Thanks for the video/ information. I had been considering these SNE 38 mm Seikos, but the screw-down crown negative feedback is disappointing but important for me to hear. This is a Diver, a 200 m diver. The crown working properly is critical, at least to me.
Metal bracelets all the way for me. Can’t stand plastic, rubber, silicon, or leather straps. I have the night vision version of this watch and it is fine. The metal bracelet is very comfortable and avoids the watch being head heavy and moving around the wrist. Yes, the end links could have been solid and the clasp milled instead of pressed, but that would have added more weight and cost. Overall a great watch with good accuracy well exceeding the quoted specs.
I have never cared for bracelets. I want to be able to dip my hand in water whenever I need to. I cannot stand the jingling. I just ordered the SNE573 and it comes with this strap. I may will use a Perlon strap on it. Great video. Thanks.
SNE573 is the model name for the black themed one that comes on the rubber instead of a bracelet, besides that would recommend Barton elite silican strap (very comfortable) or the uncle seiko speedmaster bracelet people put on it
I think the bracelet is fine. I weigh it at 138 grams. Same as preceramic Submariner. That Rolex also has a stamped clasp and weighs 135 grams. You will not find a stainless steel watch with bracelet weighing less than this imo.
The rubber strap that comes on some of the models, like the SNE573, looks better than the one you bought IMO though it does have a metal keeper, but the buckle isn’t huge like yours.
That is an excellent idea. I am not too fond of Nato straps but this one would look good on a nato. Thanks for watching friend, more to come soon 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yeah, I do not like the new silicone Seiko strap line, I do not liek any silicone straps at all. They get wet extremely easily and their texture is rather disgusting.
My SNE575 has a similar crown issue where it seems like it wants to cross thread when reseating it. I have to pay extra attention to how I'm screwing it back down. There seems to be an extra click or pop that I feel when screwing it anticlockwise that indicates the threads are in right place.
They make this watch as a SNE573. The face is black and it comes with the silicone 2 piece band like you bought. The 573 is a little cheaper this model. Every knows this particular bracelet is junk.
150g is the sweet spot for a dive watch, many of mine are closer to 200g, I suspect it rattles because of the cheap and nasty hollow end links. A Good quality screw link, milled clasp bracelet is around the 100g too. Looks much better on the dive strap.
This watch is number 2 on my wish list. If I’m fortunate enough to obtain it, I think I’d use the metal bracelet for casual wear and I’d get the rubber strap if I was going swimming, snorkeling or kayaking. I worked in an industrial environment and in some situations I want the watch to be able to break away in an emergency.
I don't get Seiko, I don't get why people still buy them (guilty of that myself) quite simply hollow links are disappointing at £150, nevermind the extortionate prices Seiko charges. Nice looking watch tho', good job saving it from that insult of a bracelet. The last Seiko I bought, I already had a replacement stainless steel shroud and decent Miltat bracelet waiting to replace the plastic shroud and crappy bracelet that Seiko assumed was good enough for their Fanboys (presumably the only people still daft enough to buy from them?) It is a very good looking watch, but, so many flaws at that price. Simply not good enough Seiko.
That is a good point. Indeed I bought it at a discount (paid 350usd). I love the Citizen Aqualand first gen. way better than any Seiko. Thanks again friend for watching! 🙏🏻
The strap that you bought would have been better supplied with a rubber keeper. The metal keeper is not close enough to the strap itself and it allows it to slide out of contact with the other piece of strap from the other side of the watch. I know this because I have the self same one as you've got.
Never mind, the collar is in a different position than you would normally expect. Usually it’s in the middle of the pin. However here it is on the outside of the link where the arrow is
You're a master at spring bar removal and replacement.
😃😃😃 Not quite so, dear friend! Stay tuned for more content! 😉
No no the bracelet is soo good on the watch
i sold that one...
Good video. The watch does look nice on the rubber strap. However, I was hoping that you found a high-quality replacement bracelet😞
Totally agreed. However, I am on a limited budget 🥲🥲🥲 Thanks for watching. More to come soon! Cheers friend!

true. The crown action on this model is awful, no doubt.

I agree. Honestly I dont care much about the quality of the bracelet. Thanks for watching
Mine is on the way 308 bucks all in,will be changing the bracket for sure.like the rubber
I sold mine, but it's a great watch. Solar is really the way to go. I hate mechanical watches. Thanks for watching friend.

many thanks Greg, much appreciated 🙏🏻
I love this watch so much, wish it had solid endlinks.
Which watch did your silicon Seiko straps normally come with?
Yeah it's a nice watch. I sold mine however. This one does not come on a silicon strap, I bought that one separately. Cheers

I think thats true. The bracelet is a nice option on the watch. Thanks for watching and stay safe
The rubber strap that comes on some of the models, like the SNE573, looks better than the one you bought IMO though it does have a metal keeper, but the buckle isn’t huge like yours.
thats true. i finally put the strap back in its plastic envelope and sold the watch.
Try it on a sail cloth, corduroy or nato. This watch is a strap monster.
That is an excellent idea. I am not too fond of Nato straps but this one would look good on a nato. Thanks for watching friend, more to come soon 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This has the rubber band holder if you search. : Rubber Curved Line Watch Band 20mm Divers Model Fit for Seiko Watches $10-$20
Yeah, I do not like the new silicone Seiko strap line, I do not liek any silicone straps at all. They get wet extremely easily and their texture is rather disgusting.
Hi, thank you for a great I am seriously considering getting one of these. May I ask what size wrist you have?
Hi Chris, many thanks. I have a 7 1/4 wrist. The watch is just perfect. Stay tuned for more content! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Heavier watches are cool
not completely sure about that. However Seiko is king for sure! Thanks for watching.

Thats exactly the issue. A strange quirk by Seiko on this model. Mine is for sale. Thanks for watching friend! More to come soon! ✋🏻✋🏻

What tool for spring bar? Thanks
Hi friend. The standard one, it is easily available on Ebay/Amazon etc. Cheers

I totally agree. It still is on the silicone dive strap and i love it. Thanks friend for watching. More to come soon! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

You won't be disappointed, the movement is solid, precise and accurate. Thanks for watching friend and stay tuned for more content! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Why don't you just get the GL831 from UncleSeiko? It's the best rubber strap available for you Seiko watch.
I dont like aftermarket stuff on my Seikos. Thanks for watching friend 🙏🏻
what is the size of bracelet width?
The size is 20mm. I think I mention that in the video. Thanks for watching.

Where did you get the rubber strap?
Bought it at a local dealer while in the ME
The strap that you bought would have been better supplied with a rubber keeper. The metal keeper is not close enough to the strap itself and it allows it to slide out of contact with the other piece of strap from the other side of the watch. Do you feel like 39 mm is to small?
nope, i think thats a perfect diameter. Cheers
Dude, I just tried sizing the bracelet. Literally impossible.
Never mind, the collar is in a different position than you would normally expect. Usually it’s in the middle of the pin. However here it is on the outside of the link where the arrow is
I will make a video for you. On Thursday though because now Im in Asia. Will be back home in the west on Wednesday. Thanks for watching.
You remind me of one of those people that buys a truck and ruins it with loud mufflers and a lift kit
i dunno if a truck is worth 350 usd. Never been interested in trucks. Cheers
Bracelet has always been the weakest part of seiko divers
Thats exactly so, thanks for watching!
1st price cheap quality...seiko....for this price ...now you can have a better watches....seiko want too much money......
I must agree with you, dear Jose. Cheers and stay tuned for more!
Rubber strap yes, all bracelets suck.
agreed friend! Stay tuned! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
