    There are people in this comment section criticizing the man in the video for pulling the e-brake "too much." And I can honestly say if you havent driven down irohazaka IRL then stop talking shit. Irohazaka is extremely tight, both the road width and the turns. Weight transfer techniques are almost impossible to do in this road. The gear used for all the hairpins is 1st gear and the rest of the corners is second. The hairpin corners in irohazaka are ALOT tighter in comparison to gunsai touge which im guessing is where the critisizing is coming from people who watch the hot version touge videos. In gunsai it's actually very possible to perform weight transfer techniques because the corners are longer and wider.

      Lowrider Life
      You don't understand. Everyone knows what counter-steer is, so get off your high freaking horse.
      Everyone can see that he's counter-steering, but only a keen eye and basic common sense (both of which you've shown to lack), can see that at from the moment he reaches his desired steering lock, there is very little adjustment until he's getting ready to exit the corner.
      As well, at the exit of each corner, to the untrained eye, may look as though hie is countersteering furiously, upon closer inspection, you realize that there was barely any steering lock applied (about one full 360• rotation of the steering wheel), which is very little countersteer.
      The fact of the matter is that the reason it looks like he is applying a lot of counter is because he's doing it quickly, sometimes even letting go of the wheel and allowing the car to self steer a bit before grabbing hold of the wheel again at the exact steering lock he desired. But he is only doing it this fast because there are so many corners and the happen very quickly. These are some of the tightest hairpins in Kanto, after all.
      And though there are a few (albeit short) straights, any true petrolhead knows that no straightaway on a touge is perfectly straight, just gentle enough to accelerate. Thus, especially on this course, there is almost at least a little bit of lock applied or being applied.
      I rest my case.
      Thank you and good night.

      its hard to keep things fair without having an oversimplified ruleset that forces compettition into a specific style in any sport. If drift was a more accessible (cheaper to get into and practice) sport there would be more leeway to experent with rulesets to keep 'play' more interesting, but that wouldnt gurantee a set everyone would be happy with (see FIE Olympic fencing)

    The weight transfer techniques alone are OUTSTANDING.
    The first few turns look (and probably feels) tight as hell. On 0:37 He essentially surfs the front wheels on the outside all while revving in the back. And at this point where he’s **LITERALLY GASSING IT AS HARD AS HIS INLINE FOUR CAN GO**, he somehow manages to **YANK THE WHEEL TO PERFECTLY CONSERVE MOMENTUM**, which sends him on a nice line, and exits him facing forward.
    This man is insane, and he just uploaded again about three weeks ago after a few years.

    Who is the driver? Is the car a "Hachiroku" (AE86)? And is there more footage from this driver?

  • @8401six
    @8401six 4 года назад +2

    This guy is totally insane , I can tell all the countless hours that went in before perfecting his style. The fact that he downshifts to slow down the car , either by 1-2 shifts , moving the weight forward to the car then using his steering wheel to turn into the corner rather than turning away as he pulls the handbrake , like a rally driver , he uses the front wheels as traction even if they don’t have any and in mid drift he is still turning into the corner til he thinks it’s enough to keep going straight !! This guys is a total genius , he was truly ahead of our times !
