Before the internet. We used to talk to our friends and neighbors. Lots of things can be done when you're not spending several hours a day on our phones.
Thank you! I've been too afraid to try doing this myself, my dad was always around to do stuff like this for me. he will be proud when I give it a try and it works.
Thanks for your video. My toilet in my master keeps filling a few seconds every 30 minutes or so even after I replaced the rubber plunger. I needed to figure out what's involved in replacing the flush valve as I knew that was the culprit. Also bought me a new set of hollow shaft nut drivers which I've been wanting to get as a result of your video. 🙂
Thanks so much! Did this last night followed along with your video - everything is working great and no leaks. I got the extra rubber washers for the bottom great tip!
Fix it guy thank you for the extra extremely detailed demonstration. Just got done with the very project you are teaching about. Your details are on point !!!!!!!! Wifey is happy 🙂🙂
Awesome, just did my master bedroom bathroom. Last time I had a plumber come do my sons bathroom he charged $400. I just it for myself for $30 💪🏼 thanks buddy.
Thank you! My friend installed one for me and now running every 15 minutes for 6 seconds. I cannot sleep. I appreciate your wonderful demonstration it was quite helpful. Nora Dee/ SI, NY
Well done, I do the same with the tank bolts I always check to make sure the nuts are not bigger than the holes in the bowl if their to big there's a possibility when you tighten down the tank you might Break it
tightent down the tank using the bolt washer nuts sequence you suggested, really liked it but my tank is wobbly and had to use secure a tank separately so it wont move. pretty sure i tightened it pretty good since there was no leak, just wondering what would cause the tank to wobble like that
Back when we had real hardware stores most workers were knowledgeable on fixing stuff. I’ve got a cousin, she’s been in the hardware business since she started working in one after school at 15, she’s in her mid 60’s now and probably more knowledgeable at fixing most stuff around the house than most men. During the 08’ and 09’ recession. She gained a lot of customers because people couldn’t afford to hire someone to fix their stuff. Lowe’s and Home Depot didn’t have a lot of people with the appropriate knowledge to give customers help on what they needed to know. I have been in her store when people would come in with disassembled parts and say I need parts to make this work. 95% of the time she had what they need to get them going again. Knowledge is power, but we seem to forget that a lot of the time.
Just take your time. It's not rocket science. Everything that is made on the basis of analogy, you can do it. Digital things are the problem. You have to buy and pay full price, lol
being a single mother has nothing to do with it but you all do cry the same old "poor me" tune and people truly understand how and why you ended up that way.
I’m going to attempt today to change the inside of my toilet and I had better clean come to clean my tub pipes they blew them apart and wanting me to pay 450.00 I said for what you reeked my ceiling and my pipes you owe me
You explain everything really well , your also quite charming. Thank You for your help. I even had already bought the same fix it kit .....(years ago LOL)
So what would the problem be if your getting blue dye barely dripping in the bowel? Thats whats happening to me but the flapper is new since it came in the kit. Im puzzled and need some help
I change a washer bolt from behind underneath the toilet bowl than the water stopped dripping. But i then notist behind the toilet it sweats and i see water behind the toilet base. I think because the owners here took the basement pipes for condensation. And since them im even having issues with my water pressure. Here in nebraska it gets very cold and freezing. I think they shouldn't never took the pvc pipes along the wall for the condescension. I told the owner and she said that dosent have nothing to do with the issues.
Hey Brian, how much would this service cost someone in your area? I'm here in the SF bay area so thing's tend to cost a bit more here. Just curious, I'm a handyman and preform this service regularly. .... Great job! I like watching you video's you articulate everything perfectly.
Not enough I think. The cheapest plumber I know around here these days charges 200.00 an hour. At least 250.00 I’m sure. I just did one for a box of bing cherries. Steal.
25? In my country all the parts are at least double it and I just had to check the prices since my parents had a large leak. no only have to fix small leak with the water supply and the flex ones are to long so have to fix it the old fashioned way. Doing it within 10 hours from now.
Excellent tips for today I thank you very much... I do have a question for you I have a downstairs bathroom with an ejector pump seems like the injector pump hangs up from time to time overflowing onto my basement floor so when I unscrew the lid and look inside there appears to be big soap balls, softball in size. we do have a downstairs shower, the only one in the house that is heavily used if those are so called soapballs how can I get from building up and causing my plunger valve not to engage..causing a mess on basement floor... thankyou.. It happens 6 to 7 times per year..
Wow. That is an interesting issue. Softball size is crazy!! Have you gloved up and grabbed one? What does it feel like? What kind of float is in there? Your floats hanging up on the balls?
@@ThatFixItGuy its hard, it hangs up over the float preventing the float switch to activate ejector pump.. yes they float....I clean them out its usually 2 or 3... white in color... the only thing I can figure is somehow the shampoo from shower is maybe intertwined with hair from shower & maybe some toilet paper forming a softball... it happens 6 to 7 times a year always the same looking type balls in the injector pump tank... it's the weirdest thing...
Either your flapper is leaking by or the flush valve seal as gone out. I would pull off the flapper and see if it is warped and/or falling apart. You can run your finger around where the flapper sits as well make sure it is smooth. If all that looks good it is going to be that gasket. If it is that then rebuild the whole toilet tank. Hope this helps.
@@ThatFixItGuy no thats not it. I had a power flush system and tried to replace it with a conventual gravity system. I didn't realize that you can't use a toilet designed for a power (pressure) flush with gravity system. I need a new bowl. Thanks for the response.
All fine and dandy until you have you start taking your toilet apart and learn that you have a Kohler-style 3-bolt tank and thus need to order a different type of gasket.
I'm not sure how men used to fix things before RUclips. Thanks! Straightforward and simple.
Or women..! ☺️
Pleeease. My husband won’t touch a screw driver or anything of the sort. I’m the one watching this video trying to fix the toilet. 🤨

I’m a woman who wants to fix her toilet you fast forwarded through stuff I needed. Nice video
In your settings you can change the play back speed to make it slower.❤I had to do that when he was installing the one part. Hope this helps 🥰
Man it’s nice to see videos where people teaching really get to the point. Appreciate your insight. Awesome video
Thank you! I've been too afraid to try doing this myself, my dad was always around to do stuff like this for me. he will be proud when I give it a try and it works.
This was so easy to follow, went and bought the package came home and an hour later my toilet was like new! Thank you

Thank you for showing me how to fix my old toilet! This video will help me out real soon.
I would love to hear how it goes for you!
Thanks so much! Did this last night followed along with your video - everything is working great and no leaks. I got the extra rubber washers for the bottom great tip!
One of the best instructional videos i have ever seen.
Thank you so much. You are so sweet. For teaching every body to fix our toilets. Your so generous and very professional. Sending blessings. 🙏
Thanks for the tips Brian! I need to add another couple of tools to my kit - the hollow shaft nut driver, and the ridged plastic nut cutter!!
Your very welcome! Thank you for watching!

Rebuild is the way to go for an older toilet. Don’t always go this smooth! 😉 Thanks for watching.

Thank you. Trying to help where I can!
Great video 👍
Thank you!
Thanks bro!
Should the tube that fills the tank and is attached to “overflow pipe” pour the water inside the pipe or outside of the pipe, directly into the tank?
That sas really helpfull Thank’s
Always useful!! Thanks bud!
Appreciate you watching! I know you are busy!
Thank you!!!
Thanks brotha!
how do you know which replacement to buy or are they all the same size
Yeah take the bowel off and find out you need your milwaukee die grinder from work to remove the most corodded bolts i ever seen in my life 😆 🤣
Great tutorial. There are a few things that could be overlooked without you help. Thank you very much and all the best.
OK that other video sucks this video right here is the business. Thanks.
What happens when the screw head to the bolts that hold the tank on has stripped grove and is unable to hold in place so the nut can be taken off 😩
How far from the handle do you want to cut the flush valve tube?
SASA 560 toliet (house built in 2013) would I use the same instruction video? I all ready purchased the same kit you show.
Thanks for the video, how long should my old toilet like yours in the video take to refill? Thanks- 3-23-24

My tank water is leaking into the toilet. I used wrong nuts instead of regular nuts. Do I need to keep tightening? Didn't want to crank the toilet
Thank you for a great tutorial. If my bowl water turns blue after the food coloring test, how do I fix it?

What can I do if I can’t remove the supply line and wd40 isn’t working?!
What would you do if there was blue dye that moved into the toilet ?
Does this work for the foremost tank, too?
Yes
Where EXACTLY should the water that fills the tank be flowing from?
HELP! i replaced the tank as you show but when i flush it, it wont flush. i get some bubbles in the bowl and that's it.
I wonder if you got some debris in the bowl. Try taking a piece of wire and clean out the holes in the toilet bowl

Why does everyone at the beginning tell us to hit that subscribe button. We may not like the video. So you should ask us at the end of the tutorial.
Sorry I was young and just starting out. I knew no better.
Overhaulin!!
Yes sir it is!
Never over tighten or you risk a leak
I replaced everything it changed nothing toilet still hissing once per minute and still running
Theres no blue in that toilet bowl... but plenty of brown
How did the wife’s quarantine haircut come out? Get brave and embarrass the dickens off of her
Lol. We shall see!
What if the toilet tank is not capable of being removed? It's all one piece.
You never explained the height adjustment for the tank fill valve. You showed loosening it up...for now, and you never got back to it.
He did explain it, you missed it.
