    a humble and honest man, who appreciates his life. Refreshing. Not rich, but not dirt poor , either. Remember how expensive new york is before you judge. Its Yours is an influential recording from 1984. Helped create Def Jam by Rick Rubin. T La Rock is a thankful man, who appreciates his roots.

    Why are so many people in the comment section concerned about how he's living. That big house, car and jewelry shit has folks screwed up about life. The man has a smile on his face showing you around his not cheap I'm sure NY apartment. He's sharing his collections and sharing a little about his life and all some of you can do is make comparisons to others and WHAT YOU THINK his life should be like. People are getting more dumbed down and shallow as time rolls on.

    It's depressing such a Hip Hop Legend living in such humble surroundings. For his impact on hip hop in Lyricism he should be living in the lap of luxury forever. Shame on you Russell Simmons, P-Diddy, Jay-Z, at least one of you could of at-least gave the man a job at Def Jam. This mans music made millions, but in those days all the money were stolen from the artists. There's no way if I had the power to change lives would I ever allow a Hip Hop Legend to live like that. I would do all I could to get this man job in the industry. Much Respect Tla Rock.

    • @maccagrabme
      @maccagrabme 10 лет назад +5

      The way I see things is that he is careful with money and lets not forget he has three properties in NY so I wouldn't say he is doing that bad at all. What is a bachelor going to do rattling around in a mansion, wasting thousands on upkeep for show?

      interestingly enough, you both make good points.

      The average humble Manhattan apartment like the one in this video costs about a million dollars and generally has about a thousand dollar per monce maintenance fee. not a bad lifestyle for someone who hadnt really worked on 20 years.

    Living Legend!!! I never get tired of this song. You took rap to another level by the ingenious way of compressing words and flow in space and time of 4 bars. I was like a non-lawyer reading a legal document and had to turn to my lawyer and say 'what this mean?'. Every word, syllable, flow, word count you used was so dope that dictionary sales probably went up that year! Legend!

    I loved his music before when i was a teenager and still love it today. Early rap with its mixing and scratching, and hard beats and percussions sounded so much cooler and funkier than today's rap. Rap started to go downhill when they stopped mixing and scratching and replaced with wack sounding female singers and weak rock type beats like in white music.and rap started to glorify black on black murder and violence and drugs etc etc. I miss old rap I cant stand to listen to th ed rap they play on the radio nowadays. Its sounds so ugly and stupid and its mostly all nonsense
