Nice pack and kit. I totally agree with you on bringing an axe instead of a large knife in the winter. To be able to make a largish fire in a shortish period of time might be a real life saver if you happen to fall into the water or something like that. Thanks for sharing :) - Martin
3:18 That is great ..the webbing control..we usually have to roll up our excess straps, and use rangerbands to tie em up. Wish them side pockets @5:29 could hold a water bottle..however one can use a bottle pouch attachment on the side. It is a sweet pack. thanks for the review. Cheers ;-)
+Kanzee yeah bottle pouch attachment or if you use the compression strap a kleen kanteen will stay in there. you can then use a clip on the cap to the molle for additional security.
Nice Review Ben! I was tempted at purchasing a Source pack before, but then saw your review for the Direct Action packs. I decided upon the DA Ghost in black (awesome pack!). That is a nice coat/jacket, whom is the manufacturer and model? I didn't catch it, but does the Schrade hatchet/axe come with the Kydex sheath; or did you have to buy it separately? Thank you.
+Christopher Vietor The Ghost is a great pack as well, both companies favorites of mine. The jacket is a SJ3 from Snugpak. The kydex sheath was custom made by C2GFAB.
Thanks for this review, I just recently this particular pack and it's look very promising. Could you tell about how comfortable the weight distribution & suspension system of this pack assuming 100 hour of trekking excursion?
Great video. I just bought a 5.11 Rush 24, but this would be a great option for a 72-hour bag. On an unrelated note I've been looking for some aluminum stakes exactly like those, specifically because of the holes. Are they just some random stakes you found, or you know who makes them?
+Chance Feliciano i've done many loadout videos in most of my pack videos. i have a series called prepared to survive which I will most likely update in 2016. Happy holidays and thanks for watching.
Living Survival I wonder if they are marketed under another name in the USA like Carinthia Sleeping Bags are sold under another name? I know there are plenty of European dealers that would sell to the USA and Tasmanian Tactical in Canada usually has many of the models in stock.
You should review the "Red Rock Assault Pack" I just got it and I like it so far but I would like your opinion on it so if you could review it that would be cool, thanks!
A good backpack, no doubt, but 300$ for that is crazy. For that much money I can make a very good complete BOB. I guess some people just got the money.
Dump the goal zero brand batteries. You can see their power level (measured in mAh) at their website. They tend to offer about 1/4 what you can expect from other brands. The basic guide 10 is a fine device (if you want to deal with only using nimh batteries), but their branded batteries are terrible.
+Living Survival they are tough but they are not powder coated steel. UV light will make them brittle in a few years. Again, the buckles, rings and zippers are tough, light weight and durable. I prefer steel.

I really wish it came in multicam, but regardless I'm gonna get this instead of the patrol 35l because I live in Colorado and the winter sucks
And not that I have it, I wish I had gotten a pack about 5L larger
Could you review the Source Tactical Pro 95L?

Looks like a nice pack. But I am not an fan of the the two rear pockets. Looking for a new/alternativ to 5.11 Rush 72h witch I like a lot.
Thanks for this review, I just recently this particular pack and it's look very promising. Could you tell about how comfortable the weight distribution & suspension system of this pack assuming 100 hour of trekking excursion?

Not a bad looking pack, but for $300 I'ld go with the Tasmanian Tiger Raid Mk 3.

Living Survival I wonder if they are marketed under another name in the USA like Carinthia Sleeping Bags are sold under another name? I know there are plenty of European dealers that would sell to the USA and Tasmanian Tactical in Canada usually has many of the models in stock.

+Simon Forget thx, I updated it ;)

+Christine Lokitis from source tactical. you can get them here in the US from empire tactical though.
Great pack except the plastic buckles, D rings and zippers are the weak points... Pardon the pun, please.
+robert jeffery duraflex buckles are actually the highest quality molded buckles I know of.
+Living Survival they are tough but they are not powder coated steel. UV light will make them brittle in a few years. Again, the buckles, rings and zippers are tough, light weight and durable. I prefer steel.
