The boats are a historical landmark in Encinitas, California. I had a friend that lived in one of them many years ago. They are a conversation piece and just fun. They need to put some landscaping in though .... put the grass back in. The current tenant really has it nicely done. Loved the video! Encinitas CA should be featured more often in videos there is a lot more to see here.

"[Aboard ships]:...the world is far, far away; it has ceased to exist for you--seemed a fading dream, along in the first days; has dissolved to an unreality now; it is gone from your mind with all its businesses and ambitions, its prosperities and disasters, its exultations and despairs, its joys and griefs and cares and worries. They are no concern of yours any more; they have gone out of your life; they are a storm which has passed and left a deep calm behind."

I used to live across the street at 743 3rd St. The original owner got the wood to build them from a dance hall that used to be at Moonlight Beach. Back in the 70s the rent was really pretty low. I spoke with Kellogg many times, and had friends who lived there. There's another, more conventional, unit in the back.
