In the summer of 1952, i was diagnosed with polio. I was 4. I remember Mom crying on the phone to her sister, my Aunt Ginny, about me having polio. Aunt Ginny and her 5 children had been at our house 2 weeks before. I only had one dress to wear, a red gingham taffeta dress. Every week I'd go to have my reflects tested. The doctor gave me some type of myacine drug. It became abortive polio. My knees and hips are messed up but I lived. Thirty five years later at 39, I married a man who didn't share his HIV status. I tested HIV+ after he passed. So 37 years I've lived with AIDS. God truly has an assignment for me. Im now 77. Love your videos and that curly gray hair.
When I read stories like yours Linda, I feel guilty because I am always moaning about aches and pains, and I feel humble because people like yourself are putting up with so much.❤❤Blessed Be. MARIE from England 🏴🌹 age 66
As a person who worked a Graveyard Shift for many years in a garage occupied by a ghost, I can tell you what wandered out of the bars at the wee hours of the morning was far more frightening than any ghost I ever saw.😅
I visited there a couple of years ago and reported the vault being damaged. I have pictures inside the vault. There are three robbery proof caskets inside of it. I contacted the city for repair after I took the photos for them to see. I’m glad it’s been repaired.
@@marciatrapuzzano8742 unfortunately can’t share pictures on RUclips but if you look at the front in Ron’s video where it was patched up, there was a hole about 4-5 inches across so I could see into the crypt. There’s three vaults in it. Two cast iron vaults on the bottom that say champion burglar proof and a cement one top positioned exactly in the middle of the bottom two with no markings just handles.
My older brother graduated (1965) with a real pretty girl who has polio. She's a wife and grandmother. She's just as sweet as she was in high school. She wore metal braces on her legs and walked with two metal crutches. Everyone loves her. I remember getting my polio shot. Thank you for sharing.😊
The Polio vaccine was researched by Dr. Jonas Salk at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in the early 1960s. Growing up in the Pittsburgh area, I remember getting the vaccine via sugar cubes! The very first liver transplants in the world were done at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center! Dr. Thomas Starzl.
😢 Oh! You said, "And we're in". 😢I've missed that. 😭 That is a really well kept Cemetary. So, sad the children and others who were affected by Polio. 😔 May they be running and playing in heaven 🙏 😇 I loved the children playing at the end. Happy voices. Until they wound down. 🕊 🕊
Wow! Chief Highnocker died at 91 years old died by drowning! This is really something special. Greetings and all my respects from Romania. I am your fan sir.
I was hospitalized for tests in 1962 in a hospital that was transitioning from a polio to a general hospital. It was run by an order of nuns. I remember the sisters taking some of us to socialize with the polio children, still living there due to various problems. In particular, there was a boy name named Danny in an iron lung. He was age 10 and had been there since age five. I also remember a girl with her legs in clumsy metal braces. She used two crutches and had to lie down every hour in a rocking bed due to respiratory problems. Her name was Meaghan and she was age 11, but looked much younger. The polio had stunted her growth. She’d graduated from the iron lung. Meaghan had made the hospital her home since age six. I remember it struck me that I could have been there if I had been born only a few years earlier.
I worked at a Cemetery in Watsonville California called Pioneer Cemetery. First burial was 1852. Many of my family is buried there the Struve Family. I read so much about the founding people of Watsonville that I knew about that are buried there I gave tours. Charlie Parkhurst is buried there the first woman to vote. Very famous in that area. I still miss my “friends “there. Thank you for what you do

Thank you Ron. It's a beautiful cemetery. I remember when the polio caccine came out. I was in the 7th grade and we got our vaccines in sugar cubes. I remember the kids that got polio and how sad I felt for them. That is one memory that has stuck with me for all of these years. I remember feeling bad for the kids I knew that got polio before the vaccine came out. It was a sad and painful time. Those poor little souls that had iron leg braces in order to walk were luckier than the ones that ended up in iron lungs. I seen a couple of them and it broke my heart. RIP to all of the ones that didn't survive that disease. 😥😥😥

Wow! What a beautiful cemetery this is. IDK, I do believe that there are spirit's that walk among us. If there are, then seeing them walk the cemeteries at night wouldn't be so odd since that is their home now. I think every cemetery has a ghost story attached to it. I'd love to spend the night in a cemetery but not alone lol. I'm not that brave. I would definitely do it though if the cemetery gave permission and someone would do it with me. Cool stone for the chief! I used to work at Ho-Chunk Casino in the Dells. I loved that job and everyone was so nice. The kids playing at the end and that scene was so spooky!!
