Just found your channel , at the ripe old age of 66 I’m going to give it a go when this is all over. What a superb van well done. Look forward to seeing more of your vids. 👍
Cheers! Go for it you won't regret it mate just wished the camp sites would open up. You don't know because of the lockdown you might pick up a bargain. I'm in the middle of giving mine a makeover at the moment painting all the units and new flooring the caravan is lovely but the wood effect is a bit dated now so we thought a revamp would be in order hope it turns out nice so far so good. I will be uploading a video soon of the makeover

Hi there, I love you video. I do believe that your Fleetwood Volante is the very same one that my mother and I had when I was growing up. It was a super van and seeing your video has brought back some happy memories. I hope that you have happy times in her.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to produce this and keeping it understandable. Bought an Elldis Avante 2 berth for just £4K myself last year, but regretfully has a leak round the fanlight so your tip about CTI is really helpful. Thank you.

It,s a lovely comfy Caravan . It makes me wonder why these people who make tiny homes go to such expense when you have there luxury at a very cheep price . The curtains and upholstery are nice too . but that is easily changed if you wanted to give it a brand new look . I will be watching out for one like that.
Cheers mate there are some nice little bargains out there. Mind you I have had a few little problems like when I blew my water heater I have also gone through a couple of jockey wheels but apart from that Fingers crossed
We are just looking for out first caravan and your video is giving us some confidence to get started. i love the layout of the caravan. Thank you for sharing. Any tips for buying a use caravan please as I don't have a clue what to look for 😅
Thank you. Just dont rush and be prepared to view caravans and walk away if you have doubts. It's quite easy to see a caravan and fall in love with it. Your best tool when viewing one is your nose! If you smell the slightest damp walk away. Also ask to see the appliances working ie: cooker, fridge, heating, even the aerial because this will save you money in the long run. The safest way to buy one is from a dealership and gives you great peice of mind but that comes at a hefty price. But there are a lot of private sellers wich are great. Start off with a low budget older model. My one is the 2005 Fleetwood Volante 5/60 unfortunately fleetwood went out of business now such a shame they made lovely Van's but spares are widely available
Your video just came up in my YT suggestions as I've been looking at a few caravan vids lately. We had a couple when the kids were young but the wife didn't much like the towing element as it always scared her. Now we are retired she recently suggested we should get another, especially as we both hate flying (it's a right pain these days) and decided to holiday at home. We were shocked at the price of even modest units to be honest. You certainly got a bargain, what a well finished van. Our first one was an old sprite that we lavished attention on and the second was a dealer specced special offer that was too good to pass up. Now we are looking at a small 2 berth, maybe a Gopod or a Freedom type. As you say though, a little bit of graft will fix most things as long as it's not rotten, and the community is fantastic. I've subbed and I'm looking forward to seeing your future vids, thanks for sharing.
I'm 50 now and have gone part time at work as I'm self employed so I'm going to use it as much as possible unfortunately haven't got to use it this year. I bought this one 3 years ago and we was only going to keep it for a couple of years but we absolutely love it so we are keeping a bit longer as it has everything we need. Just shop around ebay have some nice reasonable priced Van's from time to time. Even if the van is an older model they are so easy to re decorate to you liking. I would recommend a solar panel that was the best thing I done to my van. Anyway good luck and best wishes
I had a fleetwood identical to yours and it was riddled with damp coming from the rear of the van through the awning rail. Keep an eye on that. Not sure if it was the light, but it looked like there was some damp on the ceiling above the left bed?
Good deal just looked like there’s a bit if damp in the roof above the rear bed,but not the end of the world £3000 it’s a shame fleetwood went bust because they we’re head of the curve in the layout front
There is a few out there on ebay I saw one a couple of weeks ago a Fleetwood Heritage with double fixed bed wish I bought that one it's a pain pulling the bed out on mine every night lol I suppose it's the fun of caravaning
I don't think that would bother me to be fair. Just a great caravan for me the wife and little one. My car apparently can tow 1.5 ton.. A Honda FRV so hopefully one of them would be ok. All very new to me atm. But we are looking on eBay. And I'm not sure if to start off with an older one and do it up. But yours has really thrown me off course as it would be amazing that it's all done as I'd have to refurb an older one.

Volante = Flyng.
Where did you buy it???
Privately on ebay from a guy in Leicester wasn't an auction bid it was a classified ad
@@bodienutt1 did you take with you any expert to check for hidden damp etc? You've got a lovely van!
to have got that van for 3 grand it must be either riddled with damp like a lot of fleetwoods looks far too good to be true
Its a 18 year old van we have had it 3 years now with no problems and still going strong. That's why I never buy from dealers
I know this is old but I think you keep covering your phones mic and its really hard to hear you.
Sorry about that it was my old phone usless lol
