Just wanted to remind everyone to hit that Like button. This man is creating all of this great content for free... the least we could do is hit Like. Thanks so much Thomas for teaching all of these Notion fundamentals, there's no way I would have figured all of this out on my own!!
I've been following Thomas content since I started college in 2013 and every couple of years I find myself back here to learn something new as I stumble through adulthood. The blog helped me as an underclassman. The podcast kept me company when I had to drive several hours a week to school. Recently, I decided to try to learn how to use notion, and here Thomas was, ready to help again. Just two days ago, I was tearing my hair out trying to understand columns/dashboards then this video dropped. Thank you, Thomas, for 8 years (and counting) of guidance! I have learned so much in that time!
Its so interesting that you can actually drop all this info onto a page and then kinda sculpt all of it into a form that makes sense to you. Im just getting started with Notion so my mind is blown lol thanks for those videos Thomas! Good stuff!
The multicolumn layout copy and paste doesn't work for me. I don't know what is wrong with my NOTION app in Windows. However, this video is huge help especially when comes to make a templet. I visited many YT channels to look for a proper guide. Finally, found this channel. A huge shout out to Thomas for being so simple and explaining everything very much in detail. Keep up the good work.
Hey, it will be better to either pin the comment about this video becoming obsolete after the update or a link in the description or something. RUclips shows this on the top when searching for Notion Tutorials, so it will be helpful for people to be able to get to that video without scrolling the comments.
Very professional and profound presentation! Thanks for sharing!! You use a different font on your pages, even the headlines are not bold; what kind of tweak do you recommend to achieve this?
Hello everyone. Thank you, Thomas, for the excellent and explanatory video! I would like to ask if there is a way to create an in-line view of a page inside another page. I am using notion to write a novel and I use scene pages and chapter pages. So my goal is to view all the content of the corresponding scenes inside the chapter page. Thank you in advance
I have been trying for 20 minutes to drag the photo to the right of all the columns as you did, but I think they changes something. It always attaches itself to one of the others. E.g. Notes or Reference. Effectively making itself part of the respective row.
@Thomas Frank Explains: First off, thank you so much for your great videos on Notion, I recently started using Notion and absolutely love it, however, when I copy a multi column layout just like how you did it in this video, and paste it into a toggle, it doesnt retain the layout instead stacks the headings on top of each other at full width. Does it have something to do with the notion plan that I have? I dont think so, but I am using the personal free plan.
Hi Thomas thank you for your videos-they are really well produced and are a great learning tool! I have a question about copying/pasting into the toggle menu as you describe around to 7:20 mark in your video. When I do this, it doesn’t retain my formatting, instead stacks the columns. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
What device are you using? I haven't tested this, but I'm unsure if it works on tablets yet. Beyond that, the only other thing that I know will break this is if you try to paste multiple sets of multi-columns at once. So for example: - 3 columns - 1 column - 3 columns If you highlighted all of this and tried to paste it in a Toggle, it wouldn't work - everything would paste as a single column. But if you highlighted just a single group of 3 columns, that should paste just fine.
@@ThomasFrankExplains I’m using a PC -I wonder if it’s not working because I have the free version? I am able to get the end result I’m looking for -just not by copying and pasting. Thank you for all your great videos- you have great content!
is there a way to remove a column halfway down the page? My page has three columns but I want to show some databases in only two of them, instead of one. And I only get the possibility of putting the databases in the middle column all full width. Is there a way to show the databases in two columns underneath a three column layout?
Yep, it's a bummer - they'll fix it eventually though. For now, you can get around the limitation on iPad by creating a multi-column template button, and moving copies of it to new pages when you want to create new columns.
This video in particular is pretty much obsolete at this point and I need to re-make it. Multi-column layouts are way easier to make now: ruclips.net/video/61a1Edq4iBo/видео.html
This dude is so good at explaining things. Very detailed and thorough without getting us bogged down in the details

That pasting column change was an extremely underrated update
I agree it is underrated!
Thanks for the time and effort you put into these videos.
I’ve been searching Notion Masterclass in Udemy, didn’t know I could get it better here for free! Thank you sooo much!! ❤
Awesome content, man, just started with notion and it would be pretty hard to learn if it wasn't for your videos. Thanks a lot!
This whole series is gonna save my degree! Thank you so much for creating this series.
Just curious. Do u have to learn it for part of ur degree ?or do you just want to know how to use it to keep you organized for ur studies?

The copy paste doesn't work for me either.
Thankyou for these videos I have been looking on how to start with the v. basics on Notion long time now
Awesome video thank you! Watching this in 2022, still super relevant 👍
Thank you for this video. It was very helpful and easy to follow along.
Thank you so much for providing these useful tips& content!
Thank you very much Sir.
Damn, the inline database trick is just mind-blowing.
Damn, I also have no idea that it is also possible to create columns under toggle blocks
Thank you so much for these videos! very helpful.
I love you. Thanks you so much !!
Thank you so much!
Quick Links was very cool. I had created a separate phone Home page, but now that's not needed.
Thank You Bro

Notion is getting more cool features.
I love this it's like glitch building in games. Here's hoping notion doesn't go patching anything xD
Awesome content!!!!

Hi Thom, great video!
What's the desktop wallpaper you are using?
Thanks
Why does a new page in Notion have so much space to the left - what is it for? I'm always going to page actions and setting it to full width...
Frank Thomas: Moves a block

where is your shirt from? i need one

Same here.
same here! Hope someone knows how to solve this.
Did anyone manage to solve this?
I create a command of columns (/columns 3) and paste each headline as Thomas did and it work for me
I can't figure it out either 😅

Does the nested columns tirck sitll working? because I cant do it in my computer
I don't like the font colors in Notion... is there any hack to workaround to choose custom colors?

Yep, just drag a block out of one column, low enough that it becomes full width. Then add two columns at that point.
That's weird. The past column feature didn't work for me. :/
To bad this doesnt work on ipad :/ I have to go to the desktop for multi collum layout

Great
Notion honestly looks quite clunky... hope they'll make those tweaking operations more intuitive eventually.

I don’t understand why I cannot copy and paste multi-columns T-T
your eye color is same as your shirt color :)
notion is such a fuckery 🤕
Eat 3 eggs everyday? That is not healthy
Super healthy. All that stuff about bad cholesterol and such has been disproven. Eggs are fantastically good for you
Thank you so much!
