    I like what one commenter mentioned about having generic packing lists depending on what type of trip you take! Great advice! This is always overwhelming for me.

    As a frequent traveller I agree fully with all points. I have generic packing-lists for each kind of trip (business, weekend with family, exotic back-packing etc.), stored on my phone in a todo-list app. It also helps to observe and write down the quantity of product you usually need for eg. 1 week, 1 month etc.

      That's a great idea to have multiple packing lists stored, Mechthild! Thanks for sharing your packing tips! 😍

    A colleague once gave me the tip to roll clothes before packing. This advice has served me for decades! It's also easy to find and pull out one specific item out without creating chaos in the bag or suitcase. I also follow all your other tips so I can say, these are excellent recommendations for those who didn't know 🙂

    I have never been a good packer. My husband & I went on a 4 day 3 night trip and we took 4 suitcases, our pillows, 1 bag for shoes a bag for snacks & one cooler. Thank goodness we were driving. The back seat & the back end of our vehicle was full. All my girlfriends laugh at me when I go away with them for a weekend trip. I bring way to much thinking I will need it. I will be watching your videos for help & tips. Thank You!

      Hi Mary, I've enjoyed picturing the back of your car for your weekend getaway. 🤣 So I do have an exercise for you next time you have a trip like that. When you get home, take a look at what you actually wore compared to all of the items you packed. If you don't give yourself a million options, you'll be forced to wear the few things you packed for the trip and it will all work out. Thanks so much for watching my video and sharing your story! 🥰

    When I am packing shoes, I put a thin plastic bag inside each shoe and fill it up with small items like rolled up underwear. I found out about rolling clothes instead of folding them many years ago on TV and it was an absolute game-changer. Totally agree about making a list.

    I have a 'master list' so when I pack I take it out and check off what I need for that particular trip. Easy and stress-free. When I'm away, if I think of something I wish I'd brought I make a note of it and add it to my 'master list' when I get home. My best tip for winter travel is to wear a black top and pants, one cardigan and one jacket, and pack one navy top and pants. Ring the changes by packing two or three silk scarves in different, bright colors so that it looks like I've got several different outfits. Summer travel - three dresses and a cardigan. I struggle with choosing shoes to take and always pack too many, but I'm working on that! (Your tips please!) Also, panty liners are great for keeping fresh. And by the way, I love your color choices!

      Had to laugh, my father had a master list for each of us (family of 4) over 55 years ago. I remember when we were packing for our holidays the list came out and was ticked off even down to knickers, socks etc. needless to say we never forgot anything.

    I love & dread going on vacation because of the packing! My husband always says he'll do his own, but I ALWAYS end up doing it because it's getting to the date & hasn't been done, & that is so stressful to me. My family jokes about my packing because I have been known to pack for a trip a couple months ahead of time. & I mean everything down to the last detail! An outfit, acessories & shoes for each day & then a couple alternatives. You have managed to pare it down so much, & your clothes are beautiful, my kind of colors! Hopefully on our nest trip I will incorporate some of your ideas!

    We always travel light. It's the best way to go and makes getting from point A to point B much easier. I roll my clothing and put them in packing cubes. A contact lens case is perfect for face cream. I put my day cream in one side and my night cream in another.

    I make a list of what to bring, and review it when I get back to see what I wore most and least so I can adjust for the next time (recently I have only travelled within Canada and just to Victoria and Ottawa). I love organizing LOL.

    I consider myself a pretty good packer but that doesn’t mean I don’t struggle with it. I’m packing for a two and a half month trip so packing outfits for every day won’t work. I need 11-12 versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched to create multiple outfits. I always roll my clothes and use packing cubes to keep my bag organised. My big problem has nothing to do with packing; it’s about meeting the weight limits. In Australia our carryon bag can be a maximum of 7 kg so my bag is fully packed but is still half empty or half full, depending on how you want to look at it. I’ve packed navy linen pants, white linen pants, black leggings, 6-7 tops, a light denim jacket, a light cardigan wrap, 1 scarf, 1 dress and a pair of sandals. Everything else needs to be unceremoniously stuffed into my handbag somehow. I’m talking all my toiletries, hearing aids, noise-cancelling headphones, medicine, jewellery and an electric toothbrush. And my wallet and passport! I’m not sure how this is going to pan out but I’m not ruling out walking onto the plane wearing all my clothes just yet. When we leave Europe and go to the UK I will post most of my clothes home and go to Marks and Spencer to buy two or three cashmere sweaters to go with my jeans and some waterproof boots or shoes. I’m not worried about wearing clothes on repeat or washing every couple of days but I am worried about getting onto the plane with my bag and everything I need with me because I don’t want to risk checking it. I do plan on wearing a t-shirt, shirt, sweater and very light-weight puffy onto the plane carrying my overstuffed handbag and pulling my half-full carryon. It’s going to be hilarious! Wish me luck!

      Hi Elly, OMG thank you so much for sharing your travel packing struggles! Believe it or not, I actually love challenges like that and creating multiple outfits out of just a few pieces is easier than you think. Check out these videos: ruclips.net/video/R72XPBR642o/видео.html ruclips.net/video/ieETRbVYPo0/видео.html they won't be the same clothes but hopefully they will give you inspiration of how to mix and match the clothes you already have for maximum wear. Best wishes on your trip🥰

    Not Robert- For a cruise to Alaska, I had one pair of off the boat flat booties waterproof shoes, one pair of off Navy colored shoes for onboard and a black pair of flat evening shoes. Wear layers of the same ( navy) colors, from morning until evening. A black plain top,
    black pants and several colorful lightweight “ Kimono” style scarfs for the evening. Oh! Always bring several bras for hot weather, it is easy to get a bacterial infection rash from perspiration from your bra. Try wearing antiperspirant under your boobs. And, yes, always bring a multi use scarf.

    Don't you have to put a lot of your toiletries and makep in a liquids bag for carryon? The 1 quart size?

    • @dianebabcock2543
      @dianebabcock2543 2 года назад

      According to TSA.gov the 3-1-1 liquids rule still applies. So yes, you still have to put your liquids in a 1 quart bag.
