China always want to purchase U$A products.
But no choice now ..need to work very hard to survive , to feed its people.
    Need to de-risk.
China has the right to defend itself, to protect its people.

Suggestion: Hold Elections.Let chinese people choose their own leaders. The useless officials there can retire in their Maldives, Vancouver, long island and Manhattan mansion that they buy for cheap from using Squatters. Win win. No sane people want to build systems that monitor people one even for security reason. Much less AI that do precrime(hallucinations due to Bias) or US consumer Consumption data like moonshot AI.

It was more cost-effective for China to purchase reliable Western chips, benefiting both sides. China spends more on chip imports than on oil. The US sanctions forced China to develop its domestic supply chain. When self-sufficient, China can provide the world with more affordable chips.
The US and its allies are developing their own supply chain, but it cannot be competitive without access to a large market. The US is sparing no effort in its Tonya Harding competition strategy. The Chinese are very grateful to the US for pushing them towards self-sufficiency. Thanks to the US, China now has its own GPS system and space program. More sanctions, please.
While the G7 accounts for 10% of the world population, it constitutes 60% of the global budget deficit.

China followed the same mentality with its commercial airliner program, they've spent over $100 billion during the last 2 decades to make their own domestic airliner and they've miserably failed, all the investment and IP theft couldn't help them, and they had no choice but to ask the Americans make them one (Comac), and after a decade of collaboration and numerous attempts from China to steal the technologies and IPs from the American and European suppliers, still 70% of the Comac parts come from US and Europe, semiconductor field is far more complicated than making an airliner, China would never reach self-sufficiency and as we go forward the technological gap will be even wider as US and its allies become more protective.

All the country that do well in chip manufacturing , has Confucianism culture.
For chip manufacturing, a high level of discipline is the key, and most Americans today don't possess it.
    They call it “forced labour"
Taiwanese media reported on August 2 that TSMC claimed the production holdup at its Arizona facility was caused by a shortage of trained American labour and that they had sent staff from Taiwan to assist with the factory's development. Labour union officials in Arizona, on the other hand, criticised TSMC for exploiting this as a justification to bring in "low-wage foreign labour."

One common mistakes people made in the comment section is that they think semiconductor are cutting-edge technology and which means 5nm or smaller, but the fact is not all devices we use require chips that are 5nm or smaller. China is currently working toward 5nm chip and already capable of producing semiconductor that are 5nm or greater. No matter how the US attempt to block China's semiconductor ambitions, it will never work. Scientific advancement is not something can be contained, unless you are so advance like 100 to 500 years ahead of China, therefore I don't see the US or the west can succeed in containing China.

Nowadays, China leads in almost all critical technologies.
The Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) is one of the largest think tanks in the world and advises the Australian government and defense organisation. They made a research for many, many years.
They investigated how China is doing in the field of innovation, in the field of critical technologies. And they analyzed the 44 most critical technologies in the world and tried to figure out where China and the US and every country in the world are, number one, number two, number three, number four, number five.
The result they came to was that China in 37 out of 44 areas of critical technologies, is leading in terms of innovation. They Are ahead of the US, ahead of the rest of the world.
They have even established a monopoly on 8 of these technologies. Nowadays, think about electric batteries. And there's many others. While the US is only in 7 areas still in a leading position. The reality is that China is a leader in almost every technology or critical technology in the world.

I have to burst your bubble regarding the Australian Strategic Policy Institute report , as the report metric is mostly based on the countires number of published papers and the citations, which is inherently wrong as most of the papers that come out of China has no real value and come from China's scientific paper mill industry, ( nobody reads them as they are considered worthless - check Nature fo China's paper mill industry).
If you want to know exactly where US and China stand when it comes to science and technology, then actually, the lastest DOE report on US competitiveness shows that *China is at least 10-20 years behind US in every scientific and technological field, they are 15 years behind US in Qunatum Computing, (US has 1,121 qbit QC from two different companies with different technologies while China is struggling to develop its own 50-72+ qbit QCs) the only area where China is ahead (5-7 years) is their capability in mass manufacturing of non-advanced products.*

Look at how the chinese has now dominated the Olympics in number of gold medals from a poor improvish country with hardly any industrialization and technology, now China has overtaken the US over a significant number of technologies.
Look at China's space station, China was denied use of the International Space Station and China build their own and in couple of years the ISS will have to be decommission and than China will be the only country to have a space station in the entire world.
