- Barboursville fire companies respond to a working structure fire inside the City of Barboursville in the morning hours of Sunday March 20th, 2022. First in companies had heavy smoke and flames showing and were met with high heat and zero visibility conditions inside the structure. An aggressive interior attack was implemented on arrival and the main body of fire was extinguished rapidly. Companies from Green Valley and Ohio River Road were on the assignment as well.
**NOTE** THIS VIDEO IS BEING USED FOR TRAINING PURPOSES ONLY
One minute: Deck gun engaged to reduce heat. Thirty seconds later transition to interior attack. Two minutes later visibility improves. 5min after arrival bulk of the fire is knocked down and water is used selectively to avoid excessive water damage. That's professional fire fighting! Awesome job! Other companies may look and learn.
When half the house is engulfed the last thing that would probably hurt it is water damage.
Ya completely drain your tank doing that with no water supply yet..
when you house is dang near fully involved i don't think your going to worry about water damage
over excessive water damage can hinder the fire investigation process, if everything’s beat up and washed out onto the front lawn there’s not much to investigate!
@@themrmilkythe investigation will still come to a conclusion. We fight fire aggressive to protect lives and property, this was a great knockdown. How long have YOU been fighting fire?
That helmet cam shows what it is REALLY like in a "zero visibility" interior attack !! Good Job!
Gives people a different perspective as to what we do.
@@fdMT_EnGy you guys have a brutal job and i would never fully understand what its like unless i was a firefighter myself. I am a commercial refrigeration technician by trade for almost a decade now. the only similarities is when it comes to supermarket refrigeration is the rotating on call. we get way more mandatory overtime than we know what to do with and i have ran 18, 24 and 40 hour straight shifts because we got slammed with calls during a Texas summers first hot snap, or during the first really cold spell in the winter. we get emergency calls too in all hours of the night. yes, the job like any mechanical trade has risks and safety concerns that i constantly discipline myself on. i train the same reason you guys do. to keep me safe and my co workers safe and the customers at the job sites safe as well. however the dangers of this job are pale in comparison. the end point, is working these brutal long hours in the extreme head and cold has gave me a appreciation for what you guys go through. we don't get much free time or time to see our friends or family. and its difficult to balance that and maintain relationships. anyhow keep on fighting fires and saving lives. i appreciate you.
@@theblackenedvoid3539 Thank you. I know exactly what you guys go through, it definitely sucks. My brother in-law does the same thing in VA. It's not a walk in the park. He works his *** off. Even just the driving alone, he puts in some serious mileage every day. Definitely an important job, a lot would not be able to happen were it not for your field. Thank you for that.
Great fire ground operations. Transitioning from deck gun ops, right into preconnected interior attack line ops flawlessly. Should make any fire department proud. Well trained an motivated crew. 👏 👏.
2 of the 3 making entry, this was their first job.
It was a Beautiful attack
I agree
Very good job “boys”!
@@tri-statefire768wow, well done!
Finally.... a video showing an FD putting water on the fire within a minute or two of arrival. Way to go Tri State Fire!!
For a second there I saw nothing but a black screen. Then it dawned on me I was watching a helmet cam. This is what our heroes see while they battle 1500F heat as they save lives and knock fire down. Thank you Lord for our first responders- both FFRs/medics and PD
As a retired career firefighter of 27 year, I just wanted to say that you all did an amazing job. Great transition.
My dads a fireman and I love videos like this, they let me get more of an insight into what he does, kickass video
Continue the tradition and become one yourself!
Kudos for using the deck gun for a short quick hit while the line crew got ready to advance. That is a great strategy that is way underutilized letting fires grow while crew prepare for attack. Nice job all the way around.
Excellent!!!!
This is one the best fire ground videos. It is also one of the best fire ground operations that I have seen in my 41 years career firefighter.
The combination deck gun to interior, you guys have got your stuff together!
Great job getting in there and getting the job done. We need more guys like you getting interior and to the seat of the fire
I respect the firefighters who always enter dangerous scenes first and come out last. Looking at the video in person, I learned more about how much firefighters are putting in effort. I will live with a grateful heart in my heart. Thank you!
The BEST helmet cam footage I've ever seen - show accurately what it's like on the tip - only thing missing is the heat. Great Job.
This is an awesome insight what it looks like going into a fire. It felt like I was there. I was waiting to trip over something. Thank you so much for posting this and great job!!
Of all the helmet cam videos I've seen, this is by far the best one. You guys did a solid job. That deck gun went in service fast, you stretched your line cleanly and efficiently, you were properly geared up, you guys got in there immediately and in a coordinated fashion, and were hitting fire the whole time. Even though there isn't any visibility, we can hear the steam conversion. Good job brother!
Absolutely! What model helmet cam?
This should be shown by every training academy. How to properly execute an interior attack. Very well done
Now this is how you freaking fight fire using that deck gun knocked down that heat inside and made it livable if someone was in there plus it made conditions better for interior crews. A wonderful attack and great communications between the inside crews working. Reminds me of my old crew and how we worked together like that. 30 years and finally retired from volunteer service. Miss it everyday it brings back so many memories especially watching videos like these.
That was a hell of a job making that push! Keeping the nozzle open, stream nice and tight while flowing and systematically working your way through! Strong work
HELL of a job brothers! I would definitely trust you to protect my house and my family. Keep the awesome work up. First thing I thought when I saw the worker was JAWBTOWNNN!
Excellent push!!! Great video as well. Great coordinated effort resulting in efficient and rapid extinguishment.
Training is everything, well trained and well done.
Now, this is the reality that you won't see in a movie or TV show 🤣
Good push gentleman! Love the enthusiasm your Chief has
Nice blitz attack with the deck gun to knock down the heavy stuff and get down and dirty. Good job, Strong work fella's
from a ff of over 28 years.. EXCELLENT video of what we see and hear!!
1:26 that handline went thru the door. That's quick. And the engineer was on it with the deck gun man, so much yes.
Goes to show you can be just as effective masking up at the door WITHOUT gloves on.
These guys seem to have put the reps in. Love it
Huge respect to all the firefighters around the world♡
Greetings from Türkiye Turkey
Nice to see FD not afraid to use a deck gun, interior attacks are fine, until their ready be aggressive!🤙🏻 nicely done boys!
Nice job! Good to see the deck gun in operation. Interior crew great job putting a knock on the seat of the fire. I think a fan or two should have be put in operation to clear the fire room and foyer out. But still job well done!!! Be proud boys! Be safe so we all go home when it done.
Now there’s a good fireman. Great job brother

Great job!!! Transitional attack is a very effective tactic that needs to be used much more in fire departments!
Bravo Zulu. Your initial hose stretch with a coupling flaked ready to make entry setup your entire success. Also a heads up play on the transitional attack. S.L.I.C.E.R.s expert level 9
One of the best videos I've seen so are. Loved seeing the deck gun used right away to help knock down the main part of fire while FF's where preparing to go in. Would have been perfect if the FF was already masked up and gloves on when he left the rig. Hose stretch was very fast, but it took another 45 seconds to a minutes after that to get mask and gloves on. Compared to what I've seen other departments go, this was excellent, a 9 out of 10 score.
I start my fire 1 for volunteer soon, excited to do interior work
Thanks for showing me what I have to do when I do interior, thanks again
Strong work!! Nice all around job.
Lol, the D/O is living his best life screaming in his head "beat you to it hose monkies!!!".
Awesome job in kicking that fire's butt so quick. Proud of you!!!
I don't know how much these guys get paid, but after seeing this, it ain't enough! True heroes, one and all.
This is a volunteer department. They don't get paid anything except free training.
Amazing work! I can only assume this crew does a lot of training together
One of the FEW youtube FF videos where guys aren't letting the house cook so they can get in and burn up their gear on the one fire they run a year. They put ego aside to hit it with the deck gun while guys got ready and did a great job. Really professional squared away guys in this video.
Great job guys. It made my day seeing that deck gun but it before you guys made entry.
They don’t call them Smoke Eaters for nothing !!
Holy crap thats how much they can see? Wow
As an exterior firefighter I have so much respect for our interior guys. They really are the most ballsy mfs out there!
U mean ur a coward
Amazing job boys, be safe out there!
Awesome use of hydraulic ventilation👌🏼
When you have all of your A-team players that day. Outstanding job by all ...
Good knock down, that was a quick deck gun attack
Excellent hose work and attack. Well done.
You guys are modern superheroes.
Well done, well done! Quick hit with some deck gun GPMs, then make an interior push. Textbook! 👏
Did they have a water supply? If not they just used 80% of the tank water and they haven’t even made entry yet
Miss those days when I was a volunteer firefighter for St.Helens Oregon for seventeen years now thing have changed
Very good in transitional attack. Great interior work. My only concern is the first member through the door didn't appear to sound the floor to check for stability. Just something to think about. Thanks for sharing.
Look where the fire presents, no sounding needed to be done because of location above garage.
ain't no song called F the fire department
Thick black
Smoke, that thing was cooking. Great job
Nice transition attack. The deck gun is so underutilized to help soften the fire and improve the environment.
These are the most badass men and women in the world 💪💪💪
Nice job guys 👍 be safe!
Very professional
Where is this?
Great work!
This guy is living proof not all firefighter are created equal 😂😂😂😂
Excellent video
Also, why did you pull the cross lay from the driver side instead of the passenger side?
Miscommunication between the company. The lays have 250’, so it ended up working just fine.
@@tri-statefire768 like I said, excellent work. I couldn’t tell where the other end was lol. Thanks for the response!
I was wondering that same thing. Not knocking on anybody, just curious.
I've got a question, can you live-stream with these cams or is it only video recording?
Imagine somting like 9/11 live on a firefigher cam
@@gmg6863dawg 😂
Only thing i question is how long front door was open and giving oxygen, creating a flow path?
I blew out all the candles on my birthday cake when I was 8.
Not sure if you had a crew go in behind the hose team but I normally grab the TIC off of whatever I was riding and clip it to my coat. It comes in handy if you can’t see anything you just have the back up guy use the tic and warn you if there is a large obstacle ahead. Or look for possible patients.
Great job guys.
Hell yes. Awesome knock down stay safe brothers
Fog pattern works better than a stream,
How many units responded I thing I saw engine 206 and another engine
What camera do you use? Picture quality is awesome.
I believe that one is the firecam 1080. I was not on this one.
What helmet cam is being used in these videos?
Great respect!
Nice work men
Nice job!!
great job coordinated fire attack
Great job!
Kooky fire
Nice Job 💯💯
Excellent tactics
Where are you?😢
Great job brothers
What camera is this I’m trying to find one
Nice work by the crew. You can tell they have been trained well.
I just really don't understand rolling up to a working fire and not being packed out ready to go in the front door as soon as the crosslay is put on the ground.
I don’t understand the rush and risk to the fireman’s life to “quickly” extinguish a fire that has already destroyed a piece of crap house completely….there is nothing salvageable there… why take the risk….ps granted I know nothing about fire fighting…. I just can’t see what was there worth saving…
@bbuchanan81 I’ve always been told not to so you wouldn’t get tunnel vision as a pack guy. Have a pack on but keep masks off until last minute so you can also observe the scene for any hazards as you roll up. Not quite a “360” but at least your own size up, instead of being masked up and missing something cause you’re focused on the fire only.
This fire was a 30 second ride from the station. They barely had time to get their seat belts on.
It's a matter of policy as far as arriving masked up or not. Some departments feel the firefighters having a full unrestricted view as they walk up enebles them to get a good size up. Masking should only take only a few seconds, and it is a drill I know many departments frequently practice alot.
God bless stay safe God loves y’all all I hope everyone has a blessed day and great day 🙏✝️🙏✝️
Talk about a fast ✊ down heck yeah!.
What was the interior ceiling temperature?
When they say 0 visibility they mean it.
Brave men and woman who run head on towards fire without hesitation! Much respect for all fire fighters who not only put fires out but save lives. God bless the men and woman and keep them safe Lord as they save lives each and every day. In Jesus Christ Name Amen. 🙏❤️❤️❤️🙏👨🏻🚒🧑🏻🚒👩🏻🚒
Ur lying
Do a ride along with the new engine
Great attack from the start to finish. If I was with your dept we would be having a good dinner after that.
Apparently all that cleaning for nothing
I do enjoy professionals doing an interior attack I must admit.
Rescue company 2 ride along? Soon
Rescue 2 ride? Please
I’d live there. Great attack
