    Thanks. I’m so new, I haven’t even done my 1st piece yet. I’m disabled on a fixed income. So it’s been taking a while to get everything I need. My last item is finally in today. Hooray, sometime today I will finally get to do my very 1st piece. Wishing you a great Monday. 💐

    The issue with the petree isn't that the UV resin is too thick sweetie it's because your inks are too saturated with color try thinning your inks with 99% alcohol and give it another go. Let your inks sink for 30 mins to 1 hr before curing but you got this!! And the reason Daniel is able to back his in black is due to it being a transparent black that again has a low pigment saturation! Keep going girl always beautiful work! Much love 💕🥰💛🧡🩷♥️

    • @TheBlueElephantGifts
      @TheBlueElephantGifts  5 месяцев назад +1

      Ok I will try that. Thank you so much 😊 Have you been able to do petri with uv resin?

    • @cwv-artistry
      @cwv-artistry 5 месяцев назад +2

      @@TheBlueElephantGifts yes, I had STRUGGLED with it so much that I had completely given up then after Julie from pouring your heart out did a piece and walked through what would cause the inks to leave a funky film over the backs and the pigments not to drop I ordered some of the decorom pigments and what a difference!! Plus I learned to wait an hour before moving to the swirl or curing (if UV resin) which I believe was the biggest game changer of all! Give it another go but with either thinning your inks or the decorom pigments and see what you think. I believe it will help you a lot!

    Thanks for sharing this ❤ I just thought perhaps you could use the "Mistake" with Marabu Ink to your advantage... Use the normal inks on the outside and create kind of a window i the middle with the marabu where you can put something after curing before putting the back colour on. Don't know if I explained good enough 😅 greetings from Germany ☺️

    • @TheBlueElephantGifts
      @TheBlueElephantGifts  5 месяцев назад +1

      That’s a possibility. Honestly even though the ones with the marabu didn’t turn out how I wanted I still think they are really pretty. Especially when the lights hit the glitter that’s in there they just shine. ❤️❤️❤️

  • @hankieski1549
    @hankieski1549 5 месяцев назад +1

    Omg I want that light so bad but it’s so expensive…😢. Thanks for the advice on holding the light farther away for a first cure then using the higher wattage to finish. I will definitely try that. Love the pieces you made! I wonder if fewer drops of the colorant/ink might work better, like just three or four drops, especially with such small pieces. And for a flame effect maybe try putting all the color at the bottom in the resin and dragging it upwards? Not sure. Thanks for the vid! ❤❤❤

    • @TheBlueElephantGifts
      @TheBlueElephantGifts  5 месяцев назад

      It’s fantastic I love it so much. Honestly in my opinion and from my experience when you drop the alcohol ink in like that you typically are going for the petri effect and it really doesn’t work with uv resin. Not that I am a master of it by any means because I’m not but you need a lower viscosity resin so that the inks can drop down. If the resin is too thick the inks won’t drop right. Uv resin it’s typically a thicker viscosity so it doesn’t really move. At least in my experience.
