I had a classmate like that. She had one brain cell BUT HOLY SHIT SHE WAS A GREAT MOTHER. Her kid was the most well behaved sweet girl ever and this woman dealt with every tamper tantrum and behavioural issue with such grace. She also had a lot of hidden skills when it came to design and aesthetics. She could turn a bunch of weeds into a wedding bouquet without trying. She was great at putting things together to make art, but that's a skill she wasn't aware of because people used to assume she had nothing to bring to the table. Her not being smart also made her a pretty open minded person. If you told her something she was fascinated and open to it rather than judgemental. Yeah she was gullible, took things literally all the time, and had a hard time connecting the dots but that made her hear people out in a way lots of us don't. Sometimes I would assume I got what someone meant but then she would ask a dumb question and the person we were talking to would clarify and the rest of us would realise that we were wrong. Her being utterly clueless made her a great addition to the team because she kind of viewed everything differently from others and her stupid sounding questions actually did make the rest of us think about things in a different light. Sometimes she would pick up on holes in people's stories and flaws in their logic by viewing it the way only she did. It's so easy for people to kind of assume a bunch of things and her dumb questions sometimes resulted in the group actually thinking about things we all just took for granted. Yeah she struggled a lot on her own but I remember her fondly and she did contribute in her own way. Also - like I said, these dumb girls often have cool abilities people don't notice that never get developed. I get not wanting your sibling to marry an idiot, but if you end up in a situation where you just have to accept that - people surprise you.

It's unrelated. Some traditionally smart people are very kind and compassionate. Some deeply ignorant/illogical people can be AHs too.
I had a history class in college where the professor made the students read the material, give lectures ourselves (one chapter per day per person), and then he'd issue the exams.
One day, I failed to read the material when it was my turn, so he asked me to go outside and read. After a while, he came out to check on me, and we had a conversation about knowledge.
He said if you're new at a topic, and you talk about it, that's called naive. Everyone gets a free pass, and we can't know everything. But, if you've been told you're naive and still keep talking like you know enough, that's ignorant. If you've been told you're ignorant and still keep talking, he calls that stupid.
In my life experiences since then, most folks I've met were not naive. I don't give them a free pass anymore. In fact, i dont argue anymore because it's not worth it: They aren't trying to understand.

To be fair, many pink lemonades are not made with food dyes but rather a blend of fruit juices. And there are red/pink citruses juices like grapefruits and blood oranges. That one, at least is a pretty logical belief based on most peoples knowledge of citrus.

There was a girl like this in one of my college geology classes. I remember one particular time in class when the professor explained some concept, asked if anyone had any questions, a student asked him to explain a specific part of the concept in more detail, because they didn't understand, he did so, and after he finished, this girl who was looking at him the entire time, said she didn't understand and asked him to explain the exact same thing he just got done explaining. The whole class just turned and looked at her.
Also, the girl's brother made the news one time for digging an unsupported tunnel into a sand bank with his friend and it collapsing on them, nearly suffocating his friend to death. I was not surprised to hear it was her brother.

I knew a girl that got a private tutor after getting 14 on the ACT. Her score didn’t change and her parents gave up on paying. Her mom told her that she wasn’t very smart but that she had other talents (in a loving but brutally honest way) and she knew it was true. One of the nicest people I have ever meant but very dumb.
Not everyone is academically inclined, and that's fine.
Intelligence isn't just limited to academia, that's something people mistakenly only equate it to. Sadly its thinking like this that causes people to miss out on opportunities to discover the thinks they are actually brilliant in.

The pink lemonade in the store isn't usually made from them but variegated pink lemons are an actual thing. They're only pink on the inside (the rind is striped green and yellow) and they're a little sweeter than regular lemons.

@ferretlord3990 But it's not delusional. He's been manipulating you and pretty much everybody else very successfully, which is why you didn't even realise it until he actually said it out loud. People like him have the mindset of a predator, and they never deal honestly with anybody. Don't ever forget that, and don't ever trust him. They also tend to get worse with age, so expect more trouble. I suggest you pay attention to how he functions, and learn the red flags for deception. It's very useful in life, because you will encounter others like him, and you'll be able to stay safe from them if you recognise them early on.

Been trying to cut her loose for years, but our families are friends. 😓

I did find out that she was exposed to lead paint as a toddler and that is why she comes across as unintelligent during long conversations but she learns. It was also her lack of exposure to so many things and being raised by a single parent that always worked multiple jobs.

In all fairness, pink lemonade originally came from pink FLESHED lemons (the skin is striped yellow and green variegation) although almost all is now just regular lemonade with a bit of dye.
the most plausible theories are actually originating from circuses! pink lemonade supposedly came from a circus worker running out of water and using dirty water that had a performers red/pink tights wrung out in. another story is from red cinnamon candies accidentally dropped in the water, but is said to be less likely than the sweaty tights water story, due to the timing of the claims.
