the time. Good luck!
I'm in Virginia I plan on doing my first app and my neighbors yard that I renovated last fall hopefully the last week of this month I just need to do it the day before rain.
Hello Mr.Ferguson new follower & new on lawn care just bought a house couple yrs ago & i want to improve my lawn and im starting this season trying to kill weeds & crabgrass so in fall i would do an overseeding. and im planning to do my 1st application with a bag of LESCO Dimension 0.15% 19-0-6 pre-emergen plus fertilizer hoping that will help with the weeds but i also likes your method and thats making me think if im doing it right, any comments or tips will help me alot & will appreciate by the way im in the transition zone (Nashville TN) and like your content, Tkx in advance 👍
Another great informative video!
Thanks Chris
Great information Mr Ferguson. I know that back pack sprayer is heavy when it's full. But that sprayer is awesome ... hope you have a great weekend.
Sure is!
Got mine out yesterday. And a speedzone blanket spray!
I need to do this myself!
I just purchased the 5 oz bottle of Prodiamine. I did a partial renovation last fall and plan on reseeding in 2 weeks. Thank you for telling us to not use the product if reseeding! I have Tenacity so I’ll just have to use that and hope it kills the crabgrass 🤞🏻
Yes, don't cancel out each product. One or the other. Tenacity is the way to go if seeding.
With how many years you've been using prodiamine I highly doubt you have crabgrass issues due to not watering it in this year.
Man I feel you with the water hose issues. Been there. Good to see you prasing the Lord even with a small struggle. God Bless!
Have to! I was not happy, but things happen!
Got a month or two before I need to do the prodiamine here in central Indiana on my 80,000 sq ft lawn. Glad I have a pull behind sprayer. 😊
Thank you Mr. Ferguson . God bless.
lots of helpful tips in this video. thank you. enjoy the lawn
Glad it could help.
I just aplied my prodiamine also im down in florida
Yay! 😀 I like the morning videos!
Thanks for another informative video!
Great video. Thanks!
I do a all in one app.
Great. My soil is at 34 under snow cover hehe. Way behind here😢
Mr Ferguson, can you provide a link to your sprayer nozzle please?
It’s in description. It’s GCI Nozzle Buddy
@@MrFergusonLawn thank you!
Mr Ferguson If I put down pre emergent granules down do you recommend I use the liquid now? I put the granules down today. I’m in Clarksville Tennessee
What do you use for a trim nozzle?
I use the GCI nozzles. I linked them in the description, called the GCI nozzle buddy. I think the trip nozzle is in that package
I got oak leaves and a 5 inch snowpack here on the CT coast. I'm about 1-2 months away from applying anything.
I over seeded my lawn this past fall with Johnathan Green BBU. I was wondering which rates should I use when I mix up the Prodiamine since I have a small percentage of KBG and perennial ryegrass.
Does prodiamine stop Kbg from spreading (rhizomes)?
No
Hey Mr. Ferguson I meant to ask if you’re going to put prodiamine on the project lawn? I apologize if you’ve already mentioned that. Thank you!
I've experimented with watering in vs not watering in with mixed results (no pun intended). Sometimes I wonder if spots were missed while spraying in areas where problem weeds pop up.
We shall see…I hope it’s not a terrible test haha
I’m gonna put down Lesco 19-0-7 with Dimension either this weekend or early next week. We’re starting to see highs in the upper 50’s here in S. Ky.
If doing a split app would you use half the prodiamine?
@@TheDylan6908 check out the label, and do the 3 month amount. However, you really only wanna do pre emergent in fall or early spring. Next time to time it is at the 55 degree soil temp mark.
Got it thanks. Label said .185 -.55 oz/1000 and multiple apps together can't exceed that upper .55 oz
I noticed that you have the new gun and wand from GCI laying out. Did you use it, if so how does it compare to the original setup from Flowzone?
I didn't for this spray. I did for spot spraying weeds afterwards. Can't say just yet, but I'll let you all know for sure.
next week here , soil temps 49 ish
Like the early morning post. Are you back to posting at these times?
Not watering that in would make me lose sleep. 😂 Looking forward to seeing what happens with the crabgrass. I’m about a month away from being able to begin the ‘24 season (NJ).
Screw AI lol. We are back to 7am. And yes…it bothers me too!
If you were using tenacity, how close could you spray up to that tree in your front yard up to the mulch or would that be too close? That would be a good video because now they’re selling it granular with fertilizer included and applicators are going everywhere there’s grass I know you’re supposed to stay out of the zone, but I don’t know the damage it could cause to trees 🌲
Hopefully it rains in the next Few days. Interesting to see how it does. Also did you spray the church. Once again awesome video. 👍👍
Not yet…that’s coming soon.
You should label your drill with a silver permanent, including battery , so you don’t bring that drill in the house to hang up curtains better just keep it separate for lawn chemicals only
Doesn’t make sense…u said to put down the first round of 3 months coverage march, April, may. Then 30 days later put a second dose of 3 months coverage. So then that April, may, June….not may, June July unless u put the second app down in may…
Video is very confusing…
I’ll make it clear; 1st app should go down just before 55 degree soil temp mark. The month is irrelevant, and different based on location. Second one should go down just before 65 degree soil temp mark. This will protect you through spring and summer.
@@MrFergusonLawn thanks for clearing it up!!! :)
