  • Welcome to the third and final video of our adventure to and from the Little Sahara State Park in Oklahoma. Today, we left Waynoka, OK and headed for home. However, we did not take a direct route!
Just off Hwy 412, south and east of Little Sahara state park, is another amazing state park - Gloss Mountain. We hiked from the base parking lot to the top of Cathedral Mountain then walked across the mesa to view the valley below. Amazing views and a great trail up the Mountain.
From Gloss Mountain we went back North to check out Salt Plains State Park, where you can dig for selenite crystals. The park is comprised of salt leftover from an ocean that covered Oklahoma in prehistoric times and is truly unique.
Our last stop before home was the restaurant Greazy Steve's in Pond Creek, OK. We had burgers, fries and tots and the food did not disappoint. Give them a stop if you are traveling through the area.
We truly had so much fun on this trip just tooling around western Oklahoma and checking out new (to us) places to visit. Growing up as I did in Eastern OK, we didn't make it to these spots and I am so glad to explore them now.
I know we will go back!
