I'm really loving the ease of melting and the interaction with vendors. I'm they type of person that gets tired of a particular scent easily so I get enjoyment out of knowing it will only last 1-2 days then I can switch it up until I'm ready to melt that scent again. Plus, I'm sick of babysitting candles too.
I totally agree with burning candles & the time it takes. Some days I know I won't be at home long enough to start burning a candle, so it's great to throw in some wax cubes & let them go :) That melter from BBW is so pretty!
I LOVE wax melts! Walmart has great scents at affordable prices but lately I have been finding awesome handmade melts from instagram. My favorites are Majestic Melts, Waltzing Candle Company and Scents by Sate.
Thanks for sharing your melter with us! Your red one really does have a deep bowl and I wish mine did then I could really get creative with my melt combos. Thanks again Kim!
The first warmer is an element warmer, as in heating element, and looks a lot like ones that candlewarmers.com carry. I have one and it is amazing! That company also carries the Candle Aire, the warmer that has a fan to blow the scent around as it melts. I have found warmers that Candlewarmers.com has discontinued at Boscovs.com significantly discounted at times. Hope that helps!
To clean my melters, I just pull it out while it is still warm, I pour out the wax, wipe the excess with paper towel, and then wash it like I’m washing a plate using a dish sponge and soap with warm water. 🤷🏼♀️. Comes off super easily that way.
Nathalie Jiron cotton balls 😂 cotton balls soak up the wax and you just wipe it out with another cotton ball once it’s all absorbed then throw it away 😉
I started setting silicone cupcake cups on the dish plate, and the dried wax pops right out and the dish stays clean. You can also purchase something similar from Candle Warmers (accessories). They worked great. Love your channel! Thanks for sharing! God bless you. ❤️
For candles that I really, really want to enjoy the fragrance I just melt them down and pour them into decorative molds that i find at the dollar store. The scent lasts forever and no PWS or burnt smell. Thanks for the video!!
Your makeup looks so pretty! This was super helpful. Never heard anyone review the BBW warmer so I was curious, the price actually isn't too bad on it with a coupon compared to what I was expecting! You have a lot of valid points that I agree with but for some reason I just still like candles more, even though they can be frustrating but they usually are stronger for me! I have a warmer without the removable dish and it's so annoying! It got some random dark spots on it that I've tried to scrub off but won't remove - maybe I'll have to get a magic eraser!
I love owls too! The plug in warmer...I am not sure if you know but when you place the decorative part of bulb, you can turn it to keep it from falling. I use cotton balls to soak wax up with no removable trays vs removing the whole decorative topper. I find it difficult to get the wax out of the smaller ones when cold for some reason.
Also, Belkin makes a timer (on Amazon) that you can choose 3,6,9 hours) of melting that you can plug your warmers into so as not to forget and leave it on. Someone else recommended it to me and it's great! It's white and lime green.
My BBW warmer is supposed to arrive tomorrow. After seeing it in your favorites I knew I was gonna have to have it. Lol. I agree about the candles. And on top of everything else wax is just cheaper. I only buy the ones I really really want ( candles) and spend on wax. Still comes out to less than I was spending. Thanks for this video. ☺️
+Nicky Roberts I can't wait to hear how much u Iove your warmer! It's absolutely gorgeous! That's a good idea...I'm also burning less, melting more and I love it😀~Kim
Love this video Kim. And you are so right. It is much more easy to melt then have candles burner when you have to go out. Also safer with kids and pets. Just like you I melt more then I burn lately. I still burn candles but not as much as I use to do. I'm so in love with your BBW melter with sleeve it looks so stunning😍 Anyways thank you for this lovely video and I'm looking foward to the next one. Have a great week. ~Jeanine
I had the owl one from wal mart but in a small bathtoom plug in/night light warmer but it broke. ; ( I too am not a fan of Walmart candles. but I do enjoy the melts! your videos keep me going!!!
+Josh Davis Hi Josh! Sorry to hear about your bathroom plug 😩. The melts from Walmart are pretty good. I had great success with the collection that came out for fall/winter. 😀~Kim
+Shannon Davidson Awww! Thank you Shannon!😊. Melting has been so nice! Creating mixes and being able to change up my scents any time. Thanks for watching!😀~Kim
I have the owl warmer from Walmart also but I have the whoot owl warmer from Scentsy and it's way prettier then the Walmart one. You should definitely purchase a Scentsy warmer. They are a little pricey but they are by far the best inn my opinion:)
thanks so much for this wonderful video don't feel sad about candles you can still warm them I'm wondering if I can do that with my 20watt glade warmer I appreciate so much that you done this video and I new to Instagram but I'm hoping ive tagged you in a picture of my favourite warmer a girl in the UK managed to get bbw warmer with same shade as yours so pretty you isn't single you've got the beautiful Willow xx
+Sharlene Scent You're very welcome! Give your warmer a go, see if it will melt down your candle, totally worth a try for sure. Not sure if I was tagged on IG. On that post just put @kanadakim1978 and that's how u can tag👍🏼. ❤️😻~Kim
I have not tried vendor wax but want to try Sassy Girl. Does vendor wax melt better in light bulb type warmers like Scentsy or the hot plate type? Thanks..I value your opinions!
+Novemberbaby333 I can only attest to electric/bulb warmers. They melt perfectly with a 25watt, and I have a 15watt in my bathroom. Awww, well thank you!😀~Kim
Hi Kim! I hope it is okay to respond here, as I realize this video is an older one. I am very new to vendor wax, and I have been running into lots of trouble finding the right warmer for it. I first tried a couple of Scentsy warmers (25 watt bulb), but found the throw (using Super Tarts Wax) to be very weak. Next I tried a Scentsy 40 watt bulb warmer, which helped, but the fragrance lasted only a few hours (I think probably it was too hot for the wax). Then I purchased a Mainstays 24 watt element warmer, and it got way too hot (I could see steam rising from the warmer), and again, the fragrance lasted only a couple of hours. So I am at a loss as to which warmer to try next. I am hoping you can help. Would the BBW bulb warmer work for my Super Tarts vendor wax? I have wax from a couple of other vendors, but I don’t even want to pull that out until I can figure out which warmer to use. Thanks so much for all your hard work on this channel. I love your videos!
I think the steam you saw is just the fragrance oil evaporating. I know each space is different. And many have different favourites for warmers etc. I live in a small home, no air conditioning in the summer etc. But I can only attest to my 1 BBW warmer and 3 Mainstays I have scattered around my place. I wish I could be of more help. I know many vendors “less is more” in wax melting. For example, SuperTarts I just need 1 cube and get a significant throw from it. More than 1 cube at a time with SuperTarts and it can drown or suffocate the scent. I know that sounds totally weird but I have found that to be true. Hope this helps, even just a little. Thank you so much for watching 😀~Kim
That does help, Kim. Thanks so much for responding. I have learned the hard way not to use too many cubes at once. I know Super Tarts has a stellar reputation so I just need to keep trouble-shooting until I find the right combo between wax and warmer. Also, I didn’t even think about the steam being the fragrance oil. I am such a newbie...I know nothing at all about what I’m doing. Lol. The journey is lots of fun though 😀 Thanks again for your help!!
It is quite the journey but a fun and great smelling one 😊. You’ll find that sweet spot with your warmers and wax amount. Just enjoy the process. The wax community is awesome. Happy to have you a part of it!😀~Kim
Hello CanadaKim1978 how are you? what kind of wax the best wax for making wax melts with the molds or making wax melts? so you can make wax melts with soy wax? and can you use use food like 100 sprinkles? and can you put real glitters too? and what kind of glitter to use too?
Hi Marisa! I’ve never made my own wax for melts etc. I know some vendors use blends with soy. Amazon has a lot of great molds to pour your wax into...the best ones are silicon molds (makes for easy piping out once cooled). I would use food sprinkles as it will likely stain your bowls. Very fine glitter might be best! But I’ve never made my own melts so I’m just going on my purchasing experience. Thank you for watching ❤️😀~Kim
I finally got the bath and body works melter.. with the same sleeve you have.. I liked it so much I bought one for my daughter for her birthday with the same sleeve.. I also got the butterfly sleeve.. did you know if you take off the sleeve you can put it over the bbw candle it looks so cute that way also.. Love my melters
Hi KIm. The crimson element warmer you showed from Pharmasave...does the BBW jar sit flat on the actual heating element or does it sit on the ceramic outer edge a bit? I find with my Glade warmers and my Yankee one that my BBW and Yankee candle jars don't come in direct contact with the element and are a tad bit wobbly. I may have to try and find one that has a bigger element surface for when I do want to use it to melt the wax in a candle jar itself.
ps...Walmart Canada is bringing in a new line of candles(customers asked for better, longer lasting scent throw candles)....they may be better then what is currently available
Thanks for sharing Kim! I've been finding Scentsy wax melts along with others in my local thrift stores. You just need to make sure that they still smell good. ☺ Take care! ~Christine
+pinkwerebunny My thrift store never has wax...boo lol. Yes! Make sure they are still strongly scented for sure. Hope you're having a great week Christine 😀~Kim

My question is can I use regular wax cubes lets say from bath and body works in the same warmer? It says its electric and has a timer. I just came across your channel. Thank you have a great day!! Also do you like BBW wax melts?
I have never used a Warmer from Kohl’s. That said, I don’t see why you couldn’t give it a go. I know the Yankee Wax Cups many use with Yankee warmers but I’ve received some cups in the past and just popped out the wax from the cup, chopped it up and melted in any one of my warmers. I’m thinking maybe I should do another warmer video...this one you found is a few years old now. I have tried BBW wax melts but they are very pricy in comparison to Better Hones & Gardens or Scentsationals from Walmart. I have a play list on how and why I chop up my BBW 3 wick candles. Way more scents to choose from and much more economical too. Thank you so much for watching Christina 😀~Kim
I unplug them when I’m at work, as I’m not around to enjoy the scent. But I keep mine on overnight or if I’m just popping out for a quick errand 😀🎄~Kim
You don't have to unplug from the wall if you use the off switch, just like you don't unplug your microwave or tv or any other appliance. Just use the switch on the cord.
I go throw it away. I have so much wax but if I was on a budget I would just melt my wax until I didn’t get a scent from it. And some brands/vendors, that could take days. Thanks for watching Armando😀~Kim
Am I allowed to say "Thanks for this video" now, like a year and a half later? Lol. I'm late to the wax melting party, and just getting into it now. This video was super helpful!
Have you seen anyone just place ice cubes on top of the wax instead of freezer? I've always done the freezer method, but ice works great and faster! Place a few cubes for a bit, then pop out! Give it a try! Or throw cotton balls in while hot!
I'm really loving the ease of melting and the interaction with vendors. I'm they type of person that gets tired of a particular scent easily so I get enjoyment out of knowing it will only last 1-2 days then I can switch it up until I'm ready to melt that scent again. I go throw it away. I have so much wax but if I was on a budget I would just melt my wax until I didn’t get a scent from it. And some brands/vendors, that could take days. Thanks for watching Armando😀~Kim
Watching on the last day of 2018! Lol
Watching this in 2021

Am I allowed to say "Thanks for this video" now, like a year and a half later? Lol. I'm late to the wax melting party, and just getting into it now. This video was super helpful!
Well thank you Venessa! And happy Melting my dear!😀~Kim
What are the watts for each of your warmers? That's important! LOL.
+ScentJunkie03 Bathroom is 15, both the owl and the BBW are 25 and the warmer/plate, I think, is 25. 😀~Kim
Have you seen anyone just place ice cubes on top of the wax instead of freezer? I've always done the freezer method, but ice works great and faster! Place a few cubes for a bit, then pop out! Give it a try! Or throw cotton balls in while hot!
Waxident HA!
Teehee 😜 ~Kim
