It's interesting to see our real world guns given the Sc-fi overhaul design. These redesigns look more like a evolution of our modern guns. Giving these guns a more sleek, clean, yet simple and efficient designs. They also might also give them a magnetic acceleration barrel chamber for making bullets travel faster and likely penetrate flesh and armor.
too much penetration is bad too since a bullet would do more damage if it stayed inside the body and expanded like what hollow point rounds are designed for but ı don't really know how physical catridges effect covenant personal shields so can't ay much about that.
personally, for the Mac-10 redesign, i would've added a foldable stock since the recoil of the compact would be somewhat incredibly high. the stock would be something similar to the M7 or M20 SMG
I have only seen 2 examples both of which I had to pause the episode to make out with weapon it use under all the added greeblys. I never would have noticed they were "modern" weapons if people didn't keep complaining for some reason. Now what pisses me off is the fact that they blatantly used an unpainted plasma pistol prop

I didn't mind the modern weapons since they depicted them as ineffective compared to UNSC weapons against the Covenant and the rebels used them is the equivalent of seeing ww2 era weapons today in rebel groups.
Video suggestions: Reskin Covenant weapons to look like UNSC tech, and vice versa ...or... Design a few weapons with UNSC and Covenant design styles blended together.
Seeing the MP40 Halofied made me just grin. It was fantastic! It honestly makes me want to see more WW2 era weapons Halofied. I know Star Wars used a lot of those weapons and made them seem futuristic, but I feel them being Halofied would be great to see.
Desgin wise. they are great. But I feel like the lore could use some work but that's mainly in regard to the choice of weapons. AUG and Mangium were good choices to 'modrenize' in the halo setting. but everything seemed question due their Actual real life manufacturing desgins, operations, and, most importantly, their useage Doctrine. Why these guns were made in the first place.
I think they would make more sense as weapons that were updated, and mass produced by insurrectionists. But the updated mp40 seems like something a civilian would have incase of an emergency.
@@mj3541 Weirdly enough, i'd think AK would be in the same boat as the mp40 and most other ww2 era weapons. especially since weapon maintenance is kinda nonexistent in Halo. That said, it would make more sense for colonist to have things like the Sten guns and Uzis as they are some of the most basic/bare bones guns that we can mass produce.
I would say the Magnum is easily the best of this particular go-around. The AK is a close second, but that's simply because I kind of miss the more distinctive contrast between the wood and steel in the classic design.
I'd love to see the FN2000, M1911, M16, M4, and AR-15 get the Halo treatment lol. I could see them being used in Earth Planetary Defense Forces (Not much in the Outer Colonies as such weapons are generally less reliable in harsh alien wildlife conditions than the AK-47).
I love it. The show seriously needs to start hiring you for their prop art, I think it would greatly improve the look of the show. Also, I would love to see more Halofying modern day weaponry. You sir, have impressed me yet again.
While I agree some look outdated, the US military still uses the same hmg that was put into service in 1933 and will most likely be used well into the future. 200 years is quite a long time though.
While the redesign of the AUG looks very good as a Halo weapon, I personally feel like it lost it's original charm. Especially with the removal of the integral optic. It feels more like the DMR's cooler brother. It's definitely a very cool design, I just don't think it holds up to the original simple and hot design of the AUG.
Still I think it holds the Identity better then the modern A3 variant of the Aug with its flat top. But I kinda see what you mean more with the foregrip being more towards the gun body then the barrel since on the actual aug that grip is apart of the barrel and allows for torque to quick change the barrel in combat.
@@Jiffedup Well, maybe the flat top, but an A3 with the integral optic is undeniably more AUG than the redesign, even if the picatinny rail is hella ugly.
Would've love to have seen these types of weapons in the Halo TV show specifically the AUG & AK design. 500 years into the future there definitely is more different weapons than the ones we see in the game, or at least their updated counterparts. The lore stuff behind the weapon designs sound really interesting & realistic to the Halo universe. Great takes on it & I love it 😁. But I would've also loved to have seen a Halofied take on the M16 or the more modern & known M4 Carbine
Even in a future were radically different weapons tech ends up taking over from good old primer, propellant and bullet I have no doubt "modern reproductions" of current day guns will be available and possibly even popular. Especially if one considers the potential of 3D printing a couple centuries from now.
SO for the first gun you did the AUG. That front foregrip on the original is integral to the barrel and is what allows for leverage to twist the barrel fore it's quick change design. This was included on the first version both to prolong the life of each rifle as well as allow the the heavy automatic rifle variant (which replaces a SAW or light machine gun) to quick change barrels to keep up rate of fire and if necessary switch out with any of the normal infantryman in the squad allowing for them to keep firing. It was kept as it also has the benefit if allowing any aug to take the heavy barrels to become a sort of designated marksmen rifle or allow for later augs (A3) to switch to the pistol caliber sub machine gun in the field with a barrel and bolt change since the a3 variant has an adapter for pistol mags. Which is easier to suppress and still kinda had a role for airborne troops and can be used by Austrian and other European police forces. Because of this I doubt a future design would allow for a switch up of that grip as the torque is needed for that barrel change. THE A3 version also has a flat top with pic rail for optics but your BR carry rail is still amazing. Other then that your redesign was and is amazing. SORRY FOR GUN NERDINESS. Now your AK.... I love how you made it and built it and as much as I kinda hate seeing it in the configuration it is in in the HALO TV show... I can't deny that if any semi modern weapon makes it 500 years into the future it would be the AK and it would be similar to YOUR DESIGN. But your version while it leaves somethings to be desired (since a more modern AK 12/15 made other changes likes a straight gas tube) it still captures both AK and Halo and is amazing. My one real point of grief is the mag. That banana mag as good as it looks it not wide enough for 7.62x51. z (or if we say it is that receiver is huge to the point it would still look overly big in a Spartans hands.) For that magazine I would look at a PSL MAG ( Elongated AK IN 7.62x54R) or a Dragonov MAG (looks like ak but has different gas system. and also in 7.62x54R) and then just make those semi curved mags longer (both only hold 10 rounds normally) as they'd still be banana mags at 30 round capacity. Beyond those Minor gripes from a Gun nerd I love your designs and when I can afford it will give to your patreon for input/ encouragement as you deserve it dude. I originally came from your video about grunts like 2 ish years ago and have followed sparingly since but love your vide.
As a gun guy, the only thing wrong has to do with the AK. I like that Lore decided to go with the standard military cartridge for the UNSC, that being the 7.62x51mm round, but the design does not fit this chambering. The AK’s standard banana mag is too small for the larger round, and it’s shape actually stems from the real life 7.62x39mm that the original Kalashnikov uses. The actual manufacturer of the AK Kalashnikov Concern does make a AK chambered in 7.62x51 called the AK-308, and the magazine there is a lot larger, and wider, and would have fit this design better for the lore it has.
You should make some art for the less known vehicles, like the grave-maker or griever fighter-bomber (or even make new vehicles!) Edit: just learned about the brute razor tank. You could do that one too!
Is it me or did he just create the arsenal of the Insurrectionist, lol, I love it because an Insurrectionist group would be equipped like that to include a revolver type rifle, do some more
You could have easily just made the AK use 9.5x40 mm cartridge which is normally used in the halo battle rifle. ( technically speaking it would be much closer in comparison with the ammo normally used in an AS VAL) Using the 7.62x51 would mean that you would need to make the magazine a lot wider. (Think ww2 bren mags in 303 British)
I feel like you went a bit overboard with the Halo bits glued to the Kalashnikov. The gas block being made to look like a BR carry handle and the dust cover made to look like the top of the Ma5 is a bit overkill imo.
Yeah. I didn't feel like the AK design worked. It reminded me of typical lazy sci-fi designs where you take something modern and slap a bunch of little nonfunctional angular pieces on it and call it futuristic, while the original form is still very much visible.
As far as game play is concerned, I think you're magnum design would be a good way to bring a spiritual successor to the Halo CE magnum. most likely with a 2 tap or may even a 1 tap head shot against most enemies even keeping the 1 tap to hunters from behind. It should go without saying but, in universe to distinguish between the magnums I believe people would refer to the revolver as The Big Iron.
These were awesome thanks Wern! For Part 2 please can we have a FAL/G3 type weapon, an LMG type belt fed and an MP5? Perhaps a Halo Bolt Action Sniper in 6.5 creedmoor or something smaller than 14.5mm?
@@baker90338 Disagree strongly! DMR is its own thing though irl right now. It doesn't bridge the gap between Sniper and AMR which I would argue the "sniper rifle" is. The calibre alone make it an AMR and not a Sniper Rifle. You would have to argue that marine sniper would want something smaller (and LIGHTER) to lug around than S2 but also packs more punch and with more range than the DMR. Something in .338 lapua or 6.5 CM
Ngl I think the magnum looks a little more like Destiny than Halo (still great tho), but all the other weapons were PERFECT! MP40 was definitely my favorite design by far, I'm actually upset now we don't have it in game lol
Sturmgewehr 44, HK M416, Gepard GM6 Lynx, Desert Eagle, Danuvia 43M, MP5, MP7, P90, SVD Dragunov i would like these, as they all great weapons on their own
The Halo-ified AUG looks like a civilian version of the BR-55, similar to the real world G36 and one of its civilian models: The H&K SL8. Great work on this one. Modern military forces aren't seen using .357 revolvers due to their limited capacity and comparatively outdated cartridge, it would be difficult to believe the UNSC would accept a nearly 600+ year old weapon design. Then there's the problem involving other Halo rail guns/gauss weaponry: they are far larger than a measly hand cannon. A WW2-era SMG and a late 20th century SMG? The idea that the UNSC/Colonial Forces would accept open bolt submachine guns feels absurd. I think the design for colonial defense weapons should've been inspired from more modern weapons, such as the MP7 or the Kriss Vector. "...to the M6 series sidearm, which can injure the user without proper training." True for almost any weapon, utterly redundant here. I have no strong opinion on the AK, its design doesn't fit into Halo despite the elements borrowed from other weaponry. A mixed bag this video, honestly.
Open bolt sub guns would make sense if you have zero expectations of getting them back or their owners surviving past the first battle. Assuming it’s using the halo equivalent of stamped sheet metal, it’s one of those “slap a receiver in a tube and call it a day” kind of gun. I feel like using MP7s or Vektors as a base would bring it a little too close to just modern era weapons. Also I’m assuming the moderate training thing is because of the Magnums frankly ludicrous caliber for a sidearm. Probably easier to handle 9mil in a pocket SMG than beefed up .50 AE
All of these looked really great. The AUG fits really well in the Halo weapon style with bulpup rifles, while mt personal favorite is the AK one. Could you perhaps do more? Like the M4 MP5 and P90?
At first I was wondering why he went with the AUG instead of the FAMAS, but I guess a Halo-fied FAMAS would look almost exactly like the battle rifle. The designs for the MP40 and revolver are cool, but I feel like they look a bit more like Titanfall than Halo
To be honest and as a new fan (really because of this vid), the Halofied Mp-40 looks like something the Insurrection would use as a "hand-me-down" kind of weapon.
Honestly props to you for making em look better than what Paramount regurgitated. It's a really cool idea but canonically civilians use things like DMR's, Shotguns, Magnums, and even some MA series rifles. The Inusurrectists use this as well with the added bonus to the precursor to the 6.5 rifle from Infinite and captured modern UNSC hardware. I am really happy that 343 declared this show not canon, cause there were alot of unnecessary changes to the show to try and make it it's own universe instead of just trying to imagine the universes of those new armors they added to the other games.
Honestly, the very fact that ALL of these weapons not only fit in nearly perfectly with the Halo universe is a downright astonishment. Both the MAC-10 and the Magnum are my favorites out of the lot, but i love absolutely every single one of them. These are really fantastic and good designs that hold a very "rugged" flavor that fits the profile/bill of the Insurrectionists or just backwater colonies in general. If anything we need MORE of these because they just add that missing bit of flavor to the whole of Halo lore/cannon that has kinda been needed. Just absolutely well done. (it also kinda helps that all of these designs "clowns" on anything the Halo show has put together so hard that it's not even funny)
Funny how the Halo AK 47 looks kinda like a Finnish RK 62 assault rifle which actually is a modernized AK 47. As a owner of AK 47 and RK 62 they are super similar guns with same type of ammo. I also have some Swedish guns like the AK4 which is a HK G3 Swedish redesign.
I want to say that I actually really like all of them. Though I only see four out of the five in Halo. As much as I love the design you've made for the Magnum, I just don't see it in Halo, but rather Destiny. I know Destiny has probably ruined how I see futuristic magnum with all their handcannons. But I still love it. The AK, is just perfect and still has that iconic design. The AUG captured that look from the DMR and Battle Rifle, while still gaining it's own identity. The Mac-10, I have to see is probably the weakest design for me, only because I think the actual Mac-10 is just a really boring weapon for me in general. But my God.... that MP-40, I'm honestly torn between that and AK. Kind of reminds me of the assault rifle from Titanfall with its tilted magazine and extendable stock. Really amazing work.
I feel like “due to the historical implications with the weapon being a reminder of humanities previous darkest time” was a bad choice to be tacked onto a weapon used by the nazis, as an Easter egg for hope against the covenant’s genocide 💀

It was interesting to see how real world weapons would look in Halo. But why stop there? Let's try other sci-fi franchises too!
too much penetration is bad too since a bullet would do more damage if it stayed inside the body and expanded like what hollow point rounds are designed for but ı don't really know how physical catridges effect covenant personal shields so can't ay much about that.
Magnum revolver that's actually a mini rail gun is such a fun idea. I wish we had something like that in the games
personally, for the Mac-10 redesign, i would've added a foldable stock since the recoil of the compact would be somewhat incredibly high. the stock would be something similar to the M7 or M20 SMG
The MP40 in addition with the upcoming fractured armor core give me some real Wolfenstine vibe and I love it.
This is an interesting idea, especially considering how annoyingly prevalent modern firearms are in the TV Show
God the TV show is annoying lol. 2nd episode sent me to sleep no joke I had a nap and had to rewatch it 😂
I have only seen 2 examples both of which I had to pause the episode to make out with weapon it use under all the added greeblys. I never would have noticed they were "modern" weapons if people didn't keep complaining for some reason. Now what pisses me off is the fact that they blatantly used an unpainted plasma pistol prop
@@exilestudios9546 I mean something like Altered Carbon, Dredd or Aliens does a far better job of using greeblys than Halo TV show. Hell they had a Galil Ace Gen 2 with no irons or optics wtf.
Hundreds of years in the future and people are still using Soviet Bloc AK's, That's what honestly really killed me.
@@exilestudios9546 they all literally looked exactly like modern firearms to me. They were all immediately identifiable/recognizable. They didn't even try lol
We know already what the AK 47 looks like it’s the same design even 500 years later. The Magnum looks like a mix between the Marshal 16s from BO3 and the Mozu masterpiece from Bo4.
I mean it's an AK 47 a design so iconic and effective that in a universe where for some reason they still use ammo and weapon systems designed during the cold war it would fit perfectly.
@@exilestudios9546 But, it would have gone through major upgrades within that time. Even the Russians don't actually use the AK-47 for there soldiers they use an upgraded version.
Yet again, this is really good. Hope one day you try out doing Mjolnir Body Armor at some point.
Thank you! I'll keep that in mind!
I didn't mind the modern weapons since they depicted them as ineffective compared to UNSC weapons against the Covenant and the rebels used them is the equivalent of seeing ww2 era weapons today in rebel groups.
I love the new mp40's lore, showing we can and always do overcome our darkest hours as a species
"When it comes to submachine guns, this is as classic as it gets"
Meanwhile the Thompson: "Am I a joke to you?"
They are all great! The MP40 redesign is my favorite.
Oh man.. that revolver is beautiful. I could see that and would be happy to see that in the games
Revolver and aug were my favorite. Amazing art work
I’d LOVE to see the P90 get this treatment. The XM8 too.
Inb4 someone says "This is how they should've done the weapons in the Halo TV Show".
Excellent work as always! Love the AUG in particular.
Hahah thanks man!🤘
Well, yeah, this is exactly how they should have done the weapons 😂
Desgin wise. they are great.
But I feel like the lore could use some work but that's mainly in regard to the choice of weapons. AUG and Mangium were good choices to 'modrenize' in the halo setting. but everything seemed question due their Actual real life manufacturing desgins, operations, and, most importantly, their useage Doctrine. Why these guns were made in the first place.
Pretty sure he has help on the Lore side so actually the Wernissage part is fine its the Lore wise as you say which isn't all him.
I think they would make more sense as weapons that were updated, and mass produced by insurrectionists. But the updated mp40 seems like something a civilian would have incase of an emergency.
@@mj3541
Weirdly enough, i'd think AK would be in the same boat as the mp40 and most other ww2 era weapons. especially since weapon maintenance is kinda nonexistent in Halo.
That said, it would make more sense for colonist to have things like the Sten guns and Uzis as they are some of the most basic/bare bones guns that we can mass produce.
It would honestly be pretty cool to see an MG42 in Halo Form.
I would say the Magnum is easily the best of this particular go-around. The AK is a close second, but that's simply because I kind of miss the more distinctive contrast between the wood and steel in the classic design.
Somebody get this guy on the Halo show art design team
I'd love to see the FN2000, M1911, M16, M4, and AR-15 get the Halo treatment lol. I could see them being used in Earth Planetary Defense Forces (Not much in the Outer Colonies as such weapons are generally less reliable in harsh alien wildlife conditions than the AK-47).
Why pick 3 of the same platform?
you do realize that the AR 15 and M-4 are just different configurations of the M-16 right? they're not different guns.
Seeing the MAC 10 covered in lights and picatinny rails is the funniest thing I've seen all day.
I’d love to see a part 2 to this one. These are such cool designs
8:10 “a reminder of humanity’s previous darkest time” - The inter-colony wars?
I love it. The show seriously needs to start hiring you for their prop art, I think it would greatly improve the look of the show.
Also, I would love to see more Halofying modern day weaponry. You sir, have impressed me yet again.
Possibly the rpg7 but updated. There's a mp40 in a halo comic book.
While I agree some look outdated, the US military still uses the same hmg that was put into service in 1933 and will most likely be used well into the future. 200 years is quite a long time though.
That Magnum and AK looked incredible. Amazing work!
My favorites of your designs this video are the aug and mp40
Would've love to have seen these types of weapons in the Halo TV show specifically the AUG & AK design. 500 years into the future there definitely is more different weapons than the ones we see in the game, or at least their updated counterparts. The lore stuff behind the weapon designs sound really interesting & realistic to the Halo universe. Great takes on it & I love it 😁. But I would've also loved to have seen a Halofied take on the M16 or the more modern & known M4 Carbine
There seriously NEEDS to be a fan game that incorporates these weapons and armor designs
Yeah this got me too. Its the 20rd tanker mags for x39mm I believe.
Ah gotcha, thanks! I'm really not good at that kinda stuff, but I want to learn, so thanks for the heads up!
@@Wernissage I’d be happy to help if need be, it’s about time for the amount of random firearm knowledge I have to actually be put to use
Shhhhh, let’s just say the entire gun was scaled up
@@ThatOneLoreKeeper oh yeah that works, let’s go with that.
What would be an absolute must in halo is flow through supressors.
( technically speaking it would be much closer in comparison with the ammo normally used in an AS VAL)
Using the 7.62x51 would mean that you would need to make the magazine a lot wider. (Think ww2 bren mags in 303 British)
The Magnum should be called the Buffalo or Bison. Just feels right with the look. lool
@@potatokilr7789 greeblys/greeblies? I think thats what Hollywood calls it
Now someone has to get Brandon Herrera to make the halo AK
As far as game play is concerned, I think you're magnum design would be a good way to bring a spiritual successor to the Halo CE magnum. most likely with a 2 tap or may even a 1 tap head shot against most enemies even keeping the 1 tap to hunters from behind. It should go without saying but, in universe to distinguish between the magnums I believe people would refer to the revolver as The Big Iron.
Currently the closest you have to the Magnum from CE is the Mangler in Infinite
these redesigns are amazing, definitely like the AUG and AK
I’d love to see these implemented in game! Maybe a mod will do!
The Magnum looks like Hawkmoon from Destiny I want it.
These were awesome thanks Wern! For Part 2 please can we have a FAL/G3 type weapon, an LMG type belt fed and an MP5? Perhaps a Halo Bolt Action Sniper in 6.5 creedmoor or something smaller than 14.5mm?
We have the dmr for that.
Something in .338 lapua or 6.5 CM
these were amazing as always man, i especially love the little pieces of lore and unique reticles for each gun
Ngl I think the magnum looks a little more like Destiny than Halo (still great tho), but all the other weapons were PERFECT! MP40 was definitely my favorite design by far, I'm actually upset now we don't have it in game lol
That's fair, I can see that. Hahah thanks!
Sturmgewehr 44, HK M416, Gepard GM6 Lynx, Desert Eagle, Danuvia 43M, MP5, MP7, P90, SVD Dragunov i would like these, as they all great weapons on their own
Everything Wern makes is so good
I love that you put additional detail into this with showing their reticle. My favorite has to be the AUG, with the scoped magnum coming second
Get a life
Open bolt sub guns would make sense if you have zero expectations of getting them back or their owners surviving past the first battle.
Tbh the br is a halo famas
We need another video like this, I want to see a halofyied M1911
The halo ak. Them kids in new mombasa got new tech
THE BIG MAC
or when they’re dual wielded... The DOUBLE BIG MAC
But when will Wern redesign my cat? 🤔
kiwi cat is perfect
The modding community needs to add these to Halo MCC!

This looks 5 steps behind the AK-50’s final design Brandon’s wanting… neat
"Halofying" guns just makes them into weapons from Destiny
I feel like “due to the historical implications with the weapon being a reminder of humanities previous darkest time” was a bad choice to be tacked onto a weapon used by the nazis, as an Easter egg for hope against the covenant’s genocide 💀

Not only he redesign the weapon. He also add lore behind it! Amazing
I love these redesigns, my only gripe is the AK's Magazine looks... too small, kinda to a goofy extent in comparison with the front of the rifle. I think keeping the size of the reference image would've been a better call. These are still amazing though!
I always theorized the Innies would use older weapons. It makes sense, their cheap and a certain world event out there is currently fielding 100 year old equipment too. So my point and theory was proven which was cool in the show. And seeing this video just made that even cooler.
M79 Grenade Launcher is a huge one for me because that was one of the weapons used in the first episode. but an interesting one out of left field would be the Beretta Raffica, the KAC Chainsaw/M60, M1 Garand and the Thompson SMG.
Edit: the FN FAL, FN P90, and MP5 would be an exotic choice for Halo-fying modern weapons
This massively reminds me of how the weapons of star wars are made, I really don't know why paramount couldn't do the same.
