    One thing about the janitor is that he isn't actually covering his face. That IS his face. Basically, his skin is falling off his head, and it folded over his eyes, so that's why he's blind. Also, the head above the skin is his skull.
    Edit: Guys, it's not a mask. If you go on the wiki, it literally explains what I just said

    For the Granny, people theorize that she pursues the player not out of malice but because she craves interaction. If she lived alone for so long with no one to spend time with she would be desperate for social interaction. It is also theorized that she was the previous Lady of the Maw, since for the current one we see at the end of the DLC that her face is beginning to sag like the Granny's

    Spoliers for Little Nightmares 2!
    I’m probably wrong here, but this is my theory on the Hunter. I don’t think he lived his whole life in the forest. I always thought that little heart etched into the tree was just a cute detail, and not connected to this villain at all. I’m guessing that the Hunter used to live in the Pale City, (or at least watched the TVs). Like the other viewers, his body - mostly his face - became distorted, but he managed to snap out of the trance before getting fully sucked in. He decided to flee into the forest where no one could see his disfigurement, and stay away from the heart of the broadcast. Somehow (I really don’t know how) the Hunter figured out that Mono is the Thin Man. He wants to kill Mono, hoping to end the time loop, and by extension, the broadcast, so no one else could be mishapen like him. This is why Six is in the Hunter’s basement. She’s bait for Mono. This is why the Hunter only shoots at Mono. Revenge. At least that’s my guess.

    I feel like the entire story of Little Nightmares is a symbolism of someone's childhood. The thin man might symbolise a boy's father who have a very high position in a company and wants his son to join him in his business, which the son refuses but one way or another the son still grew up to inherit his father's job. The disfigurement caused by the TVs might be a symbolism of what adults who are addicted to TVs appear to children: soulless and sometimes mad at the children if they interrupts the show. The doctor might be an actual doctor in a child's life that always make them afraid. (I mean seriously who's not afraid of doctors when they're 5 lol) The Lady might be a symbolism of a mother who's overly obsessed with beauty, an irl problem associated with younger people. The chefs might be restuarant workers who sometimes scares the children when they see the knives and violent swinging actions who will shoo the children away when they walks too close. Overall, this series depricts an overexaggerated version of innocent childhood 'horrors' that's magnified so adults can experience it again.

Mono is taken from monophobia, fear of being alone, he does everything in his power to save six to not be/feel like he's the only one running and surviving, ironically she's the reason why he'll be alone and a slave to the tower forever doing it's bidding. His story is being abandoned by the very person he felt comfort towards. There are some aspects that are from a child's perspective, but the majority are actually from adults. In the first game, the Lady was damaged by looking at her own reflection. A sense of insecurity of her aging and an obsession with getting younger by absorbing the feasting guest's life force. The guests represent greed and no self-control of food intake. It also probably represents how they eat to satisfy/feel "better" in the gloomy dark world they live in or experience every day.

    I heard a theory awhile back that I found quite interesting.
    In Very Little Nightmares, we can find a family portrait of the Pretender and her parents. However, due to how short the Pretender is, we’re only able to see their legs.
    _But their clothes match The Thin Man and The Teacher._
    The theory is that time works differently inside the Signal Tower, so Mono grew up into The Thin Man, married The Teacher, and The Pretender is his kid.
    It also theorized that he was The Hanging Man, and that after The Pretender was “killed” by Six, he brought her onto The Maw as revenge, before offing himself out of grief.
    It was a few years ago so I might be missing a few details.

    • @phineaslikesart
      @phineaslikesart 5 месяцев назад +50

      I would say that the Hanging Man and the Thin Man are two different characters purely based on the fact that the Thin Man is stuck in a time loop and probably couldn’t escape the pale city. Similarly I’d say that the Hanging Man is the Pretender’s father because there’s another painting seen in the nest of his feet alone which match exactly the feet on the portrait of the Pretender with her parents

    • @Harpie8615
      @Harpie8615 2 месяца назад +3

      Honestly this is a great theory but the Thin Man part doesn’t make sense, he was locked in the signal tower for his entire life, he never had time to get married or even have a kid, but even when he was released, his main goal was to catch Six and guide Mono to the tower, and since from what I know, Very Little Nightmares was the first game and why would Mono/Thin Man marry the Teacher? He was terrified of her and would never marry her, and she probably wouldn’t have said yes so she could continue her teaching career

    i think LNs shows/symbolize how f*cked up is the society when you grow up and turned into adult, as a child you see the world as a big and colorful place, you always find it amusing because its all new to your eyes(like a playground, cities with enormous establishments and to be specific - amusement parks), you always see the brightside in everything, then suddenly someone or something will change your perspective. Since the characters are children, you can feel their innocence and curiosity - you can also feel their fear (in the unknown), like you don't know the place/s and people outside your circle, what's gonna happen.. something like that, but also the children symbolizes optimism and hope, that's why they always going through the challenges even though they have limited capacities. My theory for the maw:
    The Lady placed a “curse” on a town of regular humans, making them glutenous and therefore fat. This would attract them to the newly advertised ship, with unlimited food. I think the food is made from both the children and former guests. The Lady has employed multiple people (with the money from the guests for the tickets) to allow this operation to take place. The Janitor’s job is to prepare the children that have been delivered and catch intruders (possibly ship tech too). The Chefs’ job is to butcher and cook the prepared children and former guests. The whole operation is so the Lady can satisfy her need for souls by taking those of the guests (then sending them for cooking for the next lot).
    Maybe a bonus is she has employed the Ferryman to deliver the children to be dealt with, since we saw his supposed boat, and that tv song was probably about him.

      @@SquishyTheVampire I think she does know something, or at least put a few pieces together. She seems to have no empathy for threats, like breaking the hand's fingers in the hospital, strangling the bully, and warming her hands when the doctor burns. I think she might've realized mono was the same person as the tall man, or at least that they're similar enough that he might be a threat to her, and lost her empathy for him/became scared of him. She clearly still cares a little, by grabbing his hand at all, so I imagine it was a hard choice for her. He did help her a lot throughout the game.
      EDIT: HIS FACE!! I just saw someone else talking about it in another comment section, that's the first time she really gets a look at his face!! The thin man doesn't wear a mask so she must recognize then that they're the same/related somehow

    I found this very popular theory about the hanging man. The hanging man was the thin man. Because Little Nightmares 2 is a prequel to Little Nightmares 1 and it's confirmed when you fought the nightmare version of Six, you could see the exact same suitcase you played as Six thats open with little pictures inside it. And when you unlock a secret ending at Little Nightmares 2 when Six came through the TV, the "glitched" version of herself pointed at the poster about The Maw. But, I don't know why the thin man wanted to come to the Maw? Maybe take revenge after she "betrayed" (?) Mono? I have no clue myself. But thats one of the most popular mysteries of the Little Nightmares world.

    Because of the portraits in the lady's chambers and other evidence throughout the games I think the hanging man is the lady's son and the granny is her daughter, to start i think the dark shadow children in the dlc and the lady turning the runaway kid into a nome proves that the lady takes the lifeforce of children probably to preserve her own life and so the lady locks the granny, her daughter down in the depths to protect her from herself and this would also explain why she looks far older than her mother, more evidence for this is that in the portrait of the little girl in the lady's chambers she's wearing the same dress that can be found at the start of the granny's area meaning that she probably discarded the dress as she outgrew it, it also makes sense that the lady would be more pissed at the runaway kid than she was with six because he killed her daughter. The evidence for the hanged man being the lady's son is that in Little nightmares 2 there is a small apartment room with easter eggs from the first game, a doll of the lady and also a picture of her, and similar slippers to the ones that can be found in the hanging man's room so I think the lady's son left the maw to go live in the pale city which is why his eyes are scratched out of the portrait and it has been taken off the wall, there is also a shrine to the lady in a hidden area in the first game and another note like the one he left before he committed suicide, I think he loved and idolised his mother so he left the pale city and went back to the maw but when he saw what was truly going on with imprisoning and eating children as well as his own mother absorbing the life force of countless children and turning them into nomes plus the slaughtering of all the guests that enter to sustain the maw and feed the next guests that arrive, and also realising he couldn't go back to the pale city because of the transmission and all the other fucked up shit he decided to end his pain and take his own life.

    A theory that isn’t mine, but now that I know about it, I can’t help but believe it: the Lady did have kids, but she didn’t birth them of course, she took them in. Those two kids are seen in the first game: the Granny, and the Hanging Man. In the Lady’s bedroom, we see two paintings of children, one in a yellow raincoat, and one in a dress. The dress looks highly reminiscent of the dress found in the Granny’s domain, not the one she was wearing, obvs. As for why the Lady would lock her own daughter in the basement, it’s because the Lady didn’t wish to consume her daughter. The Lady has consumed the spirits of children, but yet she still yearns to be a mother, seen by her humming a lullaby while nursing a baby doll. As for the Hanging Man, I think the Lady had two children, a son and a daughter. While the Hanging Man connection is a bit loose, I think this explanation makes sense: the Hanging Man left the Maw and went to the Pale City. In the Pale City, there’s a room that can be found that features Maw memorabilia, and a statue of the Lady. Whoever goes to the Maw usually doesn’t leave, so why would a person on the mainland know about the Lady and the Maw, if they didn’t leave it? As for what happened to him, after the TV plague began, he left and returned home, but was in hiding. The man wasn’t corrupted, but he was scarred, and if he realized the cruelty of his mother, it’d make sense that he’d commit die (or someone murdered him on behalf of his scornful and mourning mother, and make it look like a self death). Plus, that would explain how Six got to the Maw: she snuck into the Hanging Man’s suitcase, hence why she’s in the suitcase and is in the room next to the Hanging Man.

    Glad that you mentioned a possible foul play with the hanging man, I always personally believed something was up with that.
    my personal theory is that her accession to becoming the Governess of the Maw was a fairly bloody affair. Judging by the blotched out portraits of other geisha, the Granny being exiled to the depths of the maw, and her dark magic.
    Something must've happened with these two that could make her either have him killed or played a part in his death. Especially with the chair not being knocked over, and the Hanging Man’s feet being above the chair.

Unable to see what the worst horrors bring the children he help into the Nowhere. He can see some things, but he sees them as a good change nonetheless. The manipulation of a better world by means of horrors and this twisted world, makes it more the child's naive choice, rather than the Ferryman's.

    Cool that you’re able to create such content, I mean it’s not that we really get any information about the adults, so it’s cool to watch your thoughts, interpretations and theories about them. Every fan has his own speculation about Little Nightmares, as example I think that the real victim in Little Nightmares is Six, all the other children too but they are also the reason for her trauma. Six is one of the anti heros who became an anti hero in front of our eyes. To be honest I’m convinced that Six deserves a psychological analysis of her personality cause she’s very deep. But some of the fans don’t really like or even hate her cause she betrayed Mono and killed a rat, the janitor, a nome, a lot of guests and the lady. But these are just consequences of her being like a sponge to every experience she has in such a cruel and terrifying world cause she’s an innocent child. If Mono would leave Six in the tower she would be to be honest much happier. The developers officially explained that technically Six didn’t feel any pain or discomfort while she was deformed monster and more happy than not. The first time in her life she got time to calm down and just take a break of all the stress this world gifts the children. If that’s the case than technically Mono took her out of her safe zone and brought her back into the nightmare. Just think about it: Mono took her out of a safe zone in the forest at the start of the game, then was cold with her and left her with the bulllies, then Betrayed her and didn’t try to help when she was caught by the Thin Man (technically he’s the one who’s guilty that he even found out that they exist and where they are) and when she found a safe zone Mono destroys it so when she wakes she’s in shock of nightmare that became from something little bullies and adults to unexplained monsters made of flesh and eyes that slowly swallowing the whole room they’re in. It’s kinda a unhealthy relationship for her cause every time she was with him she hides from monster from monsters and is in danger. I like Mono but he’s in the first place the only reason why she had to go through all of it. When she “breaks up with him and letting him go in the tower” she can’t continue being innocent and kind. Mono broke her and now she only can think about surviving the nightmares she lives in.
    Now I want to write more, I notice how I went into the wrong direction but I hope you know what I mean with Little Nightmares being open for interpretations, speculations and theories and goes very deep
    Anyway can’t wait to watch you videos that are going to come out soon (I hope soon but everyone’s unique in the amount of time he needs for concrete tasks so take your time)

    I think the adults in the game are all the kids after they have survived and succumb to the hunger. i.e. the kid that wished he was a twin became the fat twin chefs, the kid that saw himself 7ft tall is the person that was hanging dead, Mono the thin man. Basically if you don’t get your essence talk and become Nome then you just live long enough to be whatever is was you saw in the mirror. The grandma is the Daughter of the geisha. It’s goes on… just my thoughts probably wrong but these games and the whole world are so fun to speculate on.

    Something about The Barber reminds me of a character from a childrens book i think my mom got for me and my sister when we were little little.
    Der Struwwelpeter by Heinrich Hoffman. A collection of cautionary tales.
    One of the tales in it, The Story of Little Suck-A-Thumb and one of the characters in that tale is what seems to be a potential source of inspiration. It goes like this:
    One day, Mamma said, "Conrad dear,
    I must go out and leave you here.
    But mind now, Conrad, what I say,
    Don't suck your thumb while I'm away.
    The great tall tailor always comes
    To little boys that suck their thumbs.
    And ere they dream what he's about
    He takes his great sharp scissors
    And cuts their thumbs clean off, - and then
    You know, they never grow again."
    Mamma had scarcely turn'd her back,
    The thumb was in, alack! alack!
    The door flew open, in he ran,
    The great, long, red-legged scissorman.
    Oh! children, see! the tailor's come
    And caught our little Suck-a-Thumb.
    Snip! Snap! Snip! the scissors go;
    And Conrad cries out - Oh! Oh! Oh!
    Snip! Snap! Snip! They go so fast;
    That both his thumbs are off at last.
    Mamma comes home; there Conrad stands,
    And looks quite sad, and shows his hands;-
    "Ah!" said Mamma "I knew he'd come
    To naughty little Suck-a-Thumb."
