I know what you mean. I am also an electrical engineer in similar situations. Getting a degree is about passing exams. But in real life we deal with real problems. We need to make sure that we get our hands dirty rather than simply going through pages of the book. Thats why I am watching this video. Better late than never !
You can touch + and - of a battery at the same time without a shock hazard if the battery voltage is less than about 48V. That's why telecom backup systems use 48V batteries--it's the safest voltage you can touch without harm. Higher voltages will overcome your skin resistance and put current through your body, which could kill you.

You have skipped neutral wire from inverter output, instead you have used neutral from mains. Most electricians do this but its incorrect wiring. This way you are looping input neutral connection to output neutral connection of the inverter, causing damage or malfunctions. Also your battery top is wet/damp which is hazardous!
Noticed some sparks while connecting a replacement battery but that didn't bother me installing the new battery as the video clearly mentioned sparks are not to be feared. I did cut the main power to the inverter before installation.

Can i have an inverter at home but with manual changeover. Means when grid power is present....the entire home is connected to that. When power fails....i will go and manually flip a MCB switch or something and only then the inverter gives power to the home. Yes i know...when power goes ill have to go and switch on in the dark etc...i have considered all that and found for my use this is best. Because my house has automatic gates....automatic garage shutter.....all stoves are induction...etc....definitely ill have to go for a 5kva inverter. I DONT WANT THAT. I want just a small 24v system and with maybe 2 600w solar panels. Because when power fails....i will reduce all my load items and then go and transfer to inverter. Till then the inverter can be like one of my home appliance...like fridge it will also be running on one side and charging up the batteries until i want to use it. When power fails i only want 2 fans n my computer to run. Else ill have to put a heavy inverter just to accommodate my regular load EVEN when grid power is present.

I am not not an electrical engineer or anything but would like to caution you on something - @1:51 you mentioned you are not touching both the wires the same time so it is safe. Now, what happens if your watch suddenly gets "unbuckled" and hangs down and touches the first wire while you are touching the second? Just a thought that came to my mind. So I guess that is one thing that people need to be careful about - what they are wearing. Am I correct?

Here in my new office they made 2 15amps 3 pin Sockets and names it as IN and OUT for UPS. My Cruze USP has only 4 wires . three wires (Red, Black & Green) goes to mains power socket on wall. how can i connect the UPS out to this wall other socket..??? puzzled with only YELLOW wire as OUTPUT. Please explain ( UPS has 4 terminals screws for YELLOW, RED, BLACK & GREEN.) GREEN, BLACK & RED already wired and plugged in for charging
I enjoyed the video explaining the technical setup but he is surely not electrician they way the cables was just hanging on the wall. We do have some so called electricians in my country who does the same types of illigal work, and there is a reason why it is illegal. Here is a list of items where he would be in violation of several laws:1. He is tampering directly with the fuse box connecting equipment not suitable for the setup2. His cables goes directly through a door opening, when closing the door he might cause a short3. He is unable to close the door which is a recommendation during fire and law in developed countries4. His wiring is exposed and taped together and even the battery is exposed to children's hands5. His equipment is outside exposed, with rain on the terrace there might be a short6. The wiring is black and hanging in strings which is ugly as H.LL.Just my opinion and why there is so many electrical black outs in the third world as they don't care about doing things prober and according to safety.

Please I need help with my inverter. I am also using over 3kw solar and an outback MPPT charge controller. My inverter is luminous 1500 Eco Volt. My freezer are on timer so they switch off at the set time. Then at night time after few hours of low load of maybe 20 watts my inverter will go to standby mode but it can not come back online unless I off and On it again. How do I stop this.

If the ups is 600va then the load will be high on the battery

The inverter has a reroute which works when the power comes. And when the power goes off it immediately starts from the backup battery.

You can touch the both contact together.nothing will happend.because it is DC voltage.
