Eh. You're blinded by nostalgia, man. While the old siege was extremely fun at the time, if old siege never changed, it would never have the life span it has today.
Before the gay pc community ruined it by taking the fun out of r6 thinking every match was pro league, they banned everything nerfed everything and wanted to ruin every map… remember when siege died… how boring and crap the game was thank the pc community and they’re back at it i hate pc community
Old Siege, despite its numerous problems (and trust me, there were a lot), still felt like a semi-realistic, tactical shooter that is immersive and makes you genuinely love the game. Current Siege is booming and I'm happy for it, but it didn't feel "Siege" or even remotely "Rainbow Six".
Old siege back in 2015 felt like games like Ready or not today. Night maps, visual effects, some horrific feeling about lurking players around you. I hope as other games like pubg and Call of duty Siege bring some classic maps and mechanics back for some events
Breaching Charges used to light up for different surfaces. Green was for barricades, soft walls, and hatches which would be totally destroyed. Yellow was floors/walls with metal railings that would be partially destroyed. Red was for indestructible or reinforced walls. I know Mira's Black Mirror lit up this way as well, which is why there are still three lights despite it being taken out of the game for years. You would only see the Mira light turn yellow on very specific places like Tower Stairs on Old Oregon or the one Meeting Room wall on Plane with railings. I don't know if Thermite's exothermic charge lit up this way as well or not. Some other ones: People used to glitch onto the unreachable rafters in Clubhouse Garage. The Yacht wood wall outside of Aklark Sub Room used to be able to be broken instantly, now it requires a lot more hits. Also, the Yacht ship used to be called Boreal, but was changed to Aklark for some reason. Smoke's Toxic Babes used to have orange tape all over it and was changed to yellow. I think this happened around Grim Sky or Wind Bastion. Old Old Kafe, the Bar Freezer did not have a location next to the compass, I'm pretty sure it was the only room in the game where the game didn't tell you the name of the room. Also, there was a hatch above reading in Bar Backstore that was taken out when Kafe got reworked. Old CCTV/Cash on Clubhouse was a nightmare because there was a hatch above CCTV, and the exterior walls on Cash had space where you could shoot/Fuze the room from above the reinforcement. And there was a window at the back of Cash. On Old House, Garage had a doorway blocked by a shelf that attackers and defenders could shoot eachother through. Shoutout to the goat Iceycat for showing me to put a Mute jammer there the second the round started. Also on Old House, there was no nursery/playroom or new wing of the house, so Kids Bedroom was very exposed to exterior rappelling and the side window you could vault in from. Don't Reinforce Kids Bedroom became a well known meme early on because if you did you were not retaking site. On Old Oregon, you used to be able to run out from Small Tower second floor into Dining Hall from the exterior door. This was a great runout that garnered me a lot of kills over the years. This is more recent but when Osa came out Ubi got rid of the hatch in Open Area on Bank that was in the upstairs hallway. On Old Kanal, the garage area below map room was considered outside, but the room next to it, was not. If you could make it there quickly it was a great hiding spot. And as an attacker you could attack from below of Map Room and take out unsuspecting defenders. Old Chalet had a hatch in bar above Snowmobile Garage, and another hatch in between the on the top floor that went in between Foyer and Dining. This was the same connecter with all the bushes that defenders love to hide themselves and traps in. On Old Consulate, there used to be a bomb site for Consul Office/Piano Room. This was changed in Y3S3, which added a bomb site in Tellers/Server. On Old Hereford, there was a crazy spawn peak from the 3rd floor Ballistic Map Depot onto one of the Tower Spawn. I used to kill so many players when Maestro still had ACOG with this peak. This is most noticeable on Old Border, but you used to be able to shoot/drive your drone through the little holes at the bottom of the interior windows of border without breaking the window. In Tellers, Armory Desk, and Customs Desk this was a fun thing to attempt. Also on Border, you used to be able to vault into Offices from Archives from the top of the shelf, since the wall was right next to shelf and had a small hole at the top of it. Old Favela had an exterior staircase that went straight into Pink Apartment. As a defender it was also a worry that the attackers were just going to rush. On Old Skyscraper, the exterior Tower had a lot of crazy angles into the Exhibition/Office site. Shoutout to Coconut Brah for finding a lot of these crazy spots. New Skyscraper removed the staircase on the Tower so now it's impossible to get up there as an attacker/defender. On Old Theme Park, defenders could easily get the hatch above Monster Stairs by running out the control window and up the ramp onto the roof. This was the only roof hatch defenders could reinforce besides maybe the hatches on Clubhouse Roofs (Gym, Logistics, and Changing Room) which were all patched eventually anyway. A small change, but when Villa came out, on T-Hunt, the last three enemies would chase the player. If you were in basement, the enemies would get stuck in the wine barrels. The next season had the barrel soft walls removed from T-Hunt. On Old Outback, you could rappel near the Bunks Window, which had this small angle where the blue tarp pealed away. Now on the rework it's all metal. They also removed Piano Stairs and completely changed the Workshop 1st Floor area. Before there was Compressor Room, Gear Storage, Convenience Store, and Beer Fridge, all of which is now Maintenance, and Waiting Room got slid up from being the connecter from Garage to Convenience Store to being the connector for Maintenance and Bar.
honestly one of the best parts of old siege was the ui and hud and how they used pictures of actual CTUS in year 1. The atmosphere was just so much better. Compared to now and it looks like a mobile game hahah 💀
Fuck I miss old siege, more gritty and realism tone was so much better imo, originally played siege back when it came out when i was in high school I'm now in my early twenties, makes me feel old as shit watching this xD.
@@TheGazeboMeisterhonestly I started playing the day of launch. First one I watched was your part 2. Just saw you’ve uploaded part 3 rn so I’m gonna go watch part 1 and then come back to this ❤
Adding on to old Amaru, she used to destroy the window barricade before she started grappling there. It gave defenders a really long warning time window, making her really weak.
The E3 build looks so good even to this day! Loved the swat vibes. Now it's just superheros almost lol! Next Operator is gonna have super strength or something lol.
Im with you on the favela nostalgic times, the cool summer night of playing, I used to listen to music when playing and when I listen to the same music i just insta rememer old siege idk what it is but old siege was just a vibe
I remember when you start game and technical works starts, everybody can pick any operator, even if it's not bought already. It was a great time, where you can test new operators.
Before skins were released all the time, night maps were more advantageous for Attackers. Most operators have a dark outfit, which used to help beign blended in with the night, making spawnpeeking more difficult, while also beign harder to spot attackers repelling on windows.
Another great way to skyrocket to the top of the leaderboard was to repeatedly place and remove Aruni’s laser gate on a doorway. It would constantly give you points.
I haven't played the game since 2020, so all this is what I remember about the game. I have a few memories of my own. The clipping of limbs through walls, which was why the textures turned 2d when it would have previously went through. Gun sights were inconsistent. The ump had the holographic father away from your vision making the reticle smaller (example around 8:30), and the original red dot riser being removed from the F2 and FAL Para. The muzzle break originally being the best attatchment in the ame making every gun a laserbeam, and being a massive block of a muzzle device on many of the AR's Mute's jammer only covered 1/2 of the radius compared to the current verison. It only would cover 1 reinforced wall and was mostly a worse bandit, because bandit has 4 batteries. And another, the sound was infinitely better when breaking glass on a barricaded window. Not breaking the barricade, just the glass outside the window. I have plenty more but that is a number of the ones I remember. I miss the old days.
In addition to mute's old victory pose, Mira also had one if you had her shotgun equipped she'd hold up a backwards L with her left hand to represent the frame of her window
Having a "no limits" type game mode where everyone can pick a single Op would be both broken and fun as all heck. Imagine the fear of facing 5 Lions all using their scan back to back
The barbed wire rooms in T hunt usually had bombers that would spawn nearby or in the room, so you would basically be screwed if they saw you since you would be slowed.
When you were able to pick where the recruit came from. You were able to select what branch they came from and were able to select the guns and equipment used by the branch
The fact that anything about Melusi being related to what kids these days call "Old Siege" makes me feel even older. I'm a fucking dinosaur by that logic. I even feel Hibana and Echo being kind of new.
The reason why they changed Mira's voice actress was because they wanted to do more cinematics with Mira. But since the old voice actress was not always available they decided to change her voice actress.
22:12 I have this closed beta test weapon skin on R6S, but I don’t know if anyone will recognise the flex if I put it on all my weapons I feel like there is no other way to show you are a very old R6S player, but it’s so rare that no one will probably ever know it
I would be so down to watch some similar style videos of old Call of Duty like was teased at the end. Definitely gotta include being able to clip through that rock on the MW2 DLC map Fuel
I kinda miss how on Consulate the one spot that used to get defended as a first choice was the servers. For attackers it was crucial to get the hatches or at least some walls open. But if they didn't have a thermite, they were cooked
The Peacock skin was unlocked via the Closed Alpha/Beta tests. I run it on some guns, but I've only had one person recognize it, so I think it's extremely rare.
Idk if you will see this, but there used to be a glitch where if a shield and defender melee’d at the same time; the defender would kill them via knife.
Twitch outfit was totally different. They reworked her totally (even portrait artwork). Frost face and bandit too. Bandit old face don’t have an angry face. I’m pretty sure they did it on sledge too.
