These are lovely new products that that they leave a very nice effects. Thanks for sharing this techniques Stewart well done thanks again cu in the next video bye till than bye and take care.
That was AWESOME Stewart!! Love those colors with the grain of the wood. It did have a kind of silvery look in different angles but I saw more of the turquoise. Stunning, you did good. (I'm catching up on videos. Binge watching Ima Survivor Sanctuary on RUclips. Love the animals!) Thanks for sharing your creativity with me again. Stay safe, Vickie
I have tried so many things too to get a nice result with spray paint. But you could always scratch of the lacquer pretty easily afterwards. Finally got some feedback from a paint specialist. Lacquer never sticks on wax because it never completely cures where his words
That is a nice effect, great color with the black. It would be fun to play with color combinations with that, both background colors and even combining wax colors on one piece. Now I'm wondering if I can get my hands on them in time for some toys I need to make. It could create a little interest in a toy in motion. Thanks for kicking the thought process off!
Hi Stewart, That Rainbow Wax really does look amazing. Might just have to go and look on Chestnut's website. Take care Stewart and see you soon now. Cheers, Huw
LOL, Stewart on Saturday. A whole day early! ❤️ Could you do White liming wax, then add your own color? What color, dye or paint could you blend into the wax before applying? Acrylic paint? Love the stunning effect over the black paint. Even if just a practice piece.
Wow Stewart, absolutely love the vibrancy of that and perfectly demonstrated on that piece. New product I assume as not spotted before, have to get a selection of those! Thanks Terry for new product and thanks Stewart for great demo, although twelve minutes and forty-six seconds is not enough to completely fill my needs for a Furini fix :)
Nice one. Do you happen to know if the Rainbow waxes similar to the Inka Gold range? Those are an acrylic gloss paint combined with wax so they are a permanent finish which can be burnished. Whereas these look more like a coloured wax… Cheers
Cheers, Malcolm....did some digging online...they certainly look similar to me and I wouldn't put a lacquer over a surface completely covered with the rainbow wax, but for this application it's worked fine.
Hi Roy....maybe...didn't occur to me to that at the time but I guess it may have given more of a shine to the rainbow wax but the lacquer does that as well. Cheers!
Looks amazing 👌🏼 question about the liming brush…. After you’ve sanded up to your final grit, you scrub out the grain with the brush, then apply the ebonising lacquer. Does the brush not cause a lot of fine scratches as well as cleaning out the grain? Which you’d then have to sand out, refilling the grain and end up in a constant cycle until you sanded the piece into oblivion 😂
Thanks, Mark - no scratches left by the brush that I can see - although the bristles have a metal coating it is very soft - a harder metal bristle would scratch but these ones don't . Cheers!
Is the liming brush any different from a scrub brush? Or are the bristles different? Look like they could be brass. Does the wax really have a drying time? I think the colors came out great on this piece, even though you said there were some rough spots or scratches. Thanks.
Striking result, Stuart. Take care.
Thank you very much! Glad you like it. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing!
Cheers, Jude!
I love these waxes, they dilute well so you can mix them with the acrylic paints as well.
They are great fun....still much more to try with them!
Very impressive Stewart :)

It almost looks like Malachite. Very nice! Interesting, Stewart. 💜
Thanks, Tracey....hmmmmm...got me thinking now! Cheers!

You're quite right about lacquer on wax...rainbow waxes have an acrylic base so don't quite react in the same way.
That looks really nice, Stewart. You should make a keeper like it. Take care.
Bill
Thanks 👍

Nice ideas, Bill - hope you get to try them out. Cheers!
Fit for the wood burner. Lovely piece of wood turning killed off by ugly finishes
Not one of your favourites then! I like the effect but I know it's not for everyone. Cheers!
"I should know better but I don't" lol the story of my life
Haha....story of most of our lives, I suspect!!

Glad you liked it, Huw - a simple technique but great colours in the range!

Thanks, Valerie....I'm sure you could colour liming wax....might it try one day!

Could you have turned the lave on and buffed it before the sanding sealer

Thanks, Joseph. A stiff bristled brush might well do. The liming brush has brass on the bristles but it is a quite soft brass.
