Astra - Indicator & Brake Light Fault - Problem Found & Fixed - How To DIY

- Опубликовано: 26 янв 2024
- In this video I show a Vauxhall Holden Astra K that has check brake light and check right rear indicator lamp warnings on dash with no working right hand brake light or right hand rear indicator light when visually checked.
After closer inspection I was able to see heat damage on the connector and the bulb / globe holder pin damaged. If you have this fault check that your wiring and terminal tension is ok before reinstall, if you have a burnt wire or damaged terminal this fault will not be solved without additional repairs including wiring repairs. This was not needed on this vehicle.

This was a very simple find and fix on this vehicle but I have found out additional information for my viewers that may help you.
This fault is quite common to these models of Astra's.
*Check connector for terminal tension / damage
*Check wiring for heat damage / high resistance heat fault
This is a common practice with any auto electrical damaged components including headlight assemblies but on these models wiring looms may need repair also.
If there is excessive damage on the wires or at the connector you will need to repair that as well. I have in the past sourced connectors and wiring from scrap / wrecking / junk yards. You can also buy wiring kits for a complete repair if needed.
After any repair check powers and grounds at the connector for confirmation of a successful repair.
After checking bulbs fuses etc saw your video and found exactly what you said .only problem i had was with the new gasket so reverted to fitting the old one. you saved me a lot of money
💪💪
Just like to say thanks as just looked at my assembly and it was exactly the same thing a broken pin so have ordered a new one 👍🏻
Exact same fault, great video, saved me a few quid
Brilliant video, thanks 👍🏼
I had an issue with my brakelight on my astra. I watched your video and went and had a look, but it wasn't the same issue, but I think an issue with the wiring - however I have somehow fixed it, and without your video I wouldn't of bothered trying so thanks!
👌👌✅
well, tell us! :D
What was the issue?
Thanks for the video!
♥♥🙏🙏
Great job Gerard👌👍🙏🙂
❤️❤️ Thank you Pat 🙏🙏🙌🙌
Has the same problem we change this parts, is it working outside but dashboard still showing failure and with the same sound
Connector ?
The connector is where the wires push into. You would either de-pin the connector or replace it completely if you have wiring or terminal related faults. If the connector is not melted and it's reusable you can do whichever you prefer.
