I have a small fleet of Triumphs but my 2020 Interceptor gets ridden a lot, most people have never seen one. Even though I have cars; my INT750 gets used 10,000 miles each year, currently at 44,000 miles. It is amazing how dependable a $5,500 machine is; it has original battery, cables, levers. Only the headlight bulb, chain/sprockets and tires have been replaced.
You have a good point 24:00 . When you use this bike everyday for small trips like going to work and going to the store, you don't get that same feeling when you go for a longer ride on the weekend. For me I now use a 350cc scooter for the "normal" trips to work or something where i need to be. I use my primary motorcycle for nice long weekend trips I want to enjoy. And I noticed that those trips now feel way better instead of riding the bike everyday. Its the same as when you eat your favorite meal everyday. At some point it just doesn't taste the same. But if you eat your favorite meal 1-2 times a month, It taste way better the time you eat it. Always keep these mind tricks in mind! Thank you for this nice review Uncle. Stay safe!
Hey those pipes do sound fantastic! I have a Super Meteor and I absolutely love it, by the way I have installed the USB from the Meteor 350 and it bolts right in and works perfectly. I also think that having it under the left panel is a pain in the butt. Love your videos, down to earth and no bullshit 👍 All the best from Tasmania.
Interesting. Did you have to buy the entire switch housing and USB plug? and where did you plug it in (headlight)? I may do a video on this as my Super Meteor owning friend would probably like to do this. If we do it I'll make a video about it.
@@UncleVoodoo I just bought the cable and switch housing from eBay. Genuine Royal Enfield. Behind the headlight is a cable not being used and it plugs directly in. The other end bolts under the clutch lever, it’s a direct fit. I found this out from a RUclipsr called Teacher T Thailand, he deserves credit for testing the 350 Meteor USB on the 650 Super Meteor, his local RE dealer told him it couldn’t be done but he proved it bolts straight in and works perfectly!

Here we have a local seat manufacturer, called Pedrinho Bancos, that produces seats for every bike, some custom fit for the owner, using high quality materials including gel. Take a look at their job, maybe you can ship one to the US.
It’s cool to see someone who loves riding as much as I do. I am a daily rider, with three bikes. My favorite bike that I’ve ever owned is my old 2006 Kawasaki KLR650. I have put over 80,000 miles on it, and it still runs and handles like brand new. Big six gallon tank for long range, dirt bike friendly, and great on-road capability as well. I ride it Monday and Wednesday. My new bike is the 2024 Triumph Scrambler 1200xe. It’s a literal beast, and I’m still trying to get used to it. I ride it on Tuesday and Thursday. I bought a brand new Honda CRF300 Rally in 2021, and, boy, what a little gem she is. Super off-road capable, and good for around town, too. I ride it on Fridays, and on the weekends. I really enjoyed your review of your R.E. Continental GT. That’s a great looking and sounding bike. I really like that two cylinder 650, and the great sounding exhaust you’ve put on it. Of course, you live in Motorcyclist Paradise up there in V.A.
Nice videography as usual Uncle! The Himalayan has that same brake pedal concern, which I am sure you are aware of. The fuel concern caught my attention after watching Ian ( Old school ADV rider). He recently picked up an orange crush 650 to go along with his bullet 500 and Himalayan 411. World of knowledge previously was a motorcycle mechanic and competitive riding in the UK probably many moons ago. The previous owner may have changed the front fork oil and changed the weight of the oil or changed the springs in the forks. Aside from yourself, Uncle, I have not found another enthusiast who is as passionate as you with Royal Enfield. Thank god for the tube.

loved the video, your exhaust sounds great, I wish changing exhaust would have been legal in India, many people still change them but they have to pay fine for it, I love almost every other exhaust note than the stock one, plus tell us whether you would be more comfortable on an int or cont in terms of seating position as you talked it would get little uncomfortable after 30 mins , also is it a bike for longer rides?
I haven't done an extended ride on an Interceptor but the issue I experience is a blood flow / circulation issue so since the seats are the same I assume I'd have the same problem with either one. Standing up on the foot pegs and stretching for a few seconds is the only remedy Ive found so far.
I think you should consider a Benelli 400 Imperiale for a second bike. I had one before getting my Clx Heritage 700 and loved it for pottering around. It has only 20 bhp but can get up to 70/80 reasonably quickly. Just wondering if you would consider going over to Waltons mountain museum and doing a little video from there sometime. Loved the Waltons as a young teenager in the early 70s.
Im leaning towards a Signals edition Classic 350 so I won't fuss over keeping it clean like I do with the GT. Plus my luggage will swap between the bikes. I think RE is dropping that model next year, so who knows what I'll end up with.
Great video ( and thanks for laughs) i was set on a black magic ( love the silver wheels , really don't care for the black newer ones) but i ended up getting an 89 honda gb 500 cafe and a 2022 janus 250 halcyon. 2 totally different bikes ( riding style & looks) absolutely LOVE both, the honda for longer rides (300 mile range) & the janus for short backroads scoots ( short for me is 50- 75 miles). Still want to add that GT to the stable, as 650's have always been my all round favorite size.🖖
Im intrigued by the Janus Halcyon 250, just haven't found the right deal on one to get me to pull the trigger. That's like getting a fresh start with a genuine old school bike.
I have the '20 Continental in chrome... awesome bike. Pretty much agree with mostly everything. Not perfect, but if it was it wouldn't be as fun if it was.
Great 👍 review mate , Paul from Australia, with your seat mate what I have done with at least 4 bikes I have owned taken my seat to my local upholstery and “ custom done it to my ass 😂😂😂” as we all have different ones ,So take your seat to your local upholstery place ( most do or have done bike seats , do form first , take out for a LONG ride ( obviously not if it’s raining 🌧️ 😂) then make further alterations, another ride then recover ! 100% best way . Or a cheaper option is buy a wind rider cover “ they also make a seat a lot more comfortable and US dollars probably around 80 odd . I’m a fello veteran served in Iraq with you guys 👍.with rear shocks look at IKON Suspension in Australia they do fantastic rear shocks for the intercepter and GT .
Im waiting on my new Janus seat as it has a split in the foam separating each half of the seat creating a channel down the center. If it works well I'll have something similar done to the GT's seat.

I was close to buying a trike but the investment is just too far above my social security check . So I have started looking at used RE's and really like the look of yours. Need to at least sit on one and see if my back starts to bother me in 5 minutes. I am also looking at the Moto Guzzi line, any thoughts from you on that bike ??
I'm looking ahead atm wanting to add a lighter bike to the stable as it does get more difficult to manhandle heavy bikes as we age. Ive always wanted to like Moto Guzzi but every time I give them a look something always puts me off. Im sure they're ok but I tend to be picky when I'm going to spend a large chunk of cash. Mechanically they seem sound, but they are known to be plagued with electrical faults, and the V7III and newer models end up keeping you tethered to the dealer as you can no longer reset the service light yourself. That's a deal breaker for me, any company that does things like that does not get my business. The V7II era seems better but you still need to sort some thing out on them.
PS. check out the "Let's talk about..." videos I'm currently doing, I'm in the process of searching for a bike to add to the stable and one of the angles I'm coming from is that of the older rider, where the weight of the bike and how user serviceable it is- is a factor.
Love what you have done to your stainless mudguards so that they match the fuel tank. I live in the UK and own an interceptor with a chrome tank and would like to do what you have with the mudguards. Did you paint and pin stripe them yourself or was it carried out by a specialist company?

In one of your videos you mentioned that the aluminum engine casing corrodes if the owner does not take good care of it. What would you suggest to keep it in good shape? Also, does the riding position ever bother your wrists or back? Any discomfort when riding long distances? I intend to take this baby on long rides over Patagonia. Thanks!
Hi, the best thing to avoid the corrosion is to keep them clean and apply a coat of wax every couple of weeks or so. I don't get shoulder / wrist / back pain from the riding position, unless Im on a very long steep mountain descent. The only real discomfort I experience is my crotch going numb after about 30-45 mins in the saddle. Standing on the pegs for a few seconds takes care of it, but it is still annoying.
Gearhead is my hometown shop. I was looking at a Moto morini 650. Do you have an opinion on it? Im thinking of getting a bike for the first time in decades.
I don't really know enough about the MM bikes to offer an informed opinion on them. All I really know is that they were an Italian brand up until 2018 or so when a Chinese company bought them and that they use a clone of a Kawasaki engine... which we really cant say is really a bad thing since we don't see bad reviews or hear about them having problems,.. unlike the "real" Italian bikes.
I think it's alright, it makes for a better option for people who would buy the Interceptor looking to scramblerize it. RE finally addressed the RegRec location and I hope the one on the Bear is retrofittable to the Interceptor and GT.
I had the same opinion of the seat that you do. I now have the same seat that you are using but added a Raw & Rugged Continental GT Type 1 seat cover. It has a gel pad and made a world of difference for longer rides, and the fact that it is a good quality leather and only $80 was the icing on the cake for me.
I did a video a while back where I took it on the interstate (70mph speed limit)... merged into traffic at 85mph and did some overtakes, then ran it up a mountain at 90mph. Ive topped it out at 110mph in the flat.
@@UncleVoodoo - pretty sure I watch all your vids. Must have still had some questions in my mind. In Texas you can go hundreds of miles with the throttle locked on 85 legally. Which is plenty fast enough for me on a bike.
@@TwoWheelsBackroads I cant say I'd recommend hundreds of miles at that speed! I do have a fondness for engines that put out smaller than normal power for their displacement (just one of the ingredients I look for when shopping for reliability). For long stretches of hot desert like that I'd look for even more displacement.
Oh yea, numb nuts. I get that riding my Interceptor. I bought the “touring” seat but it’s just thicker, not more comfortable. Hopefully someone will make a seat to help with this condition.
Great bike and but i hate that sporty position on it. The Interceptor is better, on the Bullet and Super Meteor are the best. My preferate is the Triumph Speedmaster 1200 😊
It's nowhere near as aggressive or uncomfortable as most people imagine it to be, I did a side by side comparison with the interceptor in a previous video. The Interceptor does have advantages due to its riding position but the same advantage it has over the GT... is the same advantage it has over the Super Meteor and Speedmaster- just at opposite ends of the spectrum.

The T100 is something I'd add to my collection, nice bike. Being able to move the bags between the bikes would be a bonus.

The little quirks are what give bikes character, if they were perfect they'd probably be boring.

actually no, once I did it for a year (6mo on the bike and 6mo in my car), the car beat the bike once tax credits were applied.

I did a video a while back where I took it on the interstate (70mph speed limit)... merged into traffic at 85mph and did some overtakes, then ran it up a mountain at 90mph. Ive topped it out at 110mph in the flat.
@@UncleVoodoo - pretty sure I watch all your vids. Must have still had some questions in my mind. In Texas you can go hundreds of miles with the throttle locked on 85 legally. Which is plenty fast enough for me on a bike.
@@TwoWheelsBackroads I cant say I'd recommend hundreds of miles at that speed! I do have a fondness for engines that put out smaller than normal power for their displacement (just one of the ingredients I look for when shopping for reliability).
For long stretches of hot desert like that I'd look for even more displacement.
Oh yea, numb nuts. I get that riding my Interceptor. I bought the “touring” seat but it’s just thicker, not more comfortable. Hopefully someone will make a seat to help with this condition.

Great bike and but i hate that sporty position on it. The Interceptor is better, on the Bullet and Super Meteor are the best.
My preferate is the Triumph Speedmaster 1200 😊
It's nowhere near as aggressive or uncomfortable as most people imagine it to be, I did a side by side comparison with the interceptor in a previous video.
The Interceptor does have advantages due to its riding position but the same advantage it has over the GT... is the same advantage it has over the Super Meteor and Speedmaster- just at opposite ends of the spectrum.
