Tejaswini, keep oiling your hair as frequently as possible in a week. over a period of 1-2 years, it'll turn smoother. if you have very rough hair, oil every alternate night. when you are using shampoo, use little shampoo, and lather more. use pure oils like, virgin coconut /pure mustard/pure sesame. do not use perfumed or refined oils. Few hair masks that can give you instant shine and gloss, mehandi, onion juice mixed with coconut oil, reetha paste( soak reetha for 1-2 days, deseed it, grind it into fine paste. make sure to strain out the paste otherwise your bathroom will have lot of roughage and Fibre lying around) Reetha and henna dry hair. so you have to take care of that. other than shampoo, never ever use any other hair products, like serum, perfume, color, conditioner etc. shampoo also hampers hair, but there isn't a full proof natural shampoo
