Labneh balls were my favorite go to lunch treat when I lived in Saudi Arabia. I would buy some in olive oil and nigella seeds from the supermarket and have them for lunch in my sprout salads. Perfection!! I'll make them myself now that I'm back in the States..
I love your channel so much! I began to take an interest in arabic food after I got my Arab man ♥ so I could cook for him what he loves in the future :) I enjoy every new video even without cooking. The background and all the stuff you use for cooking look so nice. And exlanations are very clear. I hope in the future I will try to cook all the dishes from your videos :) Thank you and continue please ♥
thank you so much for nice words, it is so nice to surprise your loved one! if you try any dish, share your result, would be happy to see it🌹 If you have any question during cooking dont hesitate to ask!
Thank you for this video! I tried Labneh balls randomly one time and LOVED them (but they were so expensive!). Yours is the best video for this! Yummm!
Hi, Glad it was helpful! once you decide to make labneh balls, make sure to refrigerate them if the weather is too hot and sure to drain the laban (yogurt) well. easy and taste :)
When making yogurt cheese, after my final press I just refrigerate in the covered container - No Olive Oil and it keeps several days. I would think it could be the same when rolled into balls, with no olive oil and just stored in a container in the fridge. However, I do think for long time storage a jar of olive would be best and necessary. Please advise! I do plan to roll them in chopped herbs before storing them. Thankyou🤗
Hi Dolma! Do you strain the yogurt at room temperature or in the refrigerator? I want ti try making this for the first time...ready made is kind of expensive...I love having this for breakfast on flat bread with tomatoes, za'atar and arugula...it's like morning heaven...
Hi, yes better to strain in the fridge under some press, and more you strain the liquid out, more better and richer taste will be. Even if you strain for 2-3 days will be amazing! Ask if you have more questions :)
@@DolmaRecipes how long we can save those balls in oil? If we can store balls in oil then will we be going to store these in fridge or out side of the fridge? Please please please reply. Thank you.
Question I recently visited a village market and they were selling egg plant in olive oil with walnuts would you by chance know how to make it and the name of it
hi Irene, yes sure the pickled eggplant in olive oil with walnuts and usually some chili pepper called maqdous. The eggplants really small size. the recipe I will send you a little later
Thank you for sharing. I’ve strained my yogurt for 5 days and it’s still not dry…still kind of creamy. I used a cheese cloth, changed it to a thinner cloth after 2 days. I had it hanging for 48 hours then I put it in the fridge with weight on top. What am I doing wrong?
hi. usually more fatty yoghurt you use more fast the yoghurt will drain. Put under the heavy weight and keep in the fridge. Let me know how it worked out!
Hi Noor, so happy you gonna try this recipe! I have a good memories for Kuwait, been living there ) so about cheese cloth, first of all you can get a look in big carrefour in avenues or in Tavola store ( everything for kitchen) or you can just take a new cotton kitchen towel from Ikea and use it. not a big difference to be honest!
hi dear, it is a good question and let me tell you by my experience. If you have one kind of herb like zaatar for example you can coat labneh balls and then cover with olive oil. but if you want to use few different kind of herbs in one jar, it will look beautiful but taste will be mixed inside.

Ramadan Kareem! thats sound sooo good, one of the perfect breakfasts for me, also add to a labneh extra zaatar or maqdous ( marinated tiny eggplants)

In India it's rasgulla 🤘👍
No, it's different
🥰🥰
I forgot to add salt before draining. Can it be added after?
А если обычный йогурт 3% жирности ,получится ?
Получится конечно главное что бы был плотный йогурт ввиде греческого
❤
Nada merhy
