    Great video, thanks! Do you typically replace the spray foam after a repair like this or would you use some type of water proof batting?

    How clean do you get the backside/dry side when you prep for new silicone? Are you using a solvent to remove all the old stuff or just getting it mostly clean with a scraper?

      Depending on the maintenance being done typically around 7 years or so.. Really gets down to the maintenance being done or not done and where in the us the hot tub is the problems I see in Arizona you will not see in states that have snow for 6 months of the year ..Hope this helps Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING

    Thanks Spa Man. When you were finished, it didn't seem like you replaced the spray on foam that you removed early in the video, is it worth replacing the foam? Does it aid in the insulation of the hot tub?

    Thank you for this fine video! I have a Boca Grande 10000 I believe from 2005. The entire cabinet and frame rotted out and animals ate some wires and hoses. The bottom is also rotted out. I want to attempt to fix it. I will build a new frame, although I'm not sure how to tackle the bottom yet, but I'll come up with something. There is a kit to create a new cabinet, but it requires a sturdy frame. I feel it will be considerably cheaper than a new ones and everything else is fine. What are your professional thoughts on taking this on? Is it worth it? Or is it a tail chaser.

    Barry's favorite tool looks a lot like Dave's Favorite tool! Scott, Have you tried using oil filter pliers instead of the Channel Locks? I have both but never use my Channel Locks anymore. Also, Sweet video, That looks like a 2004 J-355 , got one just like it in my driveway for free, if you want it? Keep em coming, good repair vids like this are hard to find :) Thank - You

    Great video. So you are reusing the white gasket and using silicone on it, correct? What would happen if you replaced the gasket and no silicone? Isn't that how they are done from the factory? Just using the rubber washer or gasket? I'm about to tackle a 2005 Maxxus and want to get everything ready.

    • @spaman5440

      Every manufacture does it different some will use silicone and some will not. on this repair I did use the old gasket because I did not have the size I needed and it was still in great condition. If the gasket was out of round, dried out, torn or damaged in anyway I would not have reused it. I just about alway use silicone on certain repairs.(a leaking jet I usually do) the reason why I will usually use it is I do not have the time to go back and redo it a second time and to date I can't remember ever having to redo a leak I fixed EVER!
      Hope this Helps You and Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING

    Great Video! I have a leak in my Jacuzzi J330 and can not pin point it, this video helps a ton. The very strange thing about my leak is that is doesnt leak consitatnly. Sometimes when its coldout it leaks. This last summer hardly leaked. Any idea why?
    Also, I live in a colder climate how do I re-insulate?

    • @spaman5440
      @spaman5440  Год назад

      Yes had this happen several times over the years.
      When it is cold out the gaskets or seals get really hard and sometime this will cause a leak and then when it it warmer or hot outside or in the tub the leak stops..... here in Arizona some owners think that the leak has stoped during the summer only to find out that it has not... During the summer it is hard to locate a leak because the water evaporates really fast. Hope this Helps Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING

    • @spaman5440

      Depends on were the leak is
      But for the most part I find and fix all leaks the same way...In your case I would need more details as to what is going on with your hot tub.

    Good video but lordy, you talk WAY TOO MUCH brother. Also, you didn't say anything about ensuring you mating up the locking nut of the jet with the ring beneath it. There is a bevel on that ring you need to make sure is mated correctly to the locking nut....
