Nope, before you enter a koi house you clean your shoes in alcohol mats

How often do they clean the matts?
Not very often. They have a settlement tank before the matts. O run the same system. And I only drain the tanks with matts once a week. And there are almost never any dirt in them. The biology in them eat most of the dirt and the settlement tank takes care of most heavy particles

KoiRun because this works 😜 I can’t blame the breeders with decades of experience.. some breeders do use that by the way. But this breeder build this traditional way. Yagenji has al his ponds crystal clear trough out the year.
