They did this song at Foro Didi, and Dany's guitar went out, so she had to just sing it with no guitar until Ale's Bass comes in. It really showcases how good Dany's voice really is. I love this song. This whole Album is a masterpiece. Glad you are doing all of it.
That was a truly magical performance. Would have loved to be in that crowd that day.

Dany was the primary author of this song and she really goes all out when she sings it. Interesting word choices for someone whose first language is actually Spanish. For instance, the rarely used word bemuse is an amazing choice for conveying her character's emotions. The Foro Didi version is my particular favorite because of how beautifully she overcame the technical difficulties.

Yes this was the song I had hand-written for me for my Patreon-age.
Absolutely blew my mind when I first heard it.
They use backing tracks on all their live performances, mostly to fill out guitars but sometimes keys and vocals too. I think it’s a mandolin on this track.
Sorry yes they do use backing tracks but very really they add a few rhythm guitar licks in on a couple of songs. As Dany says I cant play two guitars at once. Dany's playing style some time sounds like she is playing 2 notes at once and you might hear an echo pedal used from time to time.
Pau's (the drummer) harmonies are so critical to the mystery and power of this tune.
These ladies are just great artists. It doesn't matter whether it's in the studio or live on stage. Whatever "IT" is, they got it 🤘⚡🔥

Yes, breaking a rule or two to create something new and surprising is definitely something they are not afraid to do. That's one of the things I love about them, every new song is an adventure and we never know what's coming.

Glad you chose the album version for this song. I love their live versions as much as anyone, but this studio recording is perfectly done. I enjoy the live versions, but Dany has perfectly tweaked this version.

OMG JVB this is going to be SO MUCH FUN!!! Thank you for going over the studio version w/lyrics first, I hadn't had that experience like that yet, only listened to the Live before. I watched the whole Lunario concert a few times now and I loved how you can actually see her embody the character, and get a little crazier (in a good way) as the show went on and the story unfolded.
It's great to see the lyrics here as they were written and broken into stanzas. And to hear your knowledge of structure and songwriting just adds another level of AWESOMENESS!!!

JVB,you are correct saying the crowd was mesmerized by Dany. I'm the gray haired guy in the bottom corner of the video, directly in front of Dany and I was in that spot both nights,best seat in the house!
I'm 66yo,seen the best of the best in my concert going life and I've never seen anything like these 3 amazing young ladies,both on & off stage. They are the most humble,caring & fan appreciative human beings I've ever had the privilege to know ❤
I've flown 5000 miles to see them live 3 times and I'm doing it again in January to see them both nights at the Troubadour in LA.
Best 3 live shows of my life and I'll bet the farm the next two will make it the best 5 shows of my life! 🥰⚡⚡⚡🥰

At the very end of the studio version i has tremendous goosbumps of electricity running threw me it feelt super good like a drug rush
*Factoid:* Crimson Queen (studio version) is missing a member. For some reason, Pau didn't participate in the recording. Which was recorded at *The Cave (Warning's home studio).* That was Dani backing up herself.
Also Crimson Queen was a song Dani was playing around with. It wasn't written for the Queen of the Murder Scene album.
QotMS is a masterpiece. They ARE the Jewels of Monterrey!
You speak of builds in a song. That is one of The Warning's superpowers, every song seems to have these builds where every chorus seems a bit different, a bit bigger than the one before. It keeps their songs from becoming repetitive sounding. As for what's next, stay on the Queen of the Murder Scene album. The Warning has some live shows coming up that I'm sure will find their way to RUclips at some point. Once you're done with QOTMS, then you can go through the Mayday EP with both studio and live versions of each song. And when you do the studio versions of the Mayday tracks, there are 4 of the 6 that have excellent music videos to go along with them, two of those four with live session versions if you prefer that instead. Tons of material and that's not counting their first full length album which has numerous live recordings available as well. And you can go back further with live performances when they were just starting out. It's a very large rabbit hole...
This song is being sung from the standpoint of the protagonist of the story (I don't know whether you're familiar with the storyline of the album and don't want to give it away if you want to explore the album as a journey, but it's surely apparent what kind of song this is). Suffice to say for now that it's completely appropriate for Dany as the protagonist to have center stage with Pau and Ale in the background; it's not a matter of taking a break.
They definitely do use a backing track on this song; when Dany's guitar mic failed on this song at Foro Didi, there is some backing, but it's quite light: ruclips.net/video/yV8gpIrIR9s/видео.html. You will definitely respect and appreciate how Dany handled it; it's a bit more than what @justjulie44 described.
And what Phil C said -- please do continue with this album in sequence, to appreciate the storyline.
My favourite songs on this album: The One, Stalker, Sacrifice, Red Hands, Sinister Smiles, Dull Knives, PSYCHOTIC and Hunter. But I love the entire masterpiece, the story of a young girl losing her battle with psychotic illness. It's unbelievable how young they were when the wrote it.

When I first got the CD and listened to it I thought: "I'll skip this song in the future because it's slow". That did not happen. Like most Warning songs, you can't unhear the message that it sends and how it sets up the rest of the songs.

This video doesn't show it very well but part of the layering you hear is Pau singing as well, just doing it softly to support Dany's vocals. It's not always easy to tell because there are times when Pau sings to herself in the background.
To see just how mature their songwriting was even earlier I would suggest Black Holes or Copper Bullets. Note that Pau wrote Black Holes at around 13. The version from the Dakota Bar has clear vocals.

Continue the album. It is a story. Every song relates to that story. To not finish the album would be like reading the first three chapters of a book, then tossing it aside. I love their newer stuff also, but am trying to get thru this epic story..
I just wonder if a playwright will contact The Warning about a Rock Opera or boardway show using this album. Or maybe a movie like Pink Floyd's The Wall. 🤔

At one performance her guitar pickup wasn't working. She sang the entire song without the guitar and it sounded just as great. She is such a professional at such a young age.

Most of their early stuff is live They gave the fans a choice in the early days, would the prefer a music video or a live show recording The result was overwhelming for live. They have signed with a label so there is now music videos.

Usually Pau write their songs, but this one is all Dany. First time I heard it it did not click with me, but now when I know the whole story of the album it is a very emotional and strong song. I like it a lot. ❤

As you know, this is from a concept album that follows a girl's journey through unrequited love from infatuation on into obsession and stalking, then murder and madness. "Ugh" is the next song. Each song flows into the next and it is important not to loose touch with the storyline. Making your reaction videos while the story is fresh in your mind is a plus. You can always upload them at your leisure.
"Disciple" and "Evolve" are my favorite songs from their recently released "MAYDAY" EP. But that is always subject to change with The Warning; as I am feeling the others already tugging and pulling on my heartstrings.
