I have only just found this series, but just wanted to say thank you! It is so easy to follow with clear instructions/advice for me, who only discovered junk journals the last few weeks
Deborah you are such a lovely teacher, clear explanations and great, easy to follow instructions. I love having a Brit like me who tea rather than coffee stains paper, and you do make me laugh at times. Thank you so much for your lovely videos, I've only just found you , but oh I am so glad I have! Love and hugs from another unscientific lady who eyeballs stuff and makes wobbly journals too xxxxx
I am new to your channel and to art journaling. I have so enjoyed this series! I love the way you have prepped the book with all your boxes and details. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Lisa and welcome to the Attic! I'm glad you enjoyed this and if I can offer the best thing I've learned - it is not to try and make it perfect - just make it :) xx
My dog barked in response to yours. She is a Doxie and is easily started up. I thought it was hilarious. Lol. Great video. Loved it and I am anxious for the next.
I'm really enjoying this series of videos. I have got a lot of good ideas to start a journal now, so thank you. Can't wait to watch the next video, which I think I'll do now ! 🌸🌷🌹
Lovely helpful ideas. I enjoy your techniques & explanations; forethought on design is very helpful too. Your doggie must always know when you're filming, he wants to be part of the action.
I'm so happy to have found you Deborah- you're tutorials are wonderful, I like your sense of humor and your style. You've given me many new ideas and ways to accomplish them. TY! Keep them coming :)
Hi Lynn - if there's anything you think I can help with, just ping me a question. I took several attempts at my covers before I found a technique I was happy with :) xx
Hi Deborah, i have just found your channel and have been binge watching this morning, you are an absolute breath of fresh air, iv been an active junk journal creator for a few years and found your ideas new and exciting and i love your teaching method and relaxed approach so welcoming, so many you tube tutorials are fast forwarded and no where near as inspiring as yours, im definitely a follower now and il continue to watch from this one to todays date, keep up your creativity its wonderful hugs from Auckand New Zealand 🇳🇿
Tracey your comments are so kind and thoughtful, thank you for taking the time to let me know. I hope you will continue to find fresh ideas here. :) xx
Deborah, I Love your colors! I have been working on several junk journals for over a week now and can't get enough! Also, my dog Jox says hello to your dog. He heard yours barking and ran to the window to see what the fuss was about!
Love your tutorials! You are so warm and funny and present such great info in a way we all can easily grasp. I'm very excited to do a junk journal like this, but have never sewn paper. Any tips for those of us just starting to sew paper? I have a little Singer and would love to give it a try. TY so much.
Hi wormholehead! I'm really pleased to hear you are enjoying these videos :) Sewing paper is just the same as sewing fabric but I would say sew a little slower because paper is a little more dense than fabric. Allow your needle time to poke through, especially if you are sewing through several layers. The number of layers you can sew through will depend on the sharpness of your needle so if you're having problems it might be a blunt needle. Try swopping for a new one. xx
@@AtticLane Thank you so much! I can't wait to try sewing the new papers I'm preparing using your tea-staining ideas-I'm trying different teas as I have one that makes a lovely reddish cup and even using some leftover coffee! I was, initially, stressing over not having the "right stuff," but after scouring stores and websites, I found your tutorials and realized-even though "my style" isn't out there in stores or online, and I'm going to have to make it myself, you've proved to me, I CAN make it, and I'm very excited to try! Thank you again!
Deborah, that’s so awesome and cool 😎 I really love 💕 and enjoyed watching this.....so many great 👍 ideas 💡. So clever and easy to follow. Thank you so much xxx Mags
Hi Terri and welcome to the Attic! Yes indeedy there is a Part 4 showing how to make a template to easily stitch your journal together. I also show you how to line the inside of your cover with fabric and how to make a beautiful design for the front cover. It will be online this evening at 6pm (GMT) and will be followed in future weeks with Part 5 - Tags, Part 6 - Bags and envelopes, Part 7 Tassels, charms and beads and Part 8 - Home made ephemera! Hope you'll join in :) xx
At 24:33, as you're just finishing saying, "...that's another of our pages completed," your work surface emerges from the cross-fade with a pattern of faint diagonal lines (slightly orange and blue on my monitor), running from high at the right to low at the left. Do you know what caused this? The lines do not seem to cross anything other than the work surface.
Oh gosh no I don't know what caused that. I did have a whole video ruined recently by random lines and I had to reshoot the whole thing again. Luckily it's rare but it's certainly annoying. xx
Hi Deborah, I love your videos, thank you for sharing. May I ask you the general measurement of the width of your pages. Not the 61/2 inch, but the other one.
Hi Millana! I don't work to set sizes (unless it's my mini journals) and because I sold this finished journal I don't have it to measure so I can't answer your question, sorry! My journal sizes vary depending on what I want to do with it or which handbag I think I will carry it about in. Sorry I can't be more help! :) xx

Lovely helpful ideas. I enjoy your techniques & explanations; forethought on design is very helpful too. Your doggie must always know when you're filming, he wants to be part of the action.

some great ideas thanks Deb...love the sound of the paper crunching (being a paper addict)
There's something deeply attractive about crispy crunchy paper. Glad it's not just me! :) xx

Ahh you are most welcome, I'm so pleased you found these videos useful! :) xx
Keep your glue turned upside down in a glass or glass jar & it’s always ready for using. Be sure ! To put lid back on before turning upside down 🤗
Do you have a part 4 where you put the signature in the cover? I loved how you explained everything in all 3 videos. Thank you so much. Need part 4!

You could dye the lace with the paper???
Using the left over tea dye in the spray bottle? You sure can...and I think that might be coming up in the next video!! (You beat me to it) :) xx
👍🌈💙❤️
I think the glue has acetone in it.
