Once again the beauty and complexity of Mozart's musical thought leaves me at a loss for proper words. This trio is a model of compositional ingenuity; much of the first movement comes from the opening piano melody and it's simple counter-theme from the violin. The the third movement combines the various melodic ideas in free and effortless counterpoint. The truly amazing part of this is not the complexity per se, but rather the fact that whatever compositional challenge Mozart sets himself, the result is always of the most ineffable and breathtaking beauty.

Thanks so much!
