Better schools, affordable daycare, living wages…. Worry about that
Less LGBT also
Exactly.
Less people for the rich to exploit.
So, you are willing to burn a society’s population so that the rich wont get richer.
I’m quite sure Mother Nature isn’t complaining.
You know humans are part of nature right.
@@lawrencepascasio2076 of course, but you seemed to miss my point.
@@CeeJai_K explain
@@lawrencepascasio2076 explain what? How humans have been a cancer to this planet? What’s understood, doesn’t need to be explained.
So basically we don’t have enough workers for the oligarchs to sustain profit.
In 30 years the US won't have enough doctors, nurses etc to take care of sick or elderly people. It's already happening in Japan. Her point is that while it's not a bad thing to have population decline, countries and people need to prepare for that change in the future.
@@suelyons531then the government needs to fund higher education, the same they fund wars.
@@suelyons531 AI and automation will mitigate those issues, and probably far more efficiently. Now we're reliant on cheap labor from developing countries to do that, which is not sustainable longterm.
@@Raja1938lol. Nope.
@@suelyons531 Haven't you been keeping up with how robots are picking vegetables? They are also doing parts of surgeries. I can see a robot lifting someone out of a bed and serving them food.
I thought we were worried about overpopulation
It's a myth. Get out and travel the world a little bit.
It is a concern, but the powers that be need people to exploit 😂 Who wants to subject their kid to that kind of reality?
We are simply because even countries like the US, despite knowing that places like Mumbai, India are far worse, the US still doesn't have its 💩 together enough to take on more than it can. With no guarantee that things will get any better, who the Duck wants to raise a child knowing how expensive things are right now? F this.
@@tryphenarose384thanks for your non-answer. Why do you say it’s a myth? What do you base that on?
Never!
Good. Less wage slaves for the elite and less cannon fodder.
Ironically this will make more wage slaves. Instead of being at home with people you love now companies can ensure your entire life is wasted working for a souless corporation that will replace you as soon as it's convenient. Just look at the work-life balance of countries that aren't having any kids at all Japan, China, Korea etc.
Bingo!!
Right, because when populations were lower, no one took advantage of anyone else, and there were no wars. 🙄
AI and robots will replace humans in lower level jobs and that will be good.
@@Qilin_Pegasusthat’s fine. I’ll take that to prevent more suffering.
Experts are warning? Are you kidding? We can absolutely do without a couple of billion or more people on this planet.
Agreed lol we saw a bigger crash in stats in the markets in 2022 that’s something to be concerned about not the 2.3% drop in fertility 😂
Wait until you and everyone else is elderly and no one to take care of us or contribute to economy.
Exactly why does the media want even more people??
But you can be here?
Google is Free, take 2 minutes to figure out why this is a massive issue
Doesn’t surprise me. People are waking up. Why would people have children in a miserable world. We can barely afford to survive alone in this world. Why would we want to subject our children to a world that is dangerous to us on all sorts of levels.
I could’ve written this myself. You’re not wrong!
Agree. I don't want my children to suffer.
Right. It’s a good time to be child free.
Agreed. When you know your children would have a more dangerous and difficult life than you had, reproducing doesn’t sound like a great idea.
Agreed. Too much instability in today's world.
"The wolf are shaking in fear because the sheep are not reproducing"
Economies shouldn’t be tied to population growth.
😂 but debt yes. How pay for this debt is it not younger generation
@@carkawalakhatulistiwa Defaults. The money never existed in the first place - no gold standard to tie it down to.
Unfortunately it’s unavoidable. Whether the economy depends on consumption or production, people kind of need to exist for either to take place.
With all of the mystery chemicals in our bodies, it’s no surprise it’s affecting fertility. Plus having kids is EXPENSIVE.
Right?!?! Tyson (chicken) just got hit with being responsible for dumping chemicals into our US water ways illegally and too much of it, Flint Michigan isn't over, the people and families of East Palestine, Ohio are frightened over the long term chemicals of the train derailment accident and I just watched a PBS documentary about NY's LOVE CANAL chemical dump that caused hundreds of families and citizens heartache and anguish in the 1970's. The US and the world aren't prepared for taking on another boom of children.
The other thing to add is that Florida conservatives are attempting to lower the age of labor down to 14 so kids can start working earlier, which just quick starts these young individuals to become yet a number in hopes to tax them to assist saving Social Security or worse yet, waste their hard earned taxes like us adults.
Especially when governments enact policies that doesn't incentivize families.... child, we got governors in the Midwest who cut funding for low income people on food stamps... evil...
8 billion people on the planet - plenty enough to go around.
But it isn't going around.
Yeah, it's all being controlled by an every shrinking few
When the worst of climate change hits the planet they are really gonna panic.
The world’s population was 2.3 billion in 1950. We are at 8.2 billion now. I think we’ll be fine.
Than again many alive in 1950 are also alive today, just because the number count is high doesn't mean people are fertile and youthful, also it's a local phenomena, it's not a matter of human extinction, it's a matter of what is the South Korea, Italy ,Germany, etc of the future,..
I was an engineer and a parent. Being a parent was harder. Both of my jobs were good for the economy, but only one paid me and gave me benefits, the other was looked down on by society.
I have never heard of anyone looking down on parents. Who was looking down on you? What did they say?
I remember when I wanted to be a parent. How I underestimated it's difficulty. Can't imagine being one now, I don't like being around anyone.
@@SC-sh6ux Pardon me. Who have you observed looking down on parents? What did they say?
So many look down on parents or even the idea of parenthood. You are right.
I can't speak for the commenter, but while parenthood is expected to of people, they are given very little support in terms of funding for childcare (or stipends for domestic labor as stay at home parents). We don't given people adequate time off for having children in the US, people don't have enough sick days to take care of their kids when they are sick, and it's just overall really expensive and draining for a lot of people. So while people by and large don't go around saying "ew how dare you become a parent," we don't have the infrastructure to support families and children in the US.
Perhaps because so many of us don't want to bring children in this depraved world. We're so divided on many levels it's no wonder relationships are not sustainable.
Human population has declined many times in history. This is the first time it is a decline in the birthrate instead of an increase in the deathrate.
Not the first time. Same thing happened in Roman Empire ca. 18 BC when Augustus felt it was necessary to pass the "lex Iulia de maritandis ordinibus" to tackle the childlessness and the unmarried. Albeit the cause for plummeting birth rates was different back then.
I had custody of my siblings for a few years and I can tell you kids will do nothing other than keep you broke and make your life ten times harder.
Why would people want kids? Also the world is already overpopulated, so this is a great thing. The panic comes from capitalism and governments just wanting more consumers and taxpayers.
The only thing this proves is the experts have failed to see how miserable life has become 😂
Stop strangling the middle class and lowering quality of living and expecting people to want to still have kids.
What this guy said.
Pay us and provide Healthcare. That's a start. Having kids is really a privilege only those who have good pay , health care , and means for child care if needed. The rest of us are trying and are still falling short. Can't bring a child into that.
@jasm5213
So true. Adding healthcare on top of everything else we have to pay for is what makes it to much , to expensive. Plus there's needing healthcare exactly when we'd be sick and least able to work.
That’s what happens when cost of living is high
Young Men & Women dont want to have kids
I also think more abortions are taking place too

@Madamchief Shouldn't be fornicating and having sex before marriage either. Shame needs to be brought back.
Isn't that a good thing?? Everyone was warning of overpopulation and not enough resources and all the ill effects of human activity and now they're complaining about the population dropping.
With states banning abortion....the US will certainly see an increase in a few years and that will continue......to our detriment btw.
Corporations are afraid they won’t have enough people to control.
Ya, that's what got me thinking, too. People were screaming about overpopulation, but now they're talking about low birth rates being down.
It’s not actually it would be good if the people left would be young. If the ones left are old you can sustain a species with old people that can’t make more people.
@@imanigordon6803This makes no sense. People aren't going to stop having kids. They just won't have as many.
Dear lord, there are billions of people. I think we will be okay. There are far too many people to sustain a healthy environment already.
8 billion people in the world seems like more than enough.
Extremely full. No need for more.
Problem is western countries have pensions scheme, so who is going to pay for them if there’s only a few young people and off course the USA will become even less competitive
It’s not the number. It’s the number over the age of 65.
@@santostv.Yeah, these pensioners are the same people who grudge food assistance to poor children, but demand that people keep having children to support THEM.
@@Nomen.Monniker I think that’s a usa problem and not a world one, if you have a kid you get a check from the government every month depending on your income, if you are poor schools lunch is free, if you are above poor you pay 50%, daycare nowadays is free but is difficult to find vacancies first the one’s,we also have daycare that payment is based on income ect
What? This is a great news!
Why would you want earth to be perpetually overpopulated?
This isn’t the 15th century. If we go from 8 billion to 6 billion, *GOOD!*
Concerned about an over populated planet being less populated??
Responsible people wouldn't bring a child into a very unstable world where our very humanity is disregarded in the name of profits.
Recently I went to give an interview and you know what the HR said. We will only hire you if you agree to work 7 days a week. Yes, that's what they told to everyone.
They always know that people are desperate enough.
This 997 jobs are not what I want for my children. No thanks.
Some women just don’t want kids, or want them later. A lot of women suffering from pcos or endometriosis or any other issues that can influence their fertility are often diagnosed way too late in life. So late that it can mean that now they have either do ivf or let go of their dream of becoming a mother.
War also kills people too
ppl can't afford housing... whose going to think about add more mouths to feed? A decline in populations is a symptom of an inhospitable environment. I keep fish and it's the same with an aquarium. When the environment isn't optimal... the fish won't multiply either. If you look at the environment, you can see why ppl aren't having more babies.
True! Lots of animal species manage their populations.
Rats eat their young if they are overcrowded.
I'd really rather we don't get to that point.
We can't even afford ourselves.
Birth rates have been down for decades. The only reason the population has continued to grow is increased life expectancy.
The most fascinating statistic I’ve seen as that women having children aren’t statistically having smaller families. It’s just that so many have opted out all together.
kids are too expensive, were just trying to survive at this point.
If basic life necessities weren’t so expensive and housing wasn’t so scarce then we would be having kids. But we can’t even get our foot into the door of a home in a safe area…And we both have good jobs. Soooooooo
And you're doing better than alot of people. I've seen homeless FAMILIES WITH KIDS a few times this year already - and it's only May ☹️
@@Here4TheHeckOfItJust seen a Texas couple on the news, you can find it on YT here (recent news)... but it's about a grandfather who warned the hospital not to let his daughter and her boyfriend take their newborn out of the hospital because they were homeless. The couple was allowed to leave with their baby and were living in a tent out on the streets. 🤯🤦🏻♂️ How TF does CPS not be called to take the baby away when the grandfather KNEW his own daughter and the baby father weren't fit to be parents?!? The companies: nooo who will turn our switches and levers for $15 an hour 😭😭😭
Fewer workers means they will have to start paying $25 an hour at the minimum and nobody, not even the most desperate person, will work for anything less.
@@evilds3261 why wouldn’t they? These job suck
So what is it? We are complaining about too many people on this planet that we have to support; now we are complaining about a decrease in population? 😮😂
Isn't this a good thing? It is hardly the case that the human race is on the verge of extinction.
Right 🤣
Even parasites are more harmonious with nature 😂
I don't think those voicing pro-natalist policy is worried about the extinction of the human race, they'd be worried about the survival of culture and the system, every nation is a system that will function only as good as the resources it has available, it's a question what are the functions/goals the system has and what are the resouces neccesary to achieve these things, can you produce economical assets, can you educate children, can you build new homes and facilities, can you take care of the old?. The notion that a such mankind created system that (optimistically) exist to serve its human citizens will only function better if there was less (and older) humans?. It's absurd. I think this perspective stems from people being born into a resourceful society so they unconsciously believe that there's a set resources that's part of nature that only needs to be distributed, oblivious to the obvious reality that these resources only exist as a result of human labor. To the extent things can be decoupled from human labor and done by technology than there's other conversations to be had
This is great news! Hopefully this trend continues 😊
If you could have just have 1 kid or none, you are saving yourself from economic hardship and suffering.
One kid is plenty.
I have 4 children and don’t suffer at all. In fact, the sacrifices made to be a mother are more than worth it. However, who cares if the population falls. lol. There’s plenty here already screwing everything up

@@ps7348 I was an only child. Didn’t like it. Def wanted siblings. lol
I pray everyday traffic lessens a bit - support population decline ✊
No children will no longer suffer the atrocities of this planet yes!!!!
we dont need to replace the population
Why do we want to sustain the global population?
Because we don’t want an earth that’s full of old people that can’t have kids or work. That’s the worst possible scenario
There are too many people already.
Treat women and children better, bring back families/healthy communities. Make childcare, medicine, food, homeownership affordable. Give women maternity leave.
Significantly Reduce the cost of university.
Make the world safer
All continents are letting their population slips down except for Africa.
Predatory student loans and car loans and housing costs are the reason why I’ll never get to be a mother. I don’t even date out of the sheer fear of it all
Maybe if you just do not get those things then you will not have those costs. The problem is that regardless if a woman does not have those things majority of men have already been excluded from or have left the dating pool because women want only the top 5% of men.
That's ridiculous. If there aren't enough people, the lines to get service are just gonna get longer. Worst case, people don't get the help they need and the population, naturally, goes back to normal sustainable numbers.
It’s already happening to some degree in my country
And before they were warning about overpopulation...
Can’t afford them and a house.
When I was a kid it was 5 billion people. Now it’s 8 billion. A population plateau not brought about by mass death is welcome news.
I remembered when it was 7 billion people.
Make life affordable.. simple
Better for the planet
Well then experts need to do something about the pollutants in our environment and also the economy.
It is about money. People cannot afford to have children. It is pretty simple.
The world 🌎 has to take better care of women period.
Fewer people but more AI systems and advanced robots for purposes of productivity. It means more space for people to live and less scarcity when it comes to food, labor, and resources. If we manage this right (a big "IF") we could be heading for Utopia.
It's a global credit (debt) problem. The population was growing on a relatively shallow slope for hundreds of years. Once credit (debt) became easy, you see the population explode to the upside in the 1900s. This results in high education costs, high housing costs, high vehicle costs. All are a symptom of the use of credit and debt. Now the whole world is fighting inflation and very high costs of living. People don't care about relationships or building families when they have to find a way to support themselves first.
They call this a fertility issue? This is people making a choice based on what is affordable and balancing work life time. Having kids is expensive. Calling it a fertility issue makes it sound like there is something wrong and turns this into propaganda.
It's all the forever chemicals (which are linked to decreased fertility in men) and micro plastics which are also linked to decreased fertility.
No, it’s because raising a family has become too expensive.
@@tominmtnvw agreed, definitely cost a living. But I'm sure the forever camels aren't helping
That’s the thing about these experts defining “fertility”, it’s like do they mean voluntary or involuntary or both? The forever chemicals fall under the involuntary category. Oh no, what did humans do before when we had millions less people than we have now.. It's going to be fine
She didn't say it was bad. She said people and countries need to be aware of this and prepare and she's right.
Well, previously we had fewer people, but most were young. In the future, the population will be overwhelmingly elderly and unable to work. So the question becomes, what happens when there’s billions of very old people and no young people left to work. The answer is that billions will die. Mass starvation, mass death from lack of medical care, etc. Governments will collapse from the loss of tax revenue and the explosion of welfare expenses. Children born today will pay the price for this.
@@cawheeler27 Exactly this.

I don’t understand why these “experts” don’t understand the worldwide birth rate decline. When people don’t have job security with good pay in a crazy, unpredictable world, it makes sense why people aren’t coupling, getting married and having kids. Feminism is to blame too. The bad economy is probably the biggest reason for the massive decline.

Both partners have to work full time either pay rent or a mortgage. Daycare is 1-2K. Hospitals are 1-3K if you are not getting insurance. Groceries are expensive for just a few items. People are paying 400K or half a million dollars for for homes. Cars are expensive. Education is expensive. And they wonder why there's a decline of births. It's so simple, it's getting harder to thrive. Plus our leadership doesn't care for anyone except their own agendas. I think we are preparing for the worst to come. It's certainly going to get worse. I'm seeing a lot of friends staying single and prefer or moving in with other friends, all successful people.
Let’s be real we could do with less people, however this should be concerning for people that actually want to have kids, I wonder how much of it is the chemicals and garbage in our environment and our food. Also keep in mind the birth rate and rates of infertility are not necessarily the same thing although infertility rates are going up as well.
Experts in what? Grifting the common man?

The problem of overpopulation has to be resolved by renewable energy. This is considering that renewable energy is already cheaper than fossil fuel whereas it takes time for population to drop
