The entire album that this song is from is an absolute MASTERPIECE, definitely listen to In The Court Of The Dragon and The Shadow Of The Abbatoir by these guys. I love most of Trivium’s discography and their drummer is NUTS. Matt Heafy plays guitar while he sings live, so much skill. He can solo while singing too.
Shogun really not for everyone. Their new stuff are much more engaging and easy to listen, while Shogun is for older fans I guess. I have tried listening to the album and it's probably one of my least favourite Trivium albums up date. It has the weakest opener of all time imo. For such a popular song Kitsure Gomen is supposed to be an amazing song, but it wasn't...maybe because I had really high expectations I couldn't truly enjoy the album, but overall tye only older albums by them that I like are In Waves and Ascendancy
Fall into your hands has to be my favourite one recently. The whole song is amazing, the chorus is absolutely beautiful and that closing melody in tye end is just 100/10!!
When I first discovered the band my favourite album is What the dead men say, then it became The sin and the sentence, then What the dead men say and now is both In the court of the dragon, What the dead men say and The sin and the sentence, can't go wrong with neither of those 3!
Kyle my brother, I encourage you to go back and check out their catalog. These guys have done nothing but get better and better over the years. I’ve been a fan for a long time. Their albums have never been the same thing as the last and it’s always (minus one album) been for the best in my opinion. This lineup you’re watching here is there best by far. They’ve been through several drummers and these four right here make the best version of Trivium. Looking forward to seeing you guys do more Trivium. Especially from this collection with the Phalanx
11:37 "i don't know if they get heavier or lighter" the answer is yes they do. They can do both effortlessly but this is actually a pretty good measure of their middle range
HELL YEAH! I listen Trivium for about... 10 years now. They are my number one favourite band - however Sleep Token really really came close to them :D - and they never ever released a bad single for me. They are really really talented, and Trivium is one of the band that always kept their own style but able to renew in every release. You should do "Shogun" from them, it is an 8 minute song, but you can see what was their middle ... "phase" of musicmanship. My other favourite from this particular album is "The shadow of the Abattoir" you should give it a go even offline! The clip is pretty much Elder Scrolls Online cinematic trailer for one of its DLC, i think Zenimax hired them for making a promo clip :D
Hell yeah, Trivium! One of the bands that got me into metal! Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr is a classic song from them, but I personally love the In Waves album, that has In Waves, Black, and Watch The World Burn. They're all so catchy! For the newer stuff, that really shows how much they've evolved as a band, check The Sin And The Sentence, What The Dead Men Say, and In The Court Of The Dragon. 👌
Before even watching I can say their new album is fantastic. Going to see them live next month with Amon Amarth... Trivium are so good I'm going alone so I don't miss out 😅
I've been waiting a entire year for this, this is exciting yay!!! Thank you for the reaction. So I think I found Eric's medium on metal. And I'm happy Kyle got to relive a amazing trivium song. You guys started this channel as a gamers right? It was mentioned in your falling in reverse reaction to voices in my head after Ronnie watched you guys. Right? Paying attention to detail and picked stuff out so I took trivium and the phalanx to see. So elder scrolls online game and trivium a perfect mix I think. Now what I mean by Eric's medium is it feels like he's like me where I like my screams but I also like my melodic singing but I need the right mixture of both. Trivium is that to me. I used to think trivium is the new age Metallica they did a cover of master of puppets that's really done well it's way older but it still slaps. Thank you for the reaction fellas, it only took $20 and lots of patience 🤣😂😂😂. Stay classy! I throw another song up in a few. Thank you guys!!
Trivium is criminally under appreciated. I’ve been a huge fan since 2005 and they’ve just been one of my absolute favorite bands. That being said, everyone’s going to recommend their more popular tracks. Down From The Sky, In Waves, TSATS etc… However, I’d recommend some of their less popular tracks like The Decieved, He Who Spawned The Furies, Shattering The Skies Above, Pillars Of Serpents(2017 version), The Defiant, Shadow Of The Abattoir and Implore The Darken Sky which is a Heaven Shall Burn cover.
Awesome to see you guys get into Trivium! I've been listening to these guys since 2005 when they put out their Ascendancy album and they are just excellent time and time again. Another great band you should check out is Orbit Culture.
trivium became my fav band since i discover them, around 2008 when shogun was about to be released. I just watched them live at 2022 and i can't describe what i felt dude
Opening instrumentals definitely had shades of Metallica but then they went off and did their own thing. This was nice and I thoroughly enjoyed the instrumentals and guitar solos. Even the change ups on the vocals were pretty awesome.
Matt Heafy was originally just a guitarist, in the early days their vocalist left, so Matt jumped in to sing, he had never sang before let alone screamed. So his evolution has come a long way, and also for the last 3 albums they had a new drummer named Alex Bent. Anything from the albums, The Sin and the Sentence, What The Dead Men Say and In The Court Of The Dragon (where this song is from) ARE ABSOLUTELY MAGICAL There early stuff is also great, but this kind of sound and production is more the last 2 albums honestly, Trivium = 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥
yeah, Matt plays his signature Epiphone on tour and even records with it. He was disappointed in how many guitar heroes' signatures were really unaffordable to most of their fans and wanted his to be more reasonably priced. It's high quality in terms of performance, but left out much of the exotic materials. Epiphone was a natural partner for this. And being a Trivium fan is easy and hard at the same time. They're all hard working and talented guys. They very much put out albums full of music that the were feeling at the time, which means they're led by their vastly varying influences. They can put out an album that one particular fan LOVES, and then follow it up with one that the same fan just isn't feelin'. They've done everything from thrash, groove, melodic death, black, metalcore, prog metal...you name it. Not many of their fans are just so-so about any particular track. They either straight up LOVE it, or are just like, eh...next.
Out of this album the best song is Fall into your hands! Nobody talks about it, but the song is just insane! Great vocals, the best Trivium chorus of all time and the insane melodic ending is just the cherry on top!
Alex Bent joined in 2017 and everything changed, I would start with their last three albums and then I would go back to OG Trivium with Travis on drums, Ascendancy, Shogun, Ember To Inferno, and The Crusade, probably in that order. They went through a weird funk after Travis left, 3 albums and 3 different drummers, In Waves is a solid record, Vengeance Falls and Silence In The Snow were kinda weird offerings, not their best work but both have a few solid offerings, Until The World Goes Cold is a fantastic song, there's a solid path.
This song has gameplay from Elder Scrolls Online in it. Matt Heafy did some music for the game so they put it in this video. The four armed dude is Mehrunes Dagon. He is a daedric prince who keeps trying to destroy Nirn.
You guys need more Trivium reactions!!! This one is a slow grower but I promise you'll like more of them. With so many subs now it's hard to get a clear patreon win. Beyond oblivion is a good one, shadow of abbatior, sin and the sentence, down from the sky (which got me hooked in them years ago). Plenty of good options. Just scroll the comments and you'll see many more and with lots of Trivium fans.
They were heavily influenced by Metallica when they were younger I think Matt heafy their lead singer looked up to james hetfield that’s why he sings and plays guitar
Should listen to their Crusade album they get back to the metal era with no screaming just great riffs and solos, but a great band to see live and rock out to
Guys I really love your reactions, kinda new here but I'm starting to become a fan. From Trivium specifically I'd like to see your reaction of Silence in The Snow, Shadow of the Abattoir, In Waves, Strife, Catastrophist or Until the World Goes Cold. Hope you can get to these ones eventually, you guys are A W E S O M E!!!
Their hook song for me was "strife" watched that video then checked out all their songs... and yeah you gotta go through their stuff to pick and choose... lotsa metal bands like that out there... really pretty much all of em... if they have lotsa albums, usually theres more... it's so worth it, at least for me.
The songs thT hooked me were Watch the world burn, In waves and Catastrophist. I found all of them in a one minute long "Trivium songs be like" meme videos... Thank to the meme lords for discovering the band!
Ah ah you checked Trivium. Really good. I listened to all their discography recently, every album almost five to ten times. This is really good. There's only their "no harsh voice" album which is not awesome (strange mix on guitars). Otherwise, everything is really good. Check more from them. They are a really really good band. Thanks guys for your reaction. Take care!
To answer the questions, they do get both heavier and lighter. In The Court of the Dragon was their penultimate album, so far. “Sword Over Damocles”, “A Crisis of Revelation”, the amazing “The Shadow of the Abattoir”, complete with a cinema quality video, “Feast of Fire”, the hole album is full of bangers that bring one back to Ascendancy, while breaking new ground. Part of their foray into their next level is from drummer Alex Bent, who is next level.
It is indeed their most experimental and all over the place album. Really really fun to listen, the only thing is that idl if it's just me, but sometimes when I listen to it I'm like "is that even Trivium?!" It's not really their usual sound, but I live the way this album sounds and it's perfect the way it is, but I still prefer What the dead men say. Both albums blend together quite well. They're like pt1 and pt2! Kinda like Ascendancy and The Crusade. Both pairs released year after the previous and both really well fitting.
Trivium is the people’s band. Theres at least one song out there for everybody. I highly recommend checking out The Sin And The Sentence, What The Dead Men Say, In The Court Of The Dragon for as much as you enjoyed The Phalanx, but I always recommend people listen to Shogun, Kirisute Gomen, Strife, In Waves, Pull Harder On The Strings of your Martyr, Throes Of Perdition, or Down From The Sky.
For something different, you can watch the drummers playthrough videos. His channel is just his name, Alex Bent, and (off the top of my head) he has done a playthrough of Betrayer and Beyond Oblivion (around 5 years ago). You can still hear the track so it's not just drums. He's partly the reason why you might like the newer stuff as he has only been with them for a few albums. They have had multiple drummers in the past, who were OK, but none were on the level of Alex.
It’s funny that you guys mentioned how they have a Metallica cause on one of the earlier albums they covered master of puppets and they really sounded like Metallica check that one out.
The cover was better than the original lol! It had that extra heaviness I was missing in the original. They've really taken a timeless masterpiece and made it better...yet they're still quite underrated overall
IMO listen to the second album. That has some very aggressive guitar, and drums on it. only listen to Entrance of the Conflagration on the third album. Listen to all of shogun. Don't worry about Silence in the Snow or In Waves. Listen to all albums after those.
Trivium is an all time favorite. however the thing with them is they change metal genre every album and try new things so i can understand hearing them and not liking them then hearing them again and changing your opinion.
Their last 3 albums have all been fantastic.
They’re just fantastic
3?
See That's what happens when you add Alex Bent
10*
@@ThePoliticalMooseSolo albums, but, The Sin and The Sentence, What the dead man says and In The Court of tje dragon were amazing!
Trivium is so good! There are so many great songs you could do. Matt Heafy's voice has gotten so good. he is one of the best singers out there.
Shogun is their absolute best song its 12 minutes long but its a masterpiece and the shadow of the abattoir is another must listen
This song was actually supposed to be on shogun if you didn't know that
Shogun really not for everyone. Their new stuff are much more engaging and easy to listen, while Shogun is for older fans I guess. @yeetosis9097 I never knew that. It would go perfect though! It's got that epic vibe like Shogun, scyllia etc.
Shadow of the Abattoir, The Sin and the Sentence, Shogun, and Amongst the Shadows and the Stones are definitely a must-listen!
honestly shoguns kinda mid compared to kirisute gomen so
@@Jeshky2004 Both songs are incredible, but Shogun is their magnum opus. Shogun the album is 10/10 though.
Not sure why Shadow gets so much love, it's a largely forgettable song for me, Feast is miles better
Fall into your hands has to be my favourite one recently. The whole song is amazing, the chorus is absolutely beautiful and that closing melody in tye end is just 100/10!!
@@nateseese6904idk I didn't like it this much. Its like 8th place in my Trivium albums list
"The sin and the sentence", the ENTIRE album. So good!
True! One of my top 3 Trivium albums the best song from there definitely Betrayer!
I love everything about Trivium! They just keep getting better and better
The Sin and the Sentence is a must!
100%. IMO their best album overall.
For me that is album for every ocasion :D

They are good live. Saw them with Megadeth, Lamb of God and Hatebreed two summers ago. Great reaction guys!!
I bet that was a bad ass show it come through Knoxville and I missed it
100% have to check out their masterpiece shogun its a bit older and is with their old drummer. Not enough people have done a reaction for it.
Trivium has been one of my favorite bands since I first heard them 20 years ago!

You can thank Alex Bent(drummer on the last 3 albums). He allowed them to level up to their true talent. Now they can do anything and everything
Hell yeah, Trivium! One of the bands that got me into metal! Would highly recommend The Sin and the Sentence from them, one of my favorites for sure
You need to hear In Waves by Trivium!
The Phalanx & The Shadow of the Abatoir become my Trivium's fav songs lately
My 2 favs off the new album. Proper bangers!
Same, I'd also add Fall into your hands
Need more Trivium on the channel. These guys are amazing.

Also Sickness unto you.

Yea, at first I was, like, thinking of Avenged Sevenfold, and Metallica vibes, then I realized that it definitely was that
ones of the only bands i can shuffle every album and not skip a song
More Trivium please ! Always liked them but they have been incredibly consistent in these last few years
In Waves and Vengeance Falls are such underrated records 🔥
The riff are enormous and the choruses are beautiful lol
They are recording this in a hangar in Florida....yes very hot lmfao

What's cool about this song is they made this song for The elder scrolls online they basically made the song around the lore inside the game
Trivium, Thrash, core, death (HC) they have so many good songs =)
The crusade is instrumental and really showcase thier talent its something you will be amazed by the timing and dexterity
The crusade sounds like a Metallica ripp off, but god damn was it good! Not really their peak, but definitely something worth a trial!
The Sin and The Sentence
Met these guys. They are super nice as well!
They were heavily influenced by Metallica when they were younger I think Matt heafy their lead singer looked up to james hetfield that’s why he sings and plays guitar
In The Crusade he sounds exactly like Young James! It's crazy
fun fact, matt, corey and paolo started trivium when they were 13...yup... also they are super nice guys
Should listen to their Crusade album they get back to the metal era with no screaming just great riffs and solos, but a great band to see live and rock out to
Love this group, they have great music.
You guys must...must react to this album in full. In the Court of the Dragon is amazing from start to finish. Every single track is 10/10.
the video is shot in an airplane hanger that they own. i heard it also has a recording studio inside as well as their practice areaa
Guys I really love your reactions, kinda new here but I'm starting to become a fan.

Please do BEYOND OBLIVION!! Trivium 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Down from the sky is a must absolute must
Great song, not the first song I would've told u to react to. Sin and the Sentence, Into the Court of the Dragon, Catastrophist, many other bangers
Ah ah you checked Trivium. Really good.
I listened to all their discography recently, every album almost five to ten times. This is really good. There's only their "no harsh voice" album which is not awesome (strange mix on guitars). Otherwise, everything is really good.

TO THE RABBIT HOLE!!!! Do In Waves please, it’s my favorite by them
This song is from the Crusade era but never got finished for that album. Paulo brought it back into the fold when it was time.
The 3 songs you guys would like the most imo are:
The Sin and the Sentence
Forsake Not the Dream
Anything off the Shogun album lol
Btw matt was big dimebag darrell fan one of his big influences
Try Shogun .. it's their best song for me... epic long and really awesome
You need to listen to the sin and the sentence from trivium Alex bent kills the drums awesome song 🙌
It's funny your faces this band is so underrated

Alex is what Travis was minus the personal issues he was facing outside. Alex is just tuned in and focused that he looks bored doing anything lol.
Matts signature guitar is an epiphone
Trivium!!! You need to do the Heart from your Hate next!
I really enjoy their song feast of fire
Morrrre Trivium! You almost can't go wrong with them
Alex Bent leveled them up so hard!
Check Entrance of the Conflagration from them
Trivium is a lifestyle
Check out Shogun the last track on the album. It will blow your mind. ✌️
Yes!!! Paolo is the best bass player in the Metalcore scene!
IMO listen to the second album. That has some very aggressive guitar, and drums on it. only listen to Entrance of the Conflagration on the third album. Listen to all of shogun. Don't worry about Silence in the Snow or In Waves. Listen to all albums after those.
You have to do the shadow of the abattoir
Maybe some older song with A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation
Yall should do Kirisute Gomen next!
Trivium is an all time favorite. however the thing with them is they change metal genre every album and try new things so i can understand hearing them and not liking them then hearing them again and changing your opinion.
Beyond oblivion
matt heafy is a GOAT
Shogun. Nuff said.
Try their built to fall
They're god of metal
It reminds me of old Metallica
Shogun next by Trivium please 🙏🏻
the list is long of song to do next . never mind the analytics just do them we will watch.
React to lost by Linkin park! Was a lost part of the meteora album and is one of if not the last recorded song to be released with Chester!
His voice near the end reminded me of Disturbed.
Matt used to have singing lessons from David Draiman.
