You are a great teacher. I appreciate your clarity and honesty. For example, telling us you avoided figures when you started. (I just started and am avoiding figures-for the same reasons).
It makes your lessons more accessible and do-able. Not all teachers are like this. Thank you.

Very helpful when you share “what’s inside your head” and explain your thoughts. Thanks.

Thank you. Really glad I came across you on this channel recently Robert. Learning so much from you its ridiculous! Your dry brush creating sparkles on water and your excellent advice on the brush you use (just purchased) everything you say actually... Super grateful! Thanks again.

I really like that you added the figure and the dog… a nice touch and it brought nice life to the already wonderful painting.

I don’t know how you paint and make a video…that’s a special talent…it is all I can do to focus on painting 🙃

Very nice demonstration. I ruin a lot of my watercolors because I don't bother to do thumbnails. Big Mistake!!
    Thank you for sharing Rob

I sometimes do the thumbnail in my head, it really helps to see what you are intending to paint. Thanks Debbie 😊

I like the term "Fence yourself in." I tend to put in a lot of detail with the drawing. I lose my orientation in the painting easily sometimes, so I over compensate.

Love the video! What is your reasoning behind making the water lighter than the sky when in the photo the water is darker than the sky?

I painted this a while ago, I think probably to increase the contrast of the reflections. Thanks for watching 😀

I like alvaros watercolours, yours look similar, yet i think you do have a nice rythme and flow
Is 14 the largest you ever yse or bigger.

@bbenh3729 I use larger brushes when painting on larger sheets of paper and vice versa.
