Funny thing is they don't need to set at all the ice cream reacts right away with the fruit roll up. It becomes crunchy almost immediately. That's the fun of it.
The guy doing the Dutch Baby in the video also made Fruit Roll-Ups with mango sorbet and Tajine seasoning/chili powder. You may want to try that as well. And put an oven mat at the bottom of your oven, less cleaning. ❤❤❤
FYI... you will get a better lift on the Dutch baby if you preheat the oven with the pan in it and then just pull out the hot pan to melt the butter. I make them all the time... they are an absolute FAVORITE. Also... with the high hydration of that batter you don't need to worry about gluten over-production... you can blend that sucker 'till the cows come home. :)
You also want LOTS of air in your batter so over blending helps aerate it! I think if she hadn't spilled the batter and let the pan/butter cool while she cleaned it up and reheated the oven, she would have gotten more puffiness. You also want all of your ingredients at room temperature.
The fluffy pancake things are basically a Yorkshire pudding which you serve with roast potatoes stuffing meat veg like carrots broccoli cauliflower cheese sometimes Mac and cheese it a uk meal which in my family a roast dinner but you do Yorkshire pudding in like muffin tins
Hi, definitely team sitting! I have made marshmallows in the past, and one trick is to drizzle the hot liquid into the KitchenAid as it’s whipping just poured down the side of the bowl and see if it makes a difference
@@jazzyg1162 I would think since it's just sugar and gelatin the clean up would be easy, just let it sit with warm water for a few minutes and it would completely dissolve.
@Jazzy G when I worked as a chef, any time we made toffee or caramel like this, to clean up the tools and pots was easy because we filled them with water and boiled to dissolve the sugar. Works even with set toffee
I also recommend this. Gelatin does not like to set after hot temperatures. Letting the "sugar" drizzle down the side of the bowl while it's whipping helps cool down the sugar before it hits the gelatin. Be careful to make sure the hot sugar hits the bowl before it hits the whip though. You don't want hot sugar being flung around. Ouch! You may also need to weigh off the gelatin as the packets are not always accurate. After it's done whipping, you need to work fast to get the marshmallow in the pan.
I've made many marshmallows, and I adore it. I'd recommend starting by making marshmallows with just sugar syrup instead of candies for the experience. Yours did remind me of my first attempt, lol. The temp of the sugar is really important, and I saw someone else mention pouring the sugar in slowly while the machine is on. Even with experience, it's sometimes hard to know exactly when to pour it into a mold so it doesn't do that sticky mess business. Good luck!!
@@MAashChick You can make it with just sugar and gelatin, I find they turn out great. I do also adore Swiss and Italian meringues for a variety of applications, just not marshmallows
as a brit its so weird hearing a canadian talking about yorkshire puddings! i love them and will be having some tomorrow, like every sunday! i want to see chris' version
Absolutely a yorkshire pudding, although more typical to use oil rather than butter so you can get it hot enough without burning the fat! Gorgeous with a roast and gravy or just on its own.
I made pink champagne marshmallows for my wedding! The main difference was that i put the fluff into greased pan that was covered in a mixture of powdered sugar and cornstarch. Would love to see the marshmallow saga continue!!!❤
try putting marshmallows in the frezzer and eat them straight from thre freezer. They crack in such a satisfying way before going soft. We do it every xmas with all the different types of holiday marshmallows
My mom used to make me a German pancake for breakfast on my birthday every year. My favorite way to have it is with butter, powdered sugar, and fresh lemon juice - and of course a birthday candle 😂. Yours turned out beautiful!
The 2nd one here in the UK is a giant yorkshire pudding. Great with gravy on a roast dinner. But we would put oil in the pan or tray instead of butter. I love yorkshire puddings. Good as a pudding too.
Oh! As a fellow protein deficient person, I LOVE adding flavoured protein powders in my waffles! It takes me around 10 mins to make from start to finish and the end result is delicious
I hear a lot of people talk about eating more protein. In the last year, I’ve talked to so many people who have had issues with their kidneys. My Dr recently told me that I need to watch how much protein I’ve been consuming. If I had to do the last 10 years over, I would be watching my kidney values and the amount of protein I’m eating. Not a dr, but wanted to share my experience. I would recommend people talk to their dr about this.
Sitting or standing I don't care I love ur energy. I did the fruit roll up thing like everyone else. The vanilla ice cream I liked. I also liked sorbet. I did not like the sticky fingers. So what did I do? I put those suckers in the package in the freezer for about 5 min then crushed it over a small bowl of ice cream. I like it better that way.
I’m so excited to watch you make the jolly rancher marshmallows!!! I saw the video on tiktok and have been planning to make them with my friends, but we haven’t gotten to it yet, looking forward to see how it goes!
Try making the Yorkshire pudding (pancake thing) and having it with sugar, it’s so good, I’ll have them on my Sunday dinner with gravy and then with sugar for pudding 🥰
Absolutely loved this video (and let's be real, all of your videos!). Glad everything turned out. Love this colour on you! Would love to know where your sweater is from
The Jolly Rancher marshmallows look and sound really good!! Also worth mentioning IMO - they used to make Jolly Rancher sticks, I don't know if they still do. I remember going to the corner store when I was a tween and buying the sticks. They were like 10-15¢ each, so you definitely got your money's worth. But, alas, I am old(ish) and these things may not even exist anymore 🤷🏼♀️.
Yesss!! I would also buy a jolly rancher stick and a blow pop, put the jolly rancher in the microwave for a couple seconds and wrap it around the blow pop!! 😋 The good days!
That pancake thing is almost exactly like a Finnish pannukakku, other than sometimes cardamom is added to the batter, but not always. It's traditionally served with jam, but my family always went the maple syrup route. I think every country must have a version of this dish because I've seen it from Sweden, too.
You aren’t supposed to actually freeze the fruit roll up and the ice cream! After putting it together that’s when you eat it and that’s how you get the crunch from the ice cream freezing the fruit roll up! So try it that way next 😊
Film however makes you comfortable, I work at a coffee shop and I make the lemonade protein daily. I love it so much, however I only use one scoop of protein. I’m going to have to bring in some orange juice so I can try that version.
I grew eating those and they’re so good😭😩 I’ve always called them German pancakes (I’m from the U.S.) it’s so so fun watching you guys experience this yumminess for the first time!!
I highly recommend going ahead and doing sugar, vanilla, and a dash of salt to the Dutch Baby. Wonderful with a drizzle of syrup and Powdered sugar. I've also added blueberries to the batter after blending then did dollops of lemon curd on top!
For the fruit roll up one- tip 1: use sorbet. anything else is a knock off you gotta use sorbet. tip 2: you definitely don't need to put it in the freezer at all. tip 3: long and skinny is the best. nice little crunchy bites. I'm eating one right now lol
Been mixing oj with my vanilla protein powder for years ... I do 8 oz of juice then 4oz of water.... I do two scoops of protein powder then a little ice to blend. It gives orange creamsickle Vibes. Pineapple juice is good too!
Lol, that moment when you pull the Swedish Pancake (that's what we always called it) out of the oven - cut an ad showing the gal pulling out the litterrobot out for her significant other!! Seriously!
I think for the marshmallow thing, from what I understand of regular mashmallow making; you need to mix the gelatine into the water and then leave it. then when you have the hot jolly rancher sugar syrup I believe you need to start the stand mixer and then stream it, kind of slowly into the mixer whilst it's on and then keep whisking for the 10 mins. I'm not going to guarantee that it will work the way I said but, hope it works out if you try it again!! Love your videos!
The pancake thing you made I have always known as a yorkshire pudding. It is something that would be served alongside of a roast beef and we used the dripping from the beef as a type of gravy over it.
I do the Dutch babies with a bit of baking powder and baking soda. Add juice of one lemon and zest. Serve with lemon zest and powdered sugar. The leavening agents make it rise a bit. So much better than plain with syrup! Always a family favorite. Def not a pancake
When we prepare our Dutch Baby, we squeeze lemons over the top and then cover with powdered sugar. Perfect pairing... a breakfast mixed with dessert. Jolly Ranchers are squeezed out of message in a rope and cut. If they are not wrapped, they will stick to each other and everything else.
my dad used to make those pancakes as a special saturday breakfast when I was a kid (we called them "puff babies") and we always topped them with lemon juice and powdered/icing sugar (maybe a little syrup if you have a sweet tooth like me). Highly recommend that way!!
I don’t really like protein powder, but a scoop of unflavored collagen powder in my coffee every day has been a great boost to my protein intake and my skin loves it too!
I'm excited to try the protien powder in orange juice. I also need more protien in my life and I love creamsicles. I kinda want to try the ice cream wrapped in fruit roll ups, but I'm not sure if it'd be my thing as I don't usually like hard shells on my ice cream.
For the Dutch baby, if you put sliced apples in the butter first with cinnamon (sprinkled) while the butter melts, and THEN pour the pancake batter over is Supreme.
