    Thank you for the free setups and supporting the free part. It blows my mind that for a game, there is a sub community making money off of something that we’ve already paid for - just to get competitive; not to be left in the dust. (What is going on with everything in the world evolving to a subscription based service - read: guaranteed revenue/price gouging - locking you in). I’ve almost entirely switched from ACC (from the very beginning) to iRacing mainly due to the perceived realism (I’m learning cars and tracks for real life) and also the fixed setups in iRacing - knowing that someone may have beat you from raw talent and/or practice, and not a setup or (I EMPHATICALLY point this out) - discovering a hack/weakness in the setup algorithm and exploiting that - gaining and unfair [and moreover] unrealistic advantage (this is a sim after all - it’s designed to emulate real life).

    • @Ben-fk9ey

      I'd wager they mostly sell setups to new players who are looking for an easy fix instead of putting in the time on the track.

      I get your point. We are in a world now where car manufacturers want money from you to use your seat heater on a monthly basis. It's so pathetic... 😅

      @ilzee_vk 10 месяцев назад +2

      this, I moved to iRacing 3 months ago, and I can't even bother looking back. Braking and weight balance feel is just better, and the fixed setup racing means I can just race people without pretending to also be an engineer. And the subscription for iRacing costs me less than eg. Coach Dave Delta for setups ;) Sure, there's cost of tracks and cars, but I am willing to pay the overhead given I have more fun racing, and I race more than ever.

    Another great Video! I use the Go Setups and with some little changes they are good for me. I love to race at LFM! Yes, sometimes there are stupid drivers and you get killed, but the most of the time the races are great. I find it good that you have the same track for a week, if i start mondays and managed to do a couple of races everyday my times are defenitly better on Sunday. Practice works! I also love to race in the JCL2 it is so wonderful to have a content creator who is the most of the time very nice, but if anybody talks shit or kills him he show his real emotions and than is there the community who organize so much races and the JCL and JCL2 that gives you more the feeling to be a part of something. Sorry for my bad english.

    My experience of lfm rookie is that it's extremely uneven competition in that rank. Winner is like 5-8s faster then the slowest and many times I just feel its impossible to even care to try for podium and I qualified above 2s from the trech-hole. Coach dave setups is very solid and rookie friendly setups and gave me more consistent laptimes and gained around 2s. Gosetup is cheaper but more esport-ish setups and not as rookie friendly as coach dave but they gives you great setups anyway and they are a bit cheaper as well.

      I'm gonna give you the best advice anyone can give for ACC... do you really REALLY like sim racing and you want it to be your main hobby? If so, slowly start saving some money and when you get to 500EUR or Dollars then buy a Fanatec CSL DD 8Nm bundle... come with decent fanatec pedals and a decent round wheel... but ACC with direct drive is a completely different game... not to mention that CSL DD 8Nm is about 98% as good as the 1500EUR massive wheel bases and Fanatec is the best company in letting you upgrade slowly without breaking the budget...
      I recently bought the CSL DD with the basic round wheel and also bought a GT3 wheel (their McLaren GT3 wheel for only 200EUR is the best VFM wheel in the goddamn world).
      Now when I get the load Cell Pedal my setup will be top tier and for less than 1000 EUR which is insane cause a couple of years ago that would cost over 2000EUR

      And if you give 500$ and buy the 8Nm then you have a wheel that is 98% as good as the top tier 1500$ wheel bases and you'll never ever EVER need an upgrade... just bought one for myself... DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON LOGI OR TM... this is waaaay too cheap for what it offers...

    in comes assetto corsa. i have been having a blast, but unfortunatly, i dont feel confident enough to go towards the online servers. afraid of "booting" people off the track by accident as i dont want to ruin anyones race. not only thta, i bought this game only 2 weeks ago and have not had enough time yet to get to know the trcks/cars.
    should i play trough the single player career mode first?
    or just pick a track and keep driving it, only swapping around cars to get to know each one of them?
    my goal would be to be racing around in gt3 class.
    any tips are welcome people.

      Same 5 tracks? Why not try a few more. Most tracks in ACC are brilliant. AC still has more mods and tracks than you can poke your dick at, so go on there and stop whinging at us. Pointless.

    • @sportschool3537

      Quick tips... focus on trail braking and hitting nice late apexes to be able to get out of corners with the pedal to the metal... also try to use as much of the track as possible and get good breaking point markers for every corner... even if you half-do these things you will easily get your license...
      Also, most people that start sim racing tend to overdrive the car (meaning you turn the wheel more than you should, ending up having understeer). Try to smoothly turn the wheel and let the force feedback tell you the sweet spot and only turn more at the apex to force the car to turn aggressively...
      Now if you're on controller and not a wheel, then I can't help you... I'd never manage to get the times on controller myself...

    for LFM what would you say is a good avg pace for rookie drivers (been sim racing for about 3months now)? certain tracks I am within 2 sec of pro times but a handful i really struggle on curious what i should be aiming to get my gap down to

    • @luciusesox1luckysox570
      @luciusesox1luckysox570 Год назад

      Google LFM (low fuel motorsport) and it will all become clear. At the moment to qualify for a rookie licence (you cant race anywhere without one) you need to do 7 consecutive laps at a particular track one after the other under a certain speed to get your licence. The track now is Brands Hatch and I think it is something like doing under 27.9 sec for 7 laps in a row. But go and see for yourself it is very self explanatory.. enjoy :)

    • @sportschool3537
      @sportschool3537 Год назад +1

      Dude, being within 2 seconds of pro times is insanely good for 3 months of racing... rookie drivers are most of the time around 4-6 secs off pro pace...
      In Spa for example that is a very long track, pros can go as low as 2:15 while rookie racers are mostly at 2:23-2:24... if you can get for example under 2:20 on Spa then you're gonna be competitive in most lobbies... not gonna blow competition out of the water, but you're not gonna be bored at the end of the grid for sure .
      Do you have a good direct drive wheel and good pedals? Cause if you're 2 secs away from pros in 3 months on some crappy Logitech then I'm really impressed...

      The way one of the devs talked about it sounded like AC2 will have major overhaul not just with the new engine and the driving physics but the overall experience which to me means matchmaking/multiplayer perhaps more akin to GT7 and other titles. In ACC you either need to rely on completely dead competition servers or LFM which is shite, third party and you can be banned on the whim of some random fat mod so no thank you. Also the sign up process is annoying and arduous. Everything AC and ACC era is still bare minimum because sim racing had a big surge in popularity only recently.
