Moral of the story: Its really nice to have a small group of true friends that sorrounds you and have the same humor as you, and share the same values and interests as you do.
@@shepardlovespi1446 You're right. Their big mistake was to hire a lot of grifting scum that had nothing to do with their group. They should have kept woke Hollywood turds out of their bubble.
This is a great lesson for all creative people, though. Just make stuff. Doesn't matter if it sucks, doesn't matter if you made it in ten minutes or it took you five weeks and it still sucks, just upload it somewhere with no audience in mind so that it's just shit you made for you (purest form of You comes through that way) and then people naturally attracted to your sense of humour and ideas will join in. It's a legit way to make friends/meet collaborators and get gradually better at the thing you want to do or make, while also generating a record of work progression and at least some kind of portfolio of work to show (which later works as a work development/skill development record later on).
Also hey wait, weren't there huge legal threats regarding House of Cosbys at some point? Did someone finally make enough money to tell the lawyers to fuck off? Nice.
Yeah but I write, and sometimes draw. But Idk anyone else who's interested in entertaining so I never really got to film anything so I have a screenplay and a couple solo scenes but no one to film acting it. I'm 17. Is it too late for me?
It's never too late! Open paint - put one of your drawings on the canvas, add a sentence under it, and post it on Instagram. Post another drawing, this time narrate the sentence. Congratulations, you are the next Seth McRoiland!
This is the origin stories we've been waiting for! It's so crazy to see 2 people I idolise talking about their humble beginnings. You guys are the best, keep doing what you love. We love and appreciate your team's efforts and couldn't thank Adult Swim enough for giving these geniuses a well deserved platform so the rest of the world could witness their creations. :) Love you Dan and Justin.
Just in case anyone doesn't know, Chadum H lies for fun. He thinks making things up to sound cool will win him imaginary prestige, and maybe it will, I don't know how it works. But just in case you didn't know.
Channel 101 was a huge part of my life in the mid-2000s. When Rick and Morty came out, I kept screaming the story of how it came to be at almost everyone I could. Just watching this video feels really amazing. Also, Rob Schrab's Scud greatly improved my life.
@Miguel Rodriguez millions in different dimensions if that's what you mean, episodes tho 41 from seasons 1-4 respectively, starts from 11 episodes in season 1 and 10's from other seasons.
I guess there were! Turns out Rick's first introduction to the multiverse was _very_ similar to how Sliders started. Alternate version of genius inventor shows up with a portal gun and ruins his life forever. Episodic existential dread follows.
Channel 101 was a big part of my teenage years. House of Cosbies was a huge hit with my friends and I when it came out, but I never expected to see its creators heading something as huge in pop culture as Rick and Morty. So happy to see what these guys have made.
I love how in the earliest of these great creator, you can see characters or names thta are actually in Rick n Morty, I love learning about how a group of people shaped a great thing together Keep it up.
Captain Falcon Perhaps not for everyone, but when RUclips came along, it made other platforms obsolete. It allowed anyone to post theit crap, and many people became very rich, others got jobs in their field because of it or contracts here and there (like me). It absolutely is common place now to simply say "check out my work here" or "I have this many followers, give me a free car to review", and so on. Things like that just weren't possible not that long ago. Now, if you enjoy anything, you can find videos on that topic, or make your own and find an audience. There's pluses and minuses to everything but there's no excuse to not create stuff since getting it out there is so easy. You could spend 10 years planning something, getting the budget, a cast, then finally doing it and having it suck, or make no money off it, or you can make 100 things, many of which may get you nowhere, but you'll have experience making 100 things, 10 of which may be pretty good. The point is to always practice your skill or interest.
I have to say, I remember watching all of these old skits/cartoons from channel 101 and especially being obsessed with house of cosbys. I thought they were great then and its really nice to see them become so successful and gain such a large audience.
Jey Alex The "get out challenge" is one of the stupidest fucking trends I've ever seen. It's the shit like that, that makes me want to abolish the internet
I understand justin and his friends so much when they say that having a group of friends with the same scense of humor and motivation to make stuff its one of the best thinks because thats what i need, im studying and making animations but i dont have friends with the same scense of humor, and motivation to create stupid funny things and just have fun. I bet when i find those friends it will be the best felling
Dan looks like a very calm and friendly wise old man. Funny to think he makes cartoons with this type of humor. It's like Justin represents the crazy jokes and wacky adventures of Rick and Morty, and Dan the deep philosophical meaning behind it all.
Chris Huijpen If you see the interviews with Dan about the show you'll notice how many deep and complicated little details he puts For example, in the last interview he said that the family's requests to Mr. Meeseks represented the aspect in which they are broken
I started listening to Dan Harmon from podcasts, then started listening to his podcast, then watching Community (far too late), and my mind was blown when after that I realized he was one of the dudes behind Channel 101. Dan Harmon is my hero. And Justin Roiland is hilarious as the cup.
You can totally feel they are a bunch of crazy kids in their creations ! This is still the case with Rick and Morty but as they matured there's also a lot of existential questions. I love this mix of childish humor and dark, deep questions ahaha !
Loved the vid and want to say, props to whomever over at Adult Swim is commissioning these videos to accompany season 3 of Rick and Morty. They're really fascinating and inspiring for people in this industry like me. Thanks.

The thing about Rick and morty is that isn't perfect, and that makes it perfect. While confusing, it is true.
Justin is so funny, he should make a cartoon. It would be popular af
XD absolutely. His show would be a legend! The old boy should consider an animation career sometime.
FlashyFox2001 it would be an incredibly great show that would fuck with everyone's minds!
he has, it's called "Rick and Morty"!
Michael Meehan I hope you realize they were joking
Michael Meehan you ruined it. Smh.
Justin looks like that guy from Rick and morty
You need to be more specific

David Russell I considered it but I don't think it's good enough to repost
It is awesome to see the humble beginnings of a modern classic
Truly is.
the first 7 seconds of this video, I actually used to live by that school
Jose Lopez so what .... you just want attention know stfu
Otto Lotto actually no, I’m just stating my own truth
Justin Roiland.....never stop making Rick and Morty please.
Welp, 7 more seasons have been ordered, so you don't have to worry too much.
I want it to stop

Bork Justin just a kid who grew up on a farm and Harmon an autistic loner.
Bork it's a lot like how Matt stone and trey Parker met
Madison Discostorm That olddd shot of Harmon talking about channel 101 might as well be a younger trey parker lol
Bork how are they geniuses you know it’s all cartoon right? It’s fake science dude calm down lol 😂
Like how Morty met Rick

Omg that is eyehole man

dan's "that was paradise" at the end is some extreme saudade
Young Justin is hot.
I admire Justin and Dan's work so much it feels so nostalgic hearing them talk about where they started from

why persians are everywhere dude?...i bet this Najarian dude is persian cuz im persian too and i know his last name is persian as well.
Parham He's Armenian not "Persian" (Irani)
mindsauce it can be but najar means woodcutter in persian and by the look i guessed...have a good day😉
