    I just found your channel, so fun! Does this machine need to be in a well-ventilated area? can it be used inside a home? Also, what kind of maintenance does it require? thank you

      Hi Angie, I’m happy you’re enjoying my videos ❤️ I have the xtool smoke purifier with this machine and so I can comfortably use the F1 at home without any extra ventilation. Sometimes when I don’t use the purifier, I just put the hose/ tube directly from the F1 out of the window. And that does the trick too, but I prefer the purifier for sure. You can watch my previous video on the xtool F1 for more info. In regards to the maintenance, it really depends on what material you’re cutting/engraving, but from what I have seen, you will eventually need to clean the fan, possibly wipe the lense with isopropyl alcohol if it gets messy/ sticky. And of course change filters in the air purifier if you use it. I haven’t done any of these things yet, but eventually I will. Not sure if there is anything else, these were just my first thoughts. I hope you found this useful ❤️

    Will the engraving always come out black on metal? I am looking for an etched look rather than a dark black look.
    Thank you

      This machine and all the diode lasers that can engrave metal using blue laser or infrared laser(depending on the type of metal you are using) will only mark the metal. You will be able to feel the marking with your finger nail, but it is not a traditional deep engraving you get using a Fiber laser or engraving by hand. The black colour is an oxidisation of the metal and you'll be able to rub it off or it will rub off eventually through wear(shower, swimming pool etc) Once it does, depending on how deep the marking is, the design will still show, but it will be not as deep as standard engraving if it makes sense. I'll try to make a video on this and show examples.

    Do you think we can engrave on an empty bullet brass casing? Wondering with the rounded edge if possible.

    • @HelenaDaydreamer
      @HelenaDaydreamer  9 месяцев назад

      I’d say yes, I’ve engraved brass without a problem and rounded objects too. Just depends on how long your text is or how large the image. Or you can go for the rotary and then you can engrave all the way round it.

      @@HelenaDaydreamer thanks is your promo code also valid on Canada’s website?

      @HelenaDaydreamer  9 месяцев назад

      @@SylvieCarriere-r5z I’m not sure, I think the code is only for US, but give it a go. If you go to xtool through any of my links in the description box, it should redirect you to Canadian xtool automatically. But they always run sales anyway even if the code doesn’t work for Canada 🇨🇦

    I want the engraving as same colour as gold or silver why it always comes black how can it be silver or gold?

    • @HelenaDaydreamer
      @HelenaDaydreamer  4 месяца назад

      I believe It's the oxidisation process that causes the dark colour, if you wanted the more standard engraving, consider a desktop CNC machine, which doesn't use laser but a very sharp tip to engrave/cut.

      @@MelisaHersens I’ve not tried bare aluminium yet, but I’m pretty sure it will engrave it as well.

    what do you mean by my line per cent? if I want deeper engarve I need more line per cent? if I want to engarve my mom's handwriting in my jewellery how can I do that I have it in pdf

    • @HelenaDaydreamer
      @HelenaDaydreamer  5 месяцев назад

      Line per centimetre is a setting in xcs: ‘The amount of line the machine is burning back and forth in actual one centimetre of an area’ this machine can mark the metal and depending on your settings you can have just a light surface mark or deeper mark, but it doesn’t engrave very deeply. If you want deep engrave consider F1 Ultra, which is an upgrade to the F1. You can use different files in xTool creative space, not sure about pdfs, but there would be ways to go about that too. Like screen shot pdf to create jpg and then trace the image in xcs for example..
