In this video, I will show you how to make this easy watercolor tree painting step-by-step in Procreate using the Amazing Watercolor brush pack. That way you will be able to follow along with me and recreate this artwork.
This video is meant for beginners who have some knowledge of the Procreate app.
I will be using the app Procreate on my iPad Pro (12.9 inch), but feel free to use any medium of your choice to follow along. My canvas size is 8 by 10 inches, 300 dpi and sRGB.
I am using a second generation Apple Pencil. This won't work with the Apple Pencil (USB-C), as that is NOT pressure sensitive. You must use a pressure sensitive stylus.

thank you very much, this is very helpful and clear. I have Ipad 10th generation and got the 2nd gen of apple pencil but it doesn't work with it. I got the usbc pencil but it doesnt have the pressure feature, any suggestion how I can make the water colors look like water colors 😅

      Thank you for your comment!
From what I see on the Apple website (www.apple.com/ca/apple-pencil/) the iPad you have is not compatible with the second generation pencil, so that is why it doesn’t work.
You will need to get the 1st generation pencil. That one is compatible with your iPad and is pressure sensitive.
Can you return the second generation pencil and get the 1st gen instead?
The brushes I use require pressure sensitivity to create the watercolor effects you see in the video, so it won’t work with the USB-C pencil unfortunately.
Hopefully you can still return your Apple Pencil or exchange it for something that will work for you.
