    • @MustafaMianTheGuyWhoLikesPi
      @MustafaMianTheGuyWhoLikesPi 8 лет назад +43

      It provides a good scale for comparison.
      When talking about Earth's history, people tend to consider humanity's existence as being a very long thing, and life to be almost primordial. Using a scale helps students see how short our time here on earth has actually been.

      The Earth is 4.5 Billion Years Old. The oceans formed when the glaciers melt. The continents are still together and they moved appart into there present position. The half of Florida was underwater then it dried out. Primates were the earliest ancestors of the humans. All humans come from Africa. They lose their hairs. People with white skin were blacks that got paler in the cold wind. Asians had slanted eyes due to high winds. The Bible was written in 900 B.C. The stories in the bible is a parable. People started to belived in God is started with Polytheism. Christianity began in Jerrusalem. The Gregorian Calendar is in the A.D Years. The Months are named by Roman gods Exept to September To December. The English language comes from Greek. Spanish, French, German.

    I really don't get it.. I seriously don't understand why people have to throw their religious beliefs into this.. Why? What does it matter? You can believe what you will, but we're here for facts, believe it or not this is factual. Nothing about this video criticizes god or anything, it's about what we know, and from this forms the question of how we know it; basically to say he'll explain in later videos. This whole "Debate" on evolution is quite chaotic if you ask me, because there's really no debating it, it has more evidence than necessary to be a fact. This guy is basically explaining it all to us, and you all disregard it with answers of chance and god, when really we know most of what had happened. Surely, there are things that we don't know, but we won't sit back and relax saying "Well, god did it". That's not how science works, it studies, evaluates, and explains what IS. So as for your religious beliefs, you may keep them, just keep them to yourself, because we've examined our minds and understand so far that there's nothing that can't be explained while disregarding creation. If you don't already know, science began as the observation of what god had created, later, those early scientists began to disregard a creator because of it, and this doesn't just include evolution or the big bang, it includes all of science, and even then science doesn't prove or disprove a creator, creation is unfalsifiable, can't be proven nor disproven, and that's why it is left out of scientific studies, and after all of that, people still accept science and believe in a creator, scientists who study evolution have religious people within their studies, and same with many other branches of science. It's all an opinion.

    • @ric4397
      @ric4397 9 лет назад +2

      Im for fact also but all the evidence for evolution has been refuted but its still being taught. They they know its wrong, but still believe it and teach it, well i guess that makes it a religion also. Go watch kent hovind's talk on "lies in the textbooks" if you havent.

    • @Alittlebitinteresting
      @Alittlebitinteresting 8 лет назад +3

      AlwaysInnocent Actually that's wrong. A theory is accepted as true because the majority of evidence supports it, it's not based on whether or not it can be disproved. For example, you cannot disprove the existence of a magical unicorn living in the center of the sun however that doesn't mean the unicorn actually exists

    People believe that god created earth and all life on it but you cant just create matter (which makes up everything in the universe) it takes long time even during a stars death or creation. Believe what you want but its highly unlikely that some supernatural being just created the world we live on. you have to remember that the Bible was written about 2,000 years ago and people back then were not nearly as advanced as today and knew very little about the world.

    The people in the comments section of minute earth are the best.👌Most people here actually know whats up. I'm only 13, but I try to learn as much as I can about science, so i can be some sort of scientist one day.
