Yes, Braxton Jones was a 5th Round pick. He played every offensive snap last year and PFF had him graded as the 19th best Tackle out of 81 qualifying players last year. On a related note, PFF has Tevin Jenkins ranked as the 3rd best Guard(out of 77). That is 40% of an offensive line right there.
and nate davis is solid. All they need is a center not named sam musipher and a good right tackle from the draft and they will be solid. Claypool mooney and moore will be dangerous. Not to mention a surging cole Komet and super good redzone threat in Robert tonyan. This offense will be scary next year. Mark my words they will be top 15 offense . Dont be supposed of they crack the top 10
Awesome breakdown 👌 Bears have already built an infrastructure. Now with all the draft picks omg are they going hard. They can even trade that #9 for an all star if there's someone still on the board another team needs. Subbed and liked. Good job

I can not wait to watch my Lions against your Bears. Twice!! Love what you guys are doing but I think we’re still gonna get ya. Be fun games for the next few years.
Braxton jones can become a top 5 LT in the NFL, and I know this is insane when you look at where he was taken, but his main issue is strength on the bull rush and hand placement, the easiest things to fix on an Olineman, if he develops to his full potential it’ll be probably one of the biggest steals of the past 5 years
Well said. Bears aren’t blowing their money/picks/players like most trigger happy general managers/teams cough cough Ryan Pace. Building it correctly. Projects/coaching/building anything if life takes time! There are no short cuts!
For the record, there was no overpayment for the entire LB's room. When people say that they're referring to Edmunds exclusively, it's only because it's front-loaded & a high % guaranteed. But the AAV hit isn't that bad actually, And it gets progressively cheaper. But if you think about this in the context of what they did with Roquan Smith, who wanted upwards, 20 million AAV. If you're going from a year by year salary cap basis, the combined salary cap between Edmunds (14.7 Mill. cap) and Edwards (5.0 Mill. cap) is 19.7 million against the cap. That is cheaper than Smith's yearly cap hit as ONE player. So, really, if you think about it, they didn't overpay at all in any way for line backers. They got two starting LBs for the same price of Smith plus a 2nd round selection. The biggest needs are 3-tech, OT, and Edge. Otherwise, the Bears are gunna be back relatively soon baby!! 🔥🐻🔽
Would hope they are improving given the largest cap space and number of top draft picks. Most teams are showing improvement. Bears and Lions lead the charge!
The Bears will be competitive! Teams that play the Bears will find out that this team, that was competitive last year, will take the next step and actually hang on to leads!
@Swaggy Great Video, Bears fan here. I'm not a Coach or anything, but by my estimations we need a solid Offensive Tackle, hybrid D tackle (run stop and pressure) and maybe some more Defensive line depth. With the changes already made plus assuming a smart draft I think we should be contenders next year, and maybe by 2024 a few solid playoff runs...BEAR THE FUCK DOWN!!!
The Bears lost 8 games by a 1 score margin. The Vikings won 11 games by a 1 score margin. That could’ve easily went the other way if you ask me. I believe the bears had the number 1 offense in the league for 8 straight weeks. starting from the Patriots game. That’s insane to think about considering the last time the bears had even a top 5 offense was 1985 if I’m not mistaken. Then they had a few good years with Cutler as an offense, then 2018 with Trubisky, but that’s it. Other than those few times, the Bears offense has been middle of the pack, or at the bottom of the league. That makes what Justin was able to do so much more meaningful.
the bears were intentionally tanking for 9 or 10 games last year. they blew up the defense, traded roquan away. played close for 3 quarters, and then in the 4th they wouldnt even try to win with the play calling. it was obvious they knew somewhere around week 8 this team wasnt gonna win a superbowl, or even make the playoffs, so lets just get fields some experience and go for the best draft pick we can get. they would have a 3rd and 2, get a holding call to make it a 3rd and 12, and then run a HB dive once it was late into the 3rd quarter or beyond, even though they were moving the ball effectively all game. it was the most obvious tanking play calling ever at the end of every game.
One offensive lineman you are forgetting is we grabbed Leatherwood from the Raiders while he was on Waivers last year. They also have more than a couple players who grew up as Bears fans. I feel that those will be the ones to watch. They been waiting for this opportunity all most of their lives
We need to take Paris Johnson jr. Bottom line. He has protected Justin in the past, which means he will protect him now with his life. It will prove to be one hell of a pick.🎉😊

I won't say they are gonna win the Super Bowl this season, but they are continuing to get better! They are gonna be a fun team to watch and a tough team to beat in 2023! Go ahead and enjoy it!
The bears would be silly to move Braxton Jones to right tackle. He had a stand out year and moving him would hinder his progress. Being a fifth round pick, he gets written off a lot but he was the best player on our line last year, and had the same grade as orlando briwn jr

He gets smoked by bull rush would be stupid to keep him there and draft a LT who is 100% better but move him to RT. Braxton behind Jenkins at Lg & the C was one of the biggest o line problems. Wouldn’t exactly call it a “standout year”
@Devn I'm so sick the hype for him and the 5th rd story...He was average at best in all but maybe a handful of games and certainly doesn't look like a permanent answer/starter at LT. He doesn't commit many penalties but he's certainly didn't display any longterm, stud potential.
@@brandonbass1717 He definitely displayed longterm potential, as the year went on he got better, he handled the speed rush better, picked up stunts better, his win% went up, pressures and sacks down, he improved everything you really can in season, his biggest weakness is the bull rush, which anchor strength really not possible to improve in season. Now I see it kinda as a catch 22 situation, while he doesn't seem to be a franchise type LT, if he improves vs the bull rush significantly he would be well above average.....however the right side is generally a mauler and deals with the stronger edges which would amplify the weakness....so whats better? You just earned a sub my guy 😂not saying it means alot but I'm saying you've made me a fan. Your take on our squad is on point. Next video actually go back to last season and ask yourself were they competitive? With all the nothing we had we were in 90% of the games until the end, with the cheating by the NFL 😂etc. I believe we'll exceed 8 games and be closer to 10.5 come seasons end.
Exactly right..they didn’t go out and spend money because the only way to have sustainable success is by drafting and developing.. They didn’t want to win games last season so egot rid of two good defenders who are going to expect more money than they were worth and they didn’t fit the timeline..No big deal.. I just hope they don’t overthink or overlook players because of RAS or some other issue that makes them skip on real talent and a great football player.. and yeah they were very competitive for a team lacking in talent so they can make huge strides with a little more and when a regime of rookie coaches figures things out better their second season.. like players, coaches also have to develop and improve…
Bears will get wild card at least ima bears fan and to me their on the arising to me a championship contender in 2 years if everyone stays healthy 🙏pray for the bears

this dude clearly does not pay attention to NFCN football because the Lions are the betting odds favorites to win the division and that shouldnt be a surprise whos been around this conference. great video tho. some of the best clips put together that ive seen on this topic.
one thing nobody ever mentions, last year the bears were a competitive team that went 3-14, that had almost half of the salary cap as dead cap space. 53 guys got paid a total of half the money almost any other team spent, pole and eberflus then had the chance to pick and choose any player they wanted on that team to stay for another cheap, team friendly deal, so every player on that team that did good, everything on that team that was good, is gonna be there next season, and then you add the fact that they get to actually use all the cap space this year, with far more picks - especially early round picks, thats where the hope lies, thats where we turn into a competitive team with wins and not a competitive team that cant win, the underdog that might spoil a season, were the underdog that can win the season (if all goes right)
What I think would be the best draft, if they instead get Witherspoon or Gonzalez as an elite CB, get an edge rusher 2nd, 3rd for RT, and then the other 6-7 picks for depth. Also you’re right, we had 9 1-possession games or something. So if we had 1 more score we could’ve gotten 12 or so wins or something like that.
@@donttouchmeggriffin we don't have a above average oline ik take completing a good oline then plugging in an elite cb when we already have a GREAT defensive backfield
@@bibitybop5447 you’re joking right? Even with Sam Musipher, by far our worst OL, who is gone, and we still had the #1 run blocking offense in the entire NFL…now we have Nate Davis at LG, Braxton Jones at LT is developing with the upside of an all-pro, Cody Whitehair made the pro bowl at Center and he’s likely moving back there if we keep him this year, Tevin Jenkins at RG is also developing very well…our only weakness is RT…our OL will likely be top 5 this year - metrics shown on ESPN, we had a top 10 line by a few metrics by the end of the season.
Finally someone with some damn sense when it come to Chase Claypool already counting him out which pissed me off. I’ll like after wait after this incoming see then see what he do before writing him off and by then it wouldn’t matter
I bet you the same person who saying they overpaid for our LBs was one who giving roquan 100 mil for 5 years so he making 20 mil per year while Tremaine and TJ combined isn’t making that
What doesn't make sense even more...people saying the Bears overpaid for off-ball LBs but the same people saying Chicago should've gave Roquan more than Edmunds and Edwards combined
claypool is at his best when he is used like the jags use evan engram. teams think, big, tall and fast, so send them down field on vertical routes, which is all the giants did with engram, and it didnt produce good results. the jags said, we are gonna get him running across the field on drags and crossing routes, so hes running away from his defender in open space close to the line, and then let his athleticism take over. look at all of the highlights you just showed of claypool. almost all of the good ones were him running 8 to 12 yard crossing routes.
@@devn266 We’ll see how Jones shows up after the off-season. He may surprise a lot of folks. I hope we get a tackle at 9 but it would be awesome if there was actual competition. Meaning Jones takes a huge step and our line goes from being a weakness to being a strength. Also, I’m sure we’re getting a stud center somewhere in the 2nd/3rd day. Would love to get Wypler too
I like the best two teams in the NFC North in 1 year or two will almost definitely be Lions and Bears. Tell anyone two years ago that the bears and Lions could be good and you would be called mad.
Leave Braxton at LT, move down from #9 & draft Wright with one of your 2nd rd picks. Jenkins will stay at RG, Davis is the LG. You don't want Braxton & Jenkins learning new positions while ascending in their current ones. Draft a RT & a versatile Guard/Center, keep everyone were they are, let them create continuity & get better as a whole.
The Chicago bears and Carolina trade package goes as we got the Panthers 9th pick for our first pick we got a 2024 first-round pick a second-round pick for this year second-round pick for 2025
The Bears definitely got a bunch of different players, but that doesn’t mean much. They got rid of their 2 defensive captains and top running back. They traded for one good receiver in Moore but Fields has not shown much ability to get anyone the ball. He’s a great runner but running QBs rarely last the season. Frankly, this is all on Justin. All these changes were to set him up for success. If he puts up another 2200 yards passing, then what?
Bears will keep Jones at LT, Davis is gonna play LG, Whitehair at Center Jenkins will stay at RG... Broderick Jones is the only true RT in the top 50. No point in switching the line up completely.
The thing about "overpaying" linebackers. Bears just paid tj edwards AND Edmunds, combined, the same as what roquan smith wanted. So bears traded away 1 linebacker for a 2nd round pick and signed 2 for the price of one. Bears fans that don't like it is because they are just roquan smith fans
I'm getting the same vibes this upcoming season that I did a few years ago when they won the north, before it all came crashing down. The year before they won the north every loss they had was competitive, but people weren't paying attention because they were losses. The next year they came out of nowhere and exploded onto the scene. I still think if they would have stuck with john fox for that next year they would have made it farther in the playoffs. Nagy benefited from a residual effect of a john fox coached team.
Well, fox's stellar lineup that year consisted of josh Bellamy as his top wideout and trubisky as a wide eyed rookie QB. Outside of being blown out five games they were within a tie or win with one score. 🤷🏻 I just can't stand that Nagy got the credit for the next season seeing how everything went into freefall not long after he took over the reigns.
I'm looking at their schedule and I'm willing to bet they go 14-3 or 13-4. L to KC, chargers, and lions. They might lose their first meeting and win the second or they might lose both.

Next video actually go back to last season and ask yourself were they competitive? With all the nothing we had we were in 90% of the games until the end, with the cheating by the NFL 😂etc. I believe we'll exceed 8 games and be closer to 10.5 come seasons end.
Bears and Lions about to be a show this year.
Watch out for Claypool this year.
Mooney benefits most.
@@JG-tq1sf maybe but we won't have to hear about the 32nd pick bust, which isn't close to true. I mean it hasn't been a year. WHERE DID HE DRAFT Sanborn? Most of us like to bitch!
Is that zombies music 😂
I honestly think we go Skronski or Paris Johnson. We HAVE to protect Fields at all costs. Its gonna take at least this season and next for it to all come together. Cannot wait for the draft! BEAR DOWN!
I’d take Paris imo
COD Zombies music went hard
this dude clearly does not pay attention to NFCN football because the Lions are the betting odds favorites to win the division and that shouldnt be a surprise whos been around this conference. great video tho. some of the best clips put together that ive seen on this topic.
one thing nobody ever mentions, last year the bears were a competitive team that went 3-14, that had almost half of the salary cap as dead cap space.
It’s a deep corner class. I wouldn’t go corner at 9
@@RealSwaggy but I just feel like a nickel corner on a bad/below-average secondary is more important than an elite RT on an above average OL
More than 8 from my view 🐐
The bears were very competitive and the bears had like 6 one score games that they lost. So…
The zombies music is where it’s at
Justin Fields MVP 24'
0:56 you don’t get know by predicting “I’m in the middle” take a chance and maybe you’ll predict the right season. It could open more doors for you.
Then I’d be lying. I see 8 wins
claypool is at his best when he is used like the jags use evan engram. teams think, big, tall and fast, so send them down field on vertical routes, which is all the giants did with engram, and it didnt produce good results. the jags said, we are gonna get him running across the field on drags and crossing routes, so hes running away from his defender in open space close to the line, and then let his athleticism take over. look at all of the highlights you just showed of claypool. almost all of the good ones were him running 8 to 12 yard crossing routes.
This video is going to age hilariously.
Typical Packers fan
Y’all lost to the BRAND NEW LIONS
Yes, Braxton was a 5th round pick.
🔥
Yes braxton jones is a 5th round pick but he is in my opinion the best or second best olineman on our team and will probably stay at LT
Not unless we go OT @ 9 who would be 150% the better choice
@@devn266 We’ll see how Jones shows up after the off-season. He may surprise a lot of folks. I hope we get a tackle at 9 but it would be awesome if there was actual competition. Meaning Jones takes a huge step and our line goes from being a weakness to being a strength. Also, I’m sure we’re getting a stud center somewhere in the 2nd/3rd day. Would love to get Wypler too
@@BVaccaro88 I want the center from Ohio state who’s projected 2nd rd kids a stud
Jaquan brisker the greatest safety to ever it.
The bears improved a bit, not where it matters most tho, in the trenches .
The Chicago bears and Carolina trade package goes as we got the Panthers 9th pick for our first pick we got a 2024 first-round pick a second-round pick for this year second-round pick for 2025
Bears o greedy! lol
Braxton was a 5th but he is not moving to RT. He will stay at LT and we're drafting a RT
If I could ask anything it would be a good vet rt for the other side of who ever they take a 9 or in the 2nd
You are an honorary bears fan now
Bears will keep Jones at LT, Davis is gonna play LG, Whitehair at Center Jenkins will stay at RG... Broderick Jones is the only true RT in the top 50. No point in switching the line up completely.
It's not the Packers or the Vikings we should worry about, it's the Lions.
Agree. They were in 8 of those loss games. Defense blew it. Period. It's fixed. Now what
The Bears could have won 10 games last year, if they had gotten as lucky as Minnesota.
I am a bears fan and I do agree with you that Khalil Herbert is better than David Montgomery
Why did bro put the zombies theme in the background 😭
Bears will probably slip into the wild card and have the opportunity for a Steelers like run in 2006 and win it all.
Braxton jones is good tackle he was top 6 among rookie tackle per pff
braxton jones stays at LT and draft ps or pjj
Forgot TJ Edwards
Bears tanked season 1 under Flus. Bears will also tank season 2 under Flus. Come season 3, let the fun begin. 😄
good video, but the bears are the bears. on a real note, they have improved their roster
John Fox was cheeks and so was Mitch ultimately. That team hit its ceiling, who knows where Justin can take us
Well, fox's stellar lineup that year consisted of josh Bellamy as his top wideout and trubisky as a wide eyed rookie QB. Outside of being blown out five games they were within a tie or win with one score. 🤷🏻
I just can't stand that Nagy got the credit for the next season seeing how everything went into freefall not long after he took over the reigns.
@@Wyatt.D23 and I agree, Mitch was ultimately "cheeks."
Nicholas Morrow was not awful, neither was Sanborn.
bear down
12 and 5 Bear Down
Jones can play left or right tackle and a 5th rounder. Poles has done nothing wrong.
Ryan Poles has his recruiting team doing a hell of a job.
I'm looking at their schedule and I'm willing to bet they go 14-3 or 13-4. L to KC, chargers, and lions. They might lose their first meeting and win the second or they might lose both.
Monty was $6M a year not $18M. He signed a three year deal.
I meant in total
2 in a row 🙌
