  • The Biden administration argues China subsidizes its products so aggressively and produces them at such scale it undermines other countries' economic output, which should be a global concern. Last week, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen asked her European counterparts for help. Mark Wu, professor of law at Harvard University, joins CBS News to discuss whether a multi-national approach could produce real results.

  • @user-ne8yi1io4h

Here we go again…. Not a day goes by without war talk or economic war talk. So tired of this.

  • @amywheelwright3146

The US subsidizes its business too. The difference is, the US subsidies go to those companies' shareholders and top management, the Chinese subsidies go to the consumers as cheaper products, including US consumers.

  • @designrama68

2009 - 2023 our government gave $2.8 billions to Tesla alone. Every country subsides its major industry. Stop complaining and start competing.

  • @franklay5605

Wake up to yourself Europe you have learned the lesson from the North Stream gas pipelines

  • @kawaitheam3418

Telling lies after lies to earn a living. What a pity to her. Why the Director did not mentioned the US and EU also subsidizes the player's? Is he giving a biased information?

  • @slowwalker1061

for example, US told Australia to not friendly with & did accordingly. Ended up exports of Lobsters, Wines etc. blocked. US then sell those to them. Still sleeping? Take care.

  • @Shadowscares433

Yes cheap but good quality products that America and now the EU made double the price but low quality products 😂😂😂😂

  • @jackiepaper101

I prefer the Chinese system where products are affordable. I don't care if Western corporations profits go down.

  • @hitthedeck4115

Sounds like the '80s when Japanese semiconductors and cars were at "overcapacity" and flooded the global market.

Wait, when the US dominated the auto industry for decades.. not a problem! Another country uses the same play book.. and now it's a problem! Hilarious 😂

  • @rybfish76

China is getting punished for doing too well, what a tragic timeline we're living in.

So capitalism is only ok if it’s not China doing it 😂😂😂😂

  • @kimandstevelimmcintyre657

Instead of finding a way to be better or more competitive, US and EU chose to blame and complaint. This is self defeating, pathetic and moronic.

  • @peterbedford2610

Don't buy US treasuries, don't sell to US

  • @TheSingularity8

So they claim that China subsidizes goods that Americans buy? So the CCP pays for part of goods that I buy. Why is that a bad thing?

  • @jklee5419

The US loves inflation so much that it fears the foreign products are too cheap.

  • @wepatopatore7675

No wonder why things are getting expensive and expensive every day
