The way you used the screwdrivers to pop the tire up over the edge of the rim is exactly how you do it on a full size tire if you don't have a tire machine
Get some plastic bicycle tyre levers Kev, save messing those nice rims up.
@Customs_By_ Noumps Plastic will be fine for this, it needs to be a pretty tight bike tyre before plastic won’t do it and the RC tyres don’t have an actual wire or Kevlar bead so they’ll be much easier to get on. Plus plastic protects the nice wheels.
I use the little plastic cheese spreaders out of my kids' cheese and cracker packs.

@@jonnyonwheels They're not as good as I remember, but the kids still love 'em and those sticks have ended up with 100+ uses for me. Even made an esc tray out of them on one of my more Frankenstein RC builds lmao.

To get tires on rims I’ve found that you can usually pinch the tires to pull them into place one section at a time until they are fully on. It’s actually easier than using screwdrivers so long as you have enough strength.

I'm using tire irons (I guess they are called in english) from my bicycle, it works really nice with the plastic ones and you don't scratch the metal

I can say this as an American that’s been to quite a few real monster truck shows, the fact that this truck rebounds and behaves exactly like a real monster truck is nothing short of impressive. And those aluminum hubs and transfer case only add to the illusion. This is SICK.

Hey Kevin, I think I might know of an easier way of getting the second head seated on the rim! So you see, I ride mountain bikes (MTBs), and a lot of bikes nowadays have tubeless tires (which I've heard are AWESOME!). But a way, the point is, with bike tires, to get them off, and to get them on easily, (especially on some tubeless tires) you'll want a pair of tire levers. You want or get ones that aren't made of exposed metal, get plastic ones or metal ones covered with rubber to avoid scratching/denting your rim. These tire levers should be able to fit on your tires, and they will replace your screwdrivers (NEVER use those on bike rims!!). It will be a bit easier, there will be pretty much no chance of damaging your tire, and it should go faster. I haven't tested this new method before, but it should work fine!

Hey Kev I don’t know if your gonna see this but your videos are awesome and I got a slash 2wd about a month ago. But in terms of mounting the inner bead on wheels I’ve found it easiest to pinch the bead with a thumb and tip or thumb and joint. Then after that you pull it over in the pinch grip. Finally you can roll the rest of the bead over and the seat it into the rim.

When prying difficult tires on beadlock, I have found an inexpensive plastic bicycle Tire levers to work great

Just a suggestion. You could buy some bicycle plastic tire tools. They're like 15$ish dollars and work wonders for (small) beed lock wheels like that
put larger travel suspension on it, it seems as it is always bottoming out

Kevin, for mounting tire on the bead like that, maybe a skinny bicycle tire lever.

I would just suggest using as non-marring plastic tool like an interior trim remover type of a tool for mounting those tires, rather than a screwdriver. That way you get the same lever action but no risk of tearing the rubber. Great videos BTW! You are the reason I got into hobby grade RC bashers around a year ago after goofing with toy grade RC things for the better part of my 33 years on planet Earth. Wish I would’ve pulled the trigger on hobby grade sooner, I’ve been addicted ever since.

Get a pair of nylon bicycle tire levers and cut them lengthwise to make them narrower. Much better than a screwdriver.

Hey guys i found a easy way to put that back lip and its safe guaranteed not to damage or puncture any tire.... Use the tire changer tool that comes in a bike tire changing kit
yup im the same all alloy except the ball links.. good idea to have a sacrificial part.
Plastic auto trim removal pry tools .. for the tires. Won't scratch the rim or poke a whole.in your tire
You can get a set of 3 "Glass Fibre Reinforced Bike Tyre Levers" at Halfords for £3.50 that won't scratch your rims or puncture your tyres. Much easier than screwdrivers in my experience :)

That looks better than the full size Digger. Those wheels look awesome. Try some bicycle tyre levers to fit that rear bead!! Hard plastic tool with a wide end is far less likely to tear a tyre, or your finger!! 🤪
