- Hi everyone! Welcome to my channel. In this video, I tour 6 different apartment buildings around the Seattle area. I am starting my first semester at a University this upcoming fall and am SO excited to have found my future home. Watch to see which unit I choose! (:

Seattle used to be nice, now it's a dumpster fire thanks to the Mayor and the "progressives" on the city council. Homeless zombie drug addicts and psychotics are everywhere, the parks are full of tents and unsafe and downtown is all boarded up storefronts. Crime is skyrocketing, especially shootings and they've lost over 200 police officers thanks to the defund the police idiocy. Try not to get assaulted or step on any needles or poo. I used to love Seattle, now I won't go there for anything.

@@lucytimmerman8687 I agree 100%, my 1st experience with Seattle was 1985 my last year in the navy at PSNS Bremerton, WA across the Puget Sound. Knew it was left leaning then but not to the degree it is now. Moved west from NYC in July 1992. Been in area since, 1st home was just south of Tacoma, met my wife in 1996 in Seattle, sold 1st house as we found another house just south of Seattle in Federal Way area in late 1997, been there since. My in-laws live in S. Seattle, we haven't been to Downtown Seattle for past several years due to out of control homeless situation and street crime. Housing everywhere (rents & houses) are ridiculous $$$. Thank God my mortgage was fully paid off in 2010. If Seattle was like this back in 1992 would never have moved here.

Seattle is a beautiful place. I live not to far from there in Tacoma, WA. I really don't have a lot of places to eat there, but I know it will presents itself to you soon enough. It is fairly expensive though. As a college student myself I know things will get going for you. I hope that you get settled in and have a great future forever home.

Things to be aware of in Seattle:
High cost of housing and living (Boeing, Microsoft, taxes, etc);
Massive homeless population (see previous item);
Juan de Fuca tectonic plate (source of previous mega-tsunamis within last 300 years);
Mt. Ranier (dormant volcano for only about 200 years, "most dangerous volcano in the North America", Seattle-Tacoma built on previous pyroclastic flow deposits);
The rest of the state is on fire right about now;
Lots of rain;

Reconnecting with friends is tons of fun, especially if you haven't seen them in a long time like it seemed was the case with your friend from this video. It is always exciting and at times stressful in those times in our lives where changes take place, jobs changing, deciding on which school to go to, and moving into a new city and apartment / house. Your video and your upbeat attitude of the experience is refreshing and always fun to watch, thanks for sharing.

That was a cool video. Seattle Washington, I think would be pricey or expensive because in town if you are a college town. I stay in a small town so things are supposed to be less expensive. It is nice to see your video. I live in west Tennessee. I hope you have fun in school. ❤️👍

Army veteran here. Born and raised in San Antonio, TX. Eventually moved near one of my close Army friends in OC, California for a few years. I just moved here to Seattle last December. Everyone is friendly now due to long daylight times. Sun coming up at like 5 and finally setting around 9. BUT, people will become more cranky in upcoming months when sun comes up at 0730ish and goes down at like 1615ish. Just FYI. Plus, the rainy months are ahead. I am working on my 4th degree\career change from nursing into Med school. Very happy to see a fellow veteran living life fully. Even if you were Navy 😜🤪
HAHA "even if you were Navy" that made me laugh! Well I'm glad I'm not that much of a disappointment. lol wow that totally makes sense why people were so nice when I was there to visit. I'm glad I was able to catch 3 short days of PNW summertime before making my big move! How are you liking the area so far? Congrats on going to med school!!! How much do you have left? Do you think you'd want to go back into the service as an officer?
@@JoannBasilio big move? Did you end up leaving here? Or big move into new apartment? I was medically retired after 13.5 years. So, I can no longer serve, but that’s ok. I have to finish a few more classes before being eligible for MCATs.

@@thetruth5026 big move to Seattle is coming up in the next few weeks! I'm almost there! (: Woo hoo what are you going to specialize in? I will be studying nutrition, but will ultimately join the dental corps after completing undergrad. Are you still using the GI bill? I love that you are loving school, so am I! There are times when I think of going back active as enlisted and then I hear my friends complaining about things that are going on with them. I immediately snap back to my own civilian reality and appreciate it so much hahaha

I lived in west seattle apartments for the last 10 or so years and I never had free parking unless it was on the street.

"Expensive" = $2400 ish without parking. Parking = $200. Hope this helps! lmk if you would like the price for specific apartments. Because of privacy, I chose not to disclose the name of the apartments in case I end up moving there in the future.
so i was on a hunt when i move there to fine the best pho spot and out of 5 spots. i ended up in renton wa. at a spot called #1 thai.. own by a pinoy guy and a viet lady..
